£15m ALLEN

FORMER Celtic target Joe Allen is poised for a £15million move to Stoke City.

Liverpool will sell the Welsh international midfielder with two additional clauses in the deal.

The Anfield side are demanding Mark Hughes’ team pay an extra £2million if they stay in the Premier League – and finish higher than last season’s 10th place.

That would take the cash outlay by the Brittania Stadium outfit to £15million – the same fee the Merseyside men splashed to take the 26-year-old anchorman from Brendan Rodgers’ Swansea in August 2012.

Hughes is ready to agree the conditions to land his fellow-Welshman in time to take him to his team’s training camp in Orlando later in the week.

Liverpool knocked back an £8million bid from Allen’s former club Swansea last month.

New Hoops’ boss Rodgers had hoped to lure his ex-player to the five-in-a-row champions, but was forced to drop his interest when the hard-working Allen starred in his nation’s surge to the semi-final of the Euro Championships in France.

While waiting on what’s coming next why not enjoy the laugh at both Govania clubs – the dead one and the one with five stars on their shirts – one for every year come the end of the season.

If you don’t laugh your socks off we’ll be surprised! Get your copy exclusively at www.cqnbookstore.com now for only £9.99.
