FORMER Celtic target Joe Allen is poised for a £15million move to Stoke City.
Liverpool will sell the Welsh international midfielder with two additional clauses in the deal.
The Anfield side are demanding Mark Hughes’ team pay an extra £2million if they stay in the Premier League – and finish higher than last season’s 10th place.
That would take the cash outlay by the Brittania Stadium outfit to £15million – the same fee the Merseyside men splashed to take the 26-year-old anchorman from Brendan Rodgers’ Swansea in August 2012.
Hughes is ready to agree the conditions to land his fellow-Welshman in time to take him to his team’s training camp in Orlando later in the week.
Liverpool knocked back an £8million bid from Allen’s former club Swansea last month.
New Hoops’ boss Rodgers had hoped to lure his ex-player to the five-in-a-row champions, but was forced to drop his interest when the hard-working Allen starred in his nation’s surge to the semi-final of the Euro Championships in France.
Once Upon a Time in the Kingdom of Govania is the hilarious new book from CQN laughing at the demise of Rangers and the pretendy new tribute act playing in the big boys league for the first time this season.
UEFA have confirmed in writing that they are a new club and CQN has been inundated by ZERO journalist’s enquiries from the Scottish MSM asking for sight of this definitive and conclusive letter. Not that we’re bothered.
While waiting on what’s coming next why not enjoy the laugh at both Govania clubs – the dead one and the one with five stars on their shirts – one for every year come the end of the season.
If you don’t laugh your socks off we’ll be surprised! Get your copy exclusively at www.cqnbookstore.com now for only £9.99.
