CONFIRMED: BARKAS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE

ANGE POSTECOGLOU gave blundering Vasilis Barkas a vote of confidence by naming him in his starting eleven for the friendly against Weet Ham in front of 18,500 fans at Parkhead this afternoon.

The Greek No, 1, who endured a torrid debut campaign at the Hoops after his £4.5million arrival from AEK Athens in the summer, was blamed by many for FC Midtjylland’s equalising goal in the 1-1 draw in the Champions League second round first leg qualifier on Tuesday.

However, Barkas still got the nod from his manager to start against Davie Mopyes’ London side.

TEAM: Barkas; Ralston, Murray, Welsh, Taylor; Soro, McGregor; Abada, Turnbull, Christie; Edouard. Subs: Bain, Doohan, Bitton, Griffiths, Rogic, Bolingoli, Urhoghide, Connell, Shaw, Robertson, Forrest, Henderson, Montgomery and Hjelde.
