A victory for ugly men everywhere

921

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has managed to register his image rights on the off-shore tax-efficient territory of Guernsey.  Income received there for use of his rights everywhere else will not attract the kind of tax mere mortals pay in their daily lives.

Pellegrini, 60, developed a genial personality to combat profound ugliness, an affliction which has affected him for decades, so news that his image has commercial value is a wonderful boon for the multi-millionaire.  Manchester City will also benefit as any monies they pay for use of their manager’s image will not attract tax or National Insurance contributions.

Uefa president, Michele Platini, who has never had to worry about ugliness, now has a different challenge.  Whether or not to abandon his well-meaning Financial Fair Play aspirations, or get ugly on those who try to usurp his best intentions.

Likewise. The ” British” as a population only felt the way they were told to feel.

Yes, the ordinary brit was only there to man the factories or be cannon fodder at times of war. A big concern for the establishment post war was the risk of communism in the states they were leaving behind. A risk to the hopes that although the empire was gone, there would still be good business to be had trading with the “commonwealth”, named after the hope that all the wealth would continue to flow into the british coffers, and not be common at all except among the already rich establishment.

I’m boycoting the games in Glasgow, mainly because I wasn’t successful in getting any tickets.

    Socialism in one country?

    Seriously?

Ach Ernie, it’s just socialism we are talking about here – not communism. It’s still a capitalist system, still subject to market forces.

It does however try to put national resources in the hands of the government/people i.e. nationalised railways, energy, health service.

I don’t see what is not to like about socialism – there is dignified provision for the vulnerable, and opportunity for the amassing of capital.

Another poster says there is no guarantee that scotland would turn socialist after an election. True – but if the SSP’s electoral share is taken into account before Tommy started his nonsense with his pal Billy Davies (about 20%??? in council elections), then large proportions Scotland want not just a socialist government, but a real left wing socialist government. Bring it on.

Bye the way, Sinn fein, Catalonia, basque country have expressed complete admiration for the tactics and moderation of the SNP

I tell you, you don’t get polite political debates like this on follow follow. It’s all “bheasts this bheasts that. They bheasts make me sick etc”. Some of them are possibly mentally disturbed. The rest are keyboard brownshirts. Maybe 5% are rational.

Are you saying if I post:

Read the roll of honour for Ireland’s bravest men

We must be united in memory of the ten,

England you’re a monster, don’t think that you have won

We will never be defeated while Ireland has such sons.

In those dreary H-Block cages ten brave young Irishmen lay

Hungering for justice as their young lives ebbed away,

For their rights as Irish soldiers and to free their native land

They stood beside their leader – the gallant Bobby Sands.

Now they mourn Hughes in Bellaghy,

    Ray McCreesh in Armagh’s hills

In those narrow streets of Derry they miss O’Hara still,

They so proudly gave their young lives to break Britannia’s hold

Their names will be remembered as history unfolds.

Through the war torn streets of Ulster the black flags did sadly sway

To salute ten Irish martyrs the bravest of the brave,

Joe McDonnell, Martin Hurson, Kevin Lynch, Kieran Doherty

They gave their lives for freedom with Thomas McElwee.

Michael Devine from Derry you were the last to die

With your nine brave companions with the martyred dead you lie

Your souls cry out “Remember, our deaths were not in vain.

Fight on and make our homeland a nation once again !”

..I may be breaking the law? What if everyone does that?

“SO WER’E GUILTY ONE AND ALL”…
