All managerial appointments are a risk and Rodgers had a pre-season and a summer window. The next manager will be coming in nearly a third into the season with a squad that isn’t his and will have to hit the ground running.

I admit it’s not a good place to be right now.

  2. FAIRHILL BHOY:

    What’s your problem loud mouth?

The failure stretches in every direction up at Parkhead. Did you read the last piece?

Lennon gets his share of the blame alright, and if the sword falls his head will be first to roll, but not the last.

You better BELIEVE I blame him, but he’s not alone, not even close.

  3. Inquitisiov – agree the head to head issue with Sevco is a major concern. Long way to go.

NL V SG in all forms (Hibs included) our manager is on top.

67Euro Cup Winners – “NL has no chance of getting us 10” – on what basis ? He obviously does, look at his points record as a Celtic manager.

Hot Smoked – I hear you pal. Sacking NL today would take a bit of explaining / justifying to the young team in 30 years time. 3 points behind, chasing quadruple treble, in charge for 5 of our possible 10, won multiple titles as a player and we sacked him in October chasing a guy who hadn’t won a thing as a No 1?

Emotionally, statistically, objectively, quantitively – that’s a tough explanatin, especially if Pochettino (no lauging at the back) Eddie Howe (no laughing at the front) failed to take us to 10.

Will MoN, GS, or whatever up and coming German coach who could do well under no pressure at Wigan or Huddersfield get us to 10? Give us some names ye Lennon bashers. Concrete guarantees they will improve us? There are none.

There’s much better chance that Lennon will, IMO. Here we go ten in a row.

  4. DAVID66-no one can tell him to fek off. Probably because he’s the best we have.

    Unfortunately

  5. Did the Celtic board really not see this coming? Were they completely ignorant of the competition?

Flushed with success, the jubilation of a post shower appointment now seems a little off.

As I mentioned before, an appointment which was more shampoo than champagne.

Will the situation sort itself or does it require an intervention?

  6. Seen Lenny’s and CalMac’s post match interview.

Sorry to say but I don’t think they get it. No fans in the stadium seems to have allowed Lennon and the players to live in their own world completely removed from reality.

Hopefully the board aren’t in the same blinkered world.

  7. James Forrest-I read everything you post buddy. The player thing you did was just a way of saying Lennon was playing players out of position over and over again. So just man up and say it.

    Loudmouth 🤔

  8. My optimism comes from watching football for 50 years. I never saw anyone win the league in October.

We have players out that will improve the team

  9. When’s OE back – he’s obviously the players’ comfort blanket – all over the place without him!

  10. Some folk think we just need to turn up for 3 points. Yes a few results haven’t gone our way…the huns game was awful….midweek we’re playing against serie a leaders and I don’t really care…today we came back and we’re unlucky not to win after Lenny made some decent subs. If we win our game in hand we’re 3 points behind the hun.

I’m not half reading some amount of shite on here.

I too noticed Lenny talking to himself, when the camera view expanded it confirmed no one close to him. Strange to say the least😵

  12. The argument is that we have players out that would improve the team.

A lot of those players played against Ferencvaros. Eddie’s been a shadow of himself, Ajeti looks like he’ll never be fully “fit”, Bitton is steady but injury-prone, likewise Elhamed.

Who are these players who will come in and suddenly teach Duffy how to defend, Christie how to cross, teach Frimpong the art of the final ball and put a rocket up the others?

“Some folk think we just need to turn up for 3 points”

Not at all. But it certainly looks like we have players who think that.

    ———

All the players currently missing were playing earlier in the season, and the team still didn’t play well.

Prestonpans bhoys-we all talk to ourselves

    ——-

    Just not in public

  16. Fairhillbhoy – Anyone is better than him at hitting a kick.

He is hopeless. My opinion and you have yours.

Christie also kept occupying the wide right berth blocking frimpongs road, but both were pish anyway.

Please god can we play 2 Centre Forwards.

1 centre forward up front or no centre forward.

As I say it was a must win game for our managerial team, they failed.

Time for a parting of the ways.

    D :)

  17. SAINT STIVS

But how do you explain why the players we had last Saturday against our biggest rival did not try a leg, put in a tackle, or even muster one single, solitary attempt at goal in 90 minutes? Shahktar Donetsk and AZ Alkmaar defeated Real Madrid and Napoli respectively, both away from home, with full teams unavailable due to Covid. So I don’t buy the reason was a few players out. We simply crumpled and gave up with a whimper. Seems to be a very large elephant in the room that no one is focused on. Any ideas?

  18. We still have to go to Ibrox, Easter Road and Livi.

We’ve struggled in these grounds in our good years.

This season will get worse if Lenny remains.

The AGM may be our only opportunity to tell a few home truths to the hierarchy at Celtic who seem to be taking our support and this league as a given. We need to wake up.

    No argument from me

However you are stating the obvious – the real message is what happens now

Do we make changes this week ?

Do we carry on as we are ?

What gives us the best chance to win the league

Feeding facts to a well educated audience (not me but the readers of CQN) is easy

Offering a solution is a bit more of a risk

    67ECW

    PS I offered mine @ 2.17

  20. lenny made good & timely substitutions so meone said

David Turnbull on 85th minute, should have been Stephen Welsh to tighten up defence and hold out for a win

  21. After the longest transfer window in history, we have let a malaise set in,if guys wanted to go,we would have known who they were, sell them and bring in fresh blood, we are looking a tired, worn squad right now.Saying that,we buy the likes of Soro and Turnbull for £5 million plus, and they don’t get a look in.Ntcham will play in the French shop window on Thursday, then work on getting Turnbull in to the starting 11,starting at Hampden on Sunday.

  22. lets all do the huddle on

Some folk think we just need to turn up for 3 points

My love for Trump is on the same level as the Huns

But he divided the USA to his favour on “The Wall” and Immigration last time

He is now highlighting the riots not the cause

    The polls say Biden wins

It’s not over yet – like the Huns don’t underestimate Donald

Its difficult to get sh-t from your shoe

  24. It has been suggested its hun like to expect to win all games.

I would also suggest it is hun like to deny the obvious and believe any old nonsense you are fed.

  25. My explanation is poor form and enforced changes and maybe just maybe the players and management team really are affected more that others by not having our support in stadiums.

As an aside I absolutely feel disgusted when people casually comment and speculate about anyones mental health.

    Unfair and unacceptable.

I did not post during the match because several comments played the man … Again.

Our manager not some punchbag for others insecurities.

  26. 67 EUROPEAN CUP WINNERS on 25TH OCTOBER 2020 6:27 PM

Rot has set in and it won’t get better. Today should’ve been a reaction and it just wasn’t. Same problems, slightly different personnel.

Keep things as they are and Rangers will win the league rather comfortably.

Change the manager which is a risk, and we might get the ten, or we might not.

    The choice is obvious.
