Dons haven’t been in the game at all, and Collum gives them a soft penalty.
No-one to blame but ourselves so far. Not as bad as last Sunday, but not a whole lot better.
Dominating the ball is all well and good, but the keeper needs to be tested, especially in these conditions. We’ve only done that once in the first half, and Christie was a little unlucky after a smart turn in the box but couldn’t get a decent strike in.
Plenty time to turn this round, but we need to be more incisive and less deliberate.

How can anyone say that wasn’t a pen. Skippy used to get them all the time for us and ollie took the bait. We have lost our mojo – and we need it back soon. we don’t deserve anything from this based on first half.

We were on top in that game but apart from a lot of hopeful crosses and one Ntcham shot, we had not tested their goal.
Ferguson bought that penalty- he felt Ntcham’s hand on his back- pushed his backside into him and then went down. It was clever and convincing when looked at in real time, so Collum gave it.
Now, we ARE really up against it. Let’s fce it- a draw was going to be a bad result anyway- so going behind has to remind us of the urgency for 3 points.
We have been playing with slick passes and fast feet but it is all along their back 5 or 6 defence. The penetration that Laxalt got in the opening 10 has dried up- we need to get behind them- we need to give them someone other than Ajeti to mark.

That penalty all stemmed from short pass within 20 yards of our own goal. Why do we insist in playing short goal kicks (in one Ajer is behind Bain) which does nothing but get us into trouble and give the ball away in our own half

Why didn’t Bain simply knock it into Aberdeen’s final third?
The penalty? A number of Celtic players routinely fail to position themselves based on the simple instruction “GOAL SIDE !”.
Ntcham is the worst offender.

Actually, I felt we started more fluent & urgent w this new line-up, but as the half wore on it was more of the same tip-tap possession without penetration. Players are trying hard but its not clicking; Aberdeen are just doing the discipline thing and stymying us as most inferior teams have learned to do. KTF for the next 45

The players are lacking confidence – makes them take an extra touch/make sure of a pass which makes everything slow and predictable. They need to take more risks and increase the pace.
Celtic have enough about them to go on and win this by 2 or 3 goals and hopefully the penalty decision will be enough to fire them up.
Agree re Ely, waste of a jersey so far. Griff for Ely please and get him in and around Ajeti
