Fergus was deservedly booed by the ‘majority’ of the stadium when he put up the league flag – won by the manager that he sacked.
Only the, cliquey-Celtic-Re-Writers of history will claim that it was a minority who booed.
He was booed for putting ‘himself’ before the team on the pitch….unforgivable.
He sacked Wim then, spent almost 3 months looking for a replacement, coming up with Dr Jo who, if he wasn’t Cellic manager – would have been a lolipop man.
Cheap skating with the Cellic fans money.
Fergus’s mantra was – Fluk the team on the pitch – as long as my going away wonga is intact.
He could have taken out Farry in his 1st month in control of the club and yet, he waited till he was almost on the plane home before he acted – incase ‘his’ investment would have been affected.

Enjoy mate.I retired at 57 and have had a ball since.I have so many great things out here,but the daddy of them all is never having to get up for work ever again.
Which is just as well as Turkey has scrubbed the changing of the clocks,the midweek Celtic games dont start now until 10.45.I used to be a bit pissed waiting until 9.45.Will be watching tomorrow night with the old “One eye”

So how did you console our conscience going for so long under the Whites and the Kelly’s who were the men who really drove our team down; and the way Mr Stein was treated was exponentially worse than TB or Wim Jansen. IMHO.

KEVJUNGLE there is an argument to say Jock Stein was done; I’m not convinced he was. However, the man was a true club legend and was treated more shamefully than any manager before or since.
Bob Kelly and Desmond White were more Machiavellian then wee Fergus McCann ever was; and they took Celtic to the brink of the loans being called in!
It was Jock Stein and the Lions who took Celtic to glory, not the Board, who incidentally were in it for their own ends as well. Fergus McCann was a bit more honest about it.
Getting personal at the end, not even worth a retort.

I’ve siad that Murdo is my favorite Celic player ever, not he best Cellic player that I have seen – that was King Kenny Dalglish, the best player ever to play on the British Isles. The best player ever to play for the Cellic …was Bobby Lennox…imho.

Jock’s last season was an absolute nightmare for those of us unlucky enough to be in regular attendance. The litany of horror shows is endless.
But no manager could have coped with the loss of so many of his star players through injury or even transfer.
His stock,as you say,is judged on his achievements.
Legendary,they were. As is he.

His mates love him, as they have drank so much beer by dint of him falling for the “no really, it’s your round” routine.

I’ve loved Hank Williams since an uncle of mine was a big fan and was always playing him. Waylon Jennings another favourite of his. I’ll need to check out the Hank Snow version. Wilbury’s version is actually very good..

I retired at 50 and two months into my retirement we were pregnant for the first time after trying for years.
So been back to work since the wee one was born.
She is 16 and I am 67.
She is doing her highers this year and has her university and course chosen already, so looks like I’ll be working till I’m about 71’ish.
