If we maintain our big lead in the SPL ( and we shouldn`t assume that we will ) , it will give Brendan the opportunity to blood some of our “fringe ” players and be able to better assess who we should retain.

In fact , I think he is already doing that.

  2. TET

Had TRFC beat Hibs in the 2016 SC Final they would have been eligible to apply for a licence because the 3 year period in which they were ineligible to do so elapsed in 2015.

That application would be vetted by UEFA who had the power to do so and refuse under the rules that cover a club who are not covered by UEFA FFP as TRFC were not since at the time they were in the tier below the Premier where a UEFA level licence is not required to play in domestic football.

Quite how UEFA would have dealt with it is an unknown and if Regan said what he is attributed with saying he knows SFA about UEFA FFP as is pretty clear from the Account and Conclusions delivered to Res12 signatories and interested parties. ;)

Gerry, Ferguson ruined Cooper ‘s potential as a good central defender. He turned Cooper into a mentalist midfielder who just broke up play as much as possible. In saying that his goal against the now defunct club in the 1982 or 83 cup final put a smile on my coupon.

His assault on Charlie Nicholas after 2 seconds is still fresh in mind. In saying that if Nicholas was hit in a similar way now, I would have a wee smile ony face.

I haven’t been to Pittodrie for over twenty years but when Aberdeen built that new stand, possibly ten to fifteen years ago, that’s when we stopped getting the Beach End.

I first went to Pittodrie in.the 81/82 season and we had the wee stand at the other end of the pitch from the Beach End.

I believe we got the Beach End to stop the fighting after the games at the place of dung, as our support had to go by the Dons support to get to our buses which were parked along from the big sand dune outside the stadium

    Really don`t think so .

At the age of 17 ( 16 ? ) he scored the winner for Rangers in the cup final. `71 ?

Uni and D.J. ………………….. Polar opposites.

    Can`t you tell ?

  6. HT

Yeah, thought he was unplayable yesterday for 60 mins. He was involved in almost everything.

  7. I remember WC saying last season he knew someone at St Johnstone and they all thought Rogic was our stand out player.

If Sevco ever make it to Europa league qualifiers they will never get past first game with the dross they have playing look what happens to Aberdeen and Hearts every year and they aren’t as bad as sevco

  11. Matt Stewart

    Are you Kris Kristofferson?

He picked up a flying companion whom he met randomly on a flight

Her name was Rita Coolidge who is from a Scottish /Cherokee background.

    Lucky Kris? / Luck Matt?

  12. Maggie McGill

I very much doubt that when UEFA were implementing UEFA FFP they ever imagined refusal to grant a licence would kill off a Scottish institution.

The SFA on the other hand would have known and that would concentrate minds not on applying FFP but circumnavigating it.

The issue that no one wants to surface is the belief that without a “Rangers” Scottish football would go down the Swanee and the other clubs except Celtic, who have the same voting power, are happy to live off the blue crumbs. Celtic no longer need any form of TRFC but other clubs do.

To change the whole dynamic they have to be given an alternative to feed on.

Your sibling would be worth contacting.

Just read your post to Auldheid. You are a sad apology for a man.

You are anti-teacher, anti-student, anti-Green Brigade, anti-Celtic Trust and anti-intellectual. It is hard to understand why you have such a negative agenda. I don’t think you realise it, but many on here tread softly with you when they could be much, much crueller.

  14. It was the early ’90s when we were moved from the Beach End to where we’re allocated now.

Yesterday I was in the final row of Celtic supporters beside the home support. Their behaviour and song choice was absolutely disgusting. Several times I heard shouts of ‘fenian @@@@@’

I’ll never understand how some Celtic supporters have a soft spot for any other clubs.

  15. Tosb

It’s not worth getting upset about in my opinion, that’s what is being sought.

  16. DALLAS DALLAS

WE USED TO GET the Paddock at Pittoddrie

And it was mental coming past Beach end after game

Remember scenes from Spartacus one game as hoops fans

rolled railway sleepers from the hill onto sheep

Gerry, I listened to Graham Hunter’s podcast with Nicholas last year to see if he could get back in my good books.

He nearly did then blew it. He talked of the esteem he held Danny in. Danny helped get him into our first team and would give him a lift to training.

However, he said Arsenal were the team he was most passionate about even though he admitted his career stagnated there. About five minutes later he said he still was a huge Celtic fan??????

When Charlie Nic opens his mouth close your ears he probably doesn’t even believe his own words, he chases the money and dies what he has to do

BUT…. whit a goal scorer that Bhoy was, he could have broke records in the hoops instead he had a few good nights out in London

Hi Bhoys not been on for a while but I am just waiting for the best singer in Sharkeys to sing and it’s not Matt Stewart. Don’t know but I think I did not give good advice about Dingwall so I have heard be back shortly when I find out what happened. HH

Jc2, when my pal and I went to Pittodrie and were in the Paddock, we didn’t see the boxing as we went up on the old football specials run by British Rail.

We headed towards the station and in the opposite direction from most of our support on their way to the supporters buses.

  26. Modestly I have to say that Raymond Shannon61 is once again wrong..his choice of motel which was run by Norman Bates and his appreciation of music are now open to question…I am without doubt the climax of a musical extravaganza that is …if it’s Sunday, It’s Sharkeys. its stunning and most of all ….it is STEWART!

    Hail hail

  27. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Gerry, Charlie did score some brilliant goals for us in both his spells with us.

Like Walker, whenever he talks about us. very rarely any praise is given

It may be a coincidence but both work for sky sports who in my mind, are happy to put us down as much as the media here.

  28. Hunderbirds are Gone on

I met Roy Rogers once. I battered him.

Well he deserved it, with his Mother of Pearl inlaid pistol butts, his sheepskin trimmed saddle and his embroidered shirts.

That’s no a real cowboy! Now, the Virginian……that’s how a real cowboy should dress ;)

  29. Matt Stewart

I know you are a Bhoy from the Brig. I recently read a post of yours mentioning your two sisters. One of them named Jean. Would that be a Jean Stewart, born circa 1951, who attended St. Patrick’s High School, Coatbridge and who may or may have not moved to Canada?

  30. Dallas

Both Nicholas and Walker famously played in one of our most embarassing defeats ever.

They continue to embarrass themselves more than us now. The relatively small pittance of cash they get for their meeja work is nothing vs their integrity and ability to look themselves in the mirror.

Sad pathetic apologists. No amount of goals could balance it for me.

  31. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Fan a tic, sorry for my late reply.

As I said in my post to Gerry, Ryan McGowan’s playing style wasn’t the most pleasant on the eye in stark contrast to our Australian with the magic feet.

  32. Twitter conversation between Celtic fan and Fulham fan, they are liking Johansen by the sounds of it….

‘I love him, he played excellent yesterday for us. He chased down every ball’
