that was King Kenny Dalglish, the best player ever to play on the British Isles. The best player ever to play for the Cellic …was Bobby Lennox…imho.

Both these statements cant be true

I remember it well; losing Dalglish, Conn, Stanton and McGrain was a nightmare. Beaten at home by St Mirren when big Munro debut’d and scored an own goal; out of Europe early, losing the League Cup final and Kiliiw putting us out the Scottish Cup!

Much of it out of his hands and the players he was allowed to bring in weren’t Celtic Class.

he could have been treated better!

Every Cellic manager has been done, no matter who the board were.

My point was that, Fergus isny the snowman that some would have us believe.

As for getting personal – grow up.

Fergus McCann came in with an agenda and was open about it; he did mostly good but could’ve done better; as could we all. However, no doubt he left the club in better condition than he found it.

As for the personal bit, you stuck the wee barb in at the end, not me; unless of course it was an attempt at humour, in which case, it didnae work!

A brown noser is all you are, another shining knight who rides in to the defence of the clique, it’s all been done before, your a late runner, try to keep eh?

Kevin, no Dr Jo, no Lubo.

Dr Jo had us playing some very good football plus the late Phil O’Donnell had his longest run of injury free games and played his best football while Jo Venglos managed us.

Jo came to us in in difficult circumstances, no full pre season to prepare properly.

    He also signed Johan Mallby.

This isn’t a dig at you, just trying to show some good stuff Jo did for us.

VFR, 77/78 was an awful season. We had lost 3 of our top players from the previous season before the first game the season, a nil all draw v Dundee United, had finished. Pat and Alfie were both injured in that game then lost Danny before the clocks had gone back.

Of the players signed that season, only Tom Mcadam turned out to be a success.

We played Clydebank twice at Kilbowie that season and took one point from four.

It was torturous. I think the only game (apart from the 2 European away game) was the 3-1 defeat at Ibrox.

However, some of the stuff under the likes of Brady and Macari was worse IMHO!

Yeah; McAdam and Dowie made their debuts and we were 2-0 at half time. Big Shuggie scored 2.

They put BFDJ up front at half-time; we put Big Shuggie back and capitulated!

Lost 3 times to Rangers that season.

VFR, correct about the abandoned game at Kilbowie on a frozen pitch.

I used to go to Clydebank games if I couldn’t get to one of our away games and always had a soft spot for them.

However , I was bee lin after our two results there in 1978.

Jimmy Lumsden scored in the Bankies 3 2 win and we signed him as a player coach the following season. I don’t think he lasted too long at Celtic Park.
