And so it begins

478

And do it begins.  For years we were subject to ‘Martin O’Neill leaving’ stories, as everyone from local pundits to Tory Party leaders wanted him to move south  Now they want Brendan to leave his beloved Celtic.

This is the reality of success, the alternative is anonymous failure.

I don’t know Brendan’s inner thoughts, but I know he invokes plans for years ahead at the club when taking to his employer. He may or may not be settled in Scotland, but he sounds it.

Looking at the forecast,I’m very doubtful the game will go ahead.

But enjoy The Vogue,I hear great things about it!!!

  4. I’ve been in Largs over 7 years now and this is just about the worst I’ve seen for snow. It was a whiteout as I began to write this. I can see Cumbrae once again. If Glasgow is anything like this, it would be folly to play the match tonight. (The amber warning is for the next 36 hours.)

I’m in a bus on St Vincent st , city centre shambles police will call it off for public safety i think

  6. The basic line on Radio Scotland last night was St Johnstone had nothing to lose with low expectations of winning any points from this game.

Against a team they had already beaten away from home 2 months earlier ???

That said we should be out of sight by now. Pragmatic ( he hates it I know ) approach should have been applied sooner. I sincerely hope we get tonight’s game played next Tuesday and it doesn’t hang over us. Assuming it is cancelled.

  7. I can’t believe how utterly pathetic and feart of the weather the world has become.

Lack of gritters on roads and snow ploughs,

They will blame each other about funding but it’s just a shambles even in city centre

I think a lot of it is due to increased traffic on roads and rail. A wee bit more now than when we were kids.

That, and vehicles which simply aren’t equipped for it. About eight years ago,our vans were mainly Transits. Fortunately mine wasn’t. I’m pretty capable in poor conditions, but any time one of my team got stranded in a Transit,I had to tow it. It would not move under its own steam,no torque whatsoever.

Equally,I’m sure TINYTIM is a capable driver too,but he needed help a few years back on the way to the game.

Another problem, imo,is gritters which only put sand down. And then just wait till tonight when all the ground-up slush turns to ice.

    Fun city.

    Agreed

The free kick which led to the goal wasn’t a free kick and didn’t warrant a yellow.

However the other 2 yellows could have been reds. Maybe should have been reds

Seems clear that few if any other teams will take points from Sevco between now and the end of the season (or whenever they go bust). So we will need to do the business ourselves. Take care of Dundee tonight (if the game goes ahead) and 3 points from Ibrokes will finish it.

  12. came into work via Tollcross Road and Gallowgate- there is not a chance the game will be on tonight- none whatsoever. They can clear the stadium footprint but the miles of pavements surrounding it are inches thick with snow- if this keeps up we may see Saturday’s game cancelled too.! Worst I’ve seen since about 2010 at any rate.

Unless you’re in skating distance of Paradise there is no way anybody will get there for tonight.

The footie must listen to the travel advice which urges no travelling unless absolutely essential.

    Hail Hail. Brrrrrrrrrrr

  15. There was a game on a Wednesday night last December that went ahead when it shouldn’t have as London Rd and surrounding area was a sheet of black ice. Hopefully lessons have been learned.
