Appellate body CEO taking sides

826

So the chief executive of the appellate body awaiting a decision to appeal says, “It’s crucial with league reconstruction being such an important issue for the game that we now draw a line under what’s happened”.

According to the SPL Commission the president of that same appellate body was one of the “directors of Oldco [which]must bear a heavy responsibility” for what happened.

Responsibility, however, is an unnecessary concept for the chief executive of the appellate body, who told the media “It’s not about trying to find scapegoats to take responsibility for what’s happened in the last 12 months.”

Note use of language, those responsible are now “scapegoats”.

Scapegoat, def: A person or group made to bear the blame for others or to suffer in their place.

Let’s not look for scapegoats.  Instead let’s stick to who Lord Nimmo Smith’s Commision blame, “the directors of Oldco”.  Including the appellate body’s president.

The appellate body is unfit as an appellate body and as a football association.  SPL clubs must look for a new playing environment.  Let the SFA and SFL run the grassroots game. They appear to want this anyway and I am sure SPL clubs will flourish when no longer restricted to opposition from Scotland.

Inspiring indeed Sir, you are certainly not going gently into that good night, I wish you well in your struggle, my prayers are with you and your family. God bless. HH

I did say on Thursday the next battle would be this garbage about fast tracking Sevco.

Low and behold it is slowly but surely coming out.

For that we need to make sure the history re-writers do not forget about one Craig Whyte.

His actions have put Sevco where they are. The amount of debt they dumped to reappear as a new club was disgusting and that must be the plan of attack.

Any attempts by the SFL to change things can surely be torpedoed by the SPL vote. 12-12-18 will stand but not by fast tracking the cheats using a Stranraer precedent. This is NOT a precedent as that move was agreed BEFORE the start of the season, not in the middle so it is another lie from the propaganda MSM.

We’ve seen how ineligible player precedents have been ignored in their favour, all fans in Scotland should be ready for this.

    Where’s Turnbull Hutton?

  3. The SevCo financial figures are horrendous. Ogilvie, Longmuir et al will be reading those numbers and be horrified that a liquidation event for newco is circa a year away.

They now know they will have to ‘jump’ them a division in the restructure or they are finished. Up to the fans of every club in Scotland to pressure their clubs to ensure this doesn’t happen.

If it is allowed, then the baw is well and truly burst.

  4. Nimmo Smith. Nemo Fish. Who gives a toss? The fix was in from day one. We all know this to be true.

  8. ” On the terracing at the Sevco end on Saturday there was congregated a gang, thousands strong, including the dregs and scourings of filthy slumdom, unwashed yahoos, jailbirds, night hawks, won’t-works, ‘burroo barnacles’, and pavement pirates, all, or nearly all, in the scarecrow stage of verminous trampdom. This ragged army of insantitary pests was lavishly provided with orange and blue remnants ”

Re Spartans, the SFA spotted the incompletely dated form and returned it. Spartans claim they never received it. In the eyes of the SFA the player was not registered and therefore not eligible on the day of the fixture.

LNS and his 2 colleagues performed some extraordinary mental gymnastics to claim that as the deliberate non-closure of side letters had not yet been discovered in the case of ‘Rangers’ the players reminded registered and therefore eligible. An absolute farce I know. I hope to have a very detailed post later about it all.

  11. Confession. I am not a priest. Huvnae been to Church for the occasional quiet moment and candle, obligatory births, deaths and marriages ( my own wedding being the finest, of course!), but I will be seeking out a Priest shorty for guidance.

I am a Socialist, and I believe Jesus was a socialist.

When my dad was dying, I ran to get him a Priest to administer Extreme Unction. My mother asked me how I knew to do this.

I told her: he was raised in the Catholic Faith..it was insurance…just in cae it was all true.

We all return to the fold in extremis.

The Church has been there for me througout my lfe. I don’t forgive. But at times I forgive.

If they are running at a million a month losses they are in bother.

Even if they got moved to a higher Division realistically how much would that put into the coffers? They’ll be minus European football for 3 more years at least and we all know playing in Scotland doesn’t make you money. If Season tickets go higher than 170 quid will they get the same numbers?

I don’t see a raft of people lining up within Scotland to invest while Green is there with his mystery backers who no one knows a lot about.

If they intend to spend on the team that’s more money down the pan.

    Investors want returns.

Another insolvency for a team in blue from Govan is not far fetched and yet they want to propel them up leagues?

These points should be getting made thick and fast.

What an absolute embarrassment it would be if they went into administration as a new club. There could be no hiding place for the administrators if they propelled a team up the leagues who could go bust.

Apart from maybe Hearts I don’t know of another team in Scotland losing that kind of money every month.

  16. The fast tracking / Stranraer ‘precedent’ needs nipped in the bud.

The league reconstruction that took place affecting Stranraer involved an increase in the number of leagues rather than a decrease.

They are currently placed 33rd out of the 42 Scottish clubs. If they win SFL3 they swap places with the club relegated from SFL2 and become 32nd overall. There are 8 more deserving sides in the 2nd tier of the proposed 12-12-18.

Equally imagine league reconstruction of just 2 leagues of 2 and 40 clubs. By Sevco logic if they win SFL3 they deserve promotion to the top league of 2 as otherwise they remain in the bottom tier.

Sevco operating at a 1m loss/month. That ‘successful’ share issue won’t keep them going for long.

  21. When I read of how little interest in players’ contracts was taken by SFA, I am reminded of emails sent to/from SFA committee members about the details of Bobo’s deal. The emails expressed delight that Bobo was playing hard ball.

    Anyone else remember the details?
