  1. That last bastion of truth and accuracy HITC tells us we are in for Callum Paterson from Hertz. Not sure I see that one developing legs.

I think we will see it through next week. I’d settle for a cagey 1-0 right now. Hell, I’d settle for a cagey 0-0 next week. Getting through is all that matters. We have been out of the CL group stages for a couple of seasons and are now at the point that we just need to get there by hook or by crook. Results are of utmost importance, if we get them despite crappy performances I will still be delighted.

  4. My daily Daily Ranger comment:

Why all the squirrels? RVP rumour and a ‘best old firm (sic) 11’ article.

You’d nearly think there was something to hide. I’d bet the roof over my head there is! Trouble for them is that it’s already out there.

It is reminiscent of the Celtic view late 80’s / early 90’s. Various big players tenuously linked with Celtic as having supported us as a child watching us on black and white TVs in some outpost of Europe/ the Soviet Union/ South America and dreaming one day of pulling on the hoops.

Still, if they can launder £5 million plus transfer fee then I’d say they are hot favourites to get their man.

I’m still very very suspicious about Barton and kranckjar and how they are being paid for or what kind of incentive they are on. It’s odd. Very odd. I’m pretty sure both could have earned more down south or in the states – unless of course the people in the MLS know something we don’t about the bold niko. I suspect they do.

Joe Miller was refreshingly honest in his opinion of sevco. He doesn’t see what everyone is raving about. Wouldn’t have any of them in a combined team and picked exclusively Celtic players.

We should surprise the feck oot of Barcelona by fielding our entire kids team.

Rest up our players for next Wednesday and give the next generation an experience to remember for life.

    Fassan

    Janko, O’Connell, Ralston, Tierney

    Roberts, Henderson, Ajer, Christie

    Nesbit, Aitchinson

Now, that’s a young team from our registered first team squad!

I heard earlier in the week that a deal involving GMS and Paterson was on the cards, just what I hear and it wasn’t from HITC.

    Keep the Faith!

Ludicrous pile of poop in the record today. Five of their “journos” pick a best combined XI from Celtic and Rangers.

They each have between four and six players from heir mob in it.

Only Joe Miller provides some sense, picking eleven good guys.

Oranje a Boom Boom for the Rangers Loyal

By Keith Jackson 28th July 2016

Fenerbahce’s Dutch striker Robin Van Persie has agreed personal terms on a four-year contract with Rangers.

Rangers, who are waiting for paperwork from Turkey before announcing the signing, have not yet confirmed the size of the transfer fee but it is estimated it to be close to £4m and take home pay of 50,000 pounds per week after tax

Van Persie, 32, told the website http://www.icons.com: “My agent Rob Jansen has just completed talks with Rangers and I’ve agreed personal terms on a four-year contract.

“I’m about to undergo a medical, which is always a little nerve-wracking, but I’ve been fairly injury-free so everything should be OK on that score.

“Apparently there are a few minor issues to be sorted out between the clubs but I fully expect to become a Rangers player.

    Robin Van Persie

“I’m already looking forward to linking up with my new team-mates but first I have to go to the mosque and thank Mohammed, the move came out of the blue”

Robin Van Persie in action against Scotland

Van Persie was frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities at Fenerbahee is looking forward to getting regular action

Rangers’ manager Mark Warburton is no stranger to Van Persie, having worked in London as a trader.

The move to Glasgow came swiftly, especially after Van Persie said on Tuesday night that he was keen to move to Monaco.

The Ibrox club’s spending spree does not look like ending there with Rangers also holding talks with Galatasary´s striker Wesley Sneijder over a proposed £7m move.

    Wesley Sneijder arrives at Ibrox

    Wesley Sneijder arrives at Ibrox

Sneijder has already agreed personal terms with Rangers chief David King but the Ibrox chief insisted the Sneijder deal would only go through if the Galatasary´s forward passes his medical.

King said: “There is the possibility that the medical might not go well because it is very strict.

“We would ask him to stay a bit longer on Friday, but he has to catch up with the Dutch squad and that might stop us doing a full medical and if that is the case then it is a possibility that the deal will be off.

“We have made mistakes in the past and we don’t want those things to happen again. The Ibrox faithful should look to a return of the good old Oranje days”

If Sneijder passes his medical he will earn a lucrative 2.5m per year

  9. Lennybhoy, might be a good deal though with Lustig, Janko and Fisher at RB we would have to off-load. BR seems to like Janko at RB in a 4-4-2 (I do as well – he looks decent) and I’m not sure if Patterson is any bettr.

  10. Just read back, some of the comments on here during the game were shocking. It was like a feeding frenzy to see who could slag the team off the most. I thought I’d been watching a different game. Everyone is entitled to criticise, but that was brutal. Hope you’re proud of yourselves, you know who you are.

  11. I was going to say Robin Hood to Sevco, but I forgot he stole from the rich to help the poor, but then I reiliased, its the other way around,

The Supreme Court decision on the Named Person Act again shows up the SNP as an incompetent bunch of ‘one issue’ zealots.

They fail on everything they touch – NHS, POLICE, LOCAL GOVERNMENT, EDUCATION, ECONOMY, MINIMUM ALCOHOL PRICING, OB FOOTBALL ACT, MEGRAHI, and now this ‘dog’s breakfast’

Eh Mats, there are a lot more “Issues”there than one.

Aye,right enough. It’s been going on for years. But now they’ve lost that subtlety that gave their utterances some limited credence.

  17. Decent result in difficult circumstances but I wont get carried away after the Maribor debacle, thought Bitton made a big difference when he came on last night…

  18. Re: James Forrest. This was under discussion on the blog last week. I asked whether we thought James was as good as he’s ever gonna get or whether we can expect a change/improvement. Can’t remember if anyone responded.

    Any thoughts?

  19. Great result last night proud of everyone who played, although I’m thinking the 4 4 2 doesent suit us IMO, 3 5 2…4 5 1 looks like a better line up, we gave up to much in the midfield last night and the two up front just wasent getting any service, well! Once maybe, the penalty incident , but all in all the substitution choices where bang on and it is early days, only my opinion, other than that I’m well pleased with the result, and the performance, PS I had a Wee look at the CQN posts during game time just there, honestly! There are some roasters on here.

There is definitely a player there we have all seen it in the past, he has real genuine pace and technique, clearly James has had a massive problem with injuries, offfield escapades ahem and as a result form and confidence has suffered, it has to be acknowledged that Brendan is the latest Celtic manager who sees something worthwhile to pursue, im happy with that good luck to James with Brendans help

Pyromaniac has to be considered in the big race ( the galway hurdle) but I like the plan man at a big price.

Also Camlann has to have a great chance in the race after that

Bitton oozes with class in European games, looks a totally different player than he does in the SPFL strange that indeed.imo

    ——

He has lost his dicipline in the past, against Malmo and Molde notably. He had a very poor season last year. He is one of those players if it’s going well he looks good but if it’s not he loses the head. Needs to add mental toughness and discipline to his game.

  24. THETIMREAPER on 28TH JULY 2016 11:19 AM

Re: James, to me he is at a crossroads in his career. He may want to experience football away from Scotland, at 25 he has enough good years left to make a difference somewhere. But he needs to realise he will have to put in the effort, no matter where he goes, if he wants to be a success. IMO he has the tools, he just needs the right mental attitude.

  26. Big Efe syas he’s staying:

“I am not aware of any talks regarding a move away from Celtic. It’s the same people who were behind the Bayern Leverkusen interest who are involved in this Olympiakos story.

“The perpetrators of the Bayern Leverkusen interest went as far as saying I told close friends that Leverkusen want me.

“Meanwhile, I was alone training with the youth teams of Celtic while the first team was away for pre-season Slovenia and Austria.”

Ambrose added: “I have said before that am ready to fight for my spot in the team and nothing has changed,

“It will also impress you to know that just as am reading about Olympiakos interest in me, I also heard in January the same story.”

    Good on ye Efe!
