Audit, administer, delegate

796

The comment in today’s Telegraph by Joe Ledley confirming that, in the event they win the league early, Celtic have considered giving players some extended rest period before the end of the season has a lot of focus about it.

We have Champions League qualifiers starting on 2 July and hopefully extending six games later in the last week in August, all plans must be made with the objective of being as strong as possible for these games.

Last season APOEL Nicosia got through the Champions League group stages, beat Lyon in the last 16, before being stopped in the quarters by Real Madrid, but their European adventure this season was ended in August by Neftchi Baku.  Rangers run to the Uefa Cup final in 2008 was quickly followed by an August elimination at the hands of the mighty Kaunas.  We don’t need reminded of what happened in 2005, when the club formerly known as Artmedia Bratislava, and no longer playing top flight football, caught Celtic cold.  Five times.

I’m keen to hear from Celtic on policing and stewarding at games. The club have to be attentive to all season ticket holders who feel they have been poorly treated, by police or stewards. Processes to deal with such matters must be open to supporter groups to audit, perhaps even to administer. Delegate thus, and you resolve many concerns.

The Lions Roar event at the Kerrydale Suite on 1 March, with a film of the 1967 European Cup final, will have commentary from Bertie Auld, Stevie Chalmers, Bobby Lennon, Jim Craig, John Fallon, Charlie Gallacher, Billy McNeill, John Clark and John Hughes.  Mike Jackson will also be there with Billy.  Tickets went on sale six days ago and there are only a few left…..

  1. Kojo,

Your hypocrisy is matched only by your stupidity.

I cannot make myself any clearer for fear of offending you.

I wish you everything that you deserve.

  2. Good point weeminger. I know a very mild mannered telecomms manager who turns into a complete heid the baw within 500yds of Celtic Park.

First time his fiance witnessed this she started greetin and said she wanted to go hame. “Aye. On ye go” he replied without so much as breaking stride.

  3. Kojo…..anyone can think and say anything they like. I respect that.

You’re always spot on about matters Celtic, but I would guess our political views are poles apart.

Matters not a jot to me.

At least when people are open with their beliefs, that, in itself, is common ground.

    We are a diverse bunch.

    Long may it remain so.

Mind you, I’d roast Iain Duncan Smith on a spit, and he claims to be a Catholic.

    Just like Adolf.

  7. The GB may not be all things to all people but whats not to like……? I’ve been in stadiums all around the world and nothing comes close to this……

  8. Noo here’s a wee bit of advice, that I thought might have been offered by those who are prepared to make the bullets and are quite happy to stand back and watch somebody else fire them. If you don’t want big Peter sharing your details with Police Scotland come next season I would suggest that you submit your season ticket application in the name of your wee mammy who has probably paid for your season ticket.

Have you ever thought of starting your own site?

Now you put it like that, I couldn’t be bothered! I did like when everyone was concerned with amortisation, rather than having a pop at the encumbent regime. This site was built on a study of football finance and has grown arms and legs since, I feel that the focus has shifted over the last few years, into things which are not sporting issues. Just worried the site is being trolled, and offering a potential solution.

  10. Oops I had things I meant to do. It’s been as enjoyable as ever to hear other’s point of view and adjust mine as a result. Educational as always.

Auldheid a lot of problems could be avoided if Celtic simply communicated the truth, stopped insulting our intelligence and stopped briefing their unpaid apologists.

    =====================================

The truth as I pointed out can change over time. What was said at one meeting can easily be changed by an unforeseen event before the next.

That is where trust comes in that the reason for the change is believed and the default position is mistrust rather than trust and it applies to both sides.

  20. Amongst the Ad hominems and personal insults Kojo never use are the terms (and these are just a random sample from tonight):-

    Bully

    Kojo Hater

    Coward

    Common as Muck

    Malcontents

er…well….when he uses them he will try to slip them in as adjectives, adverbs or similes, so that he can continue to claim he is innocent of ad hominem stuff but he means to insult all right. It’s just that the recipients of said insults are a wee bit less thin-skinned than The Sage of Airdrie, who, if the not-so-subtly disguised insults fail to satisfy, adopts the sock-puppet approach of having his “pal”, TSD, do the direct insulting

Accusing the GB of being a “disguise” for other purposes, when they present as Celtic fans and, with sheer unawareness of the concept of irony, advises the GB to censor their programme to his wishes whilst whining about all thae bad people who fail to accept his rationalisations and wish to persuade him to shut up.

If I can assert in the Molly Weir vernacular you love, “Aye! Chance would be a fine thing!”

    Cue TSD

  21. Yay! I had to try and draw a line on late night drinking/cqning. I looked in a few times over the period but everything was a bit too shouty, I didn’t want to post through the old rangers thing, everyone was going mental and I still kept drinking, but always remembered that something is the better part of something else, or something like that, anyway, kept my powder dry, so to speak. Glad to know you are still around!

  22. Bob

    Aye, that is CQN.

Yes kinda want to post, but realise there will be hassle, or pendants, or just loads of people that know more than you.

And then you have another wee drink….
