Not the time mate. Not straight after that result

Just WTF have the Nats to do with the British Broadcasting Company?.

    ###

The point is that the anti Celtic/pro hun bias is a characteristic of BBC Scotland but not of BBC UK.

But the cult supporters deny it.

So they’re either dishonest or delusional.

    This is EXACTLY the time.

The manager has worked minor miracles in six weeks having inherited a complete and utter shambles.

The Board should be pressured from every source into supporting this man in his efforts to rebuild our club.

He has been banging on for weeks about players running on empty.

He needs reinforcements. He doesn’t need beancounters playing Operation ShortHead or worse, playing Operation SmartArse trying to keep the G51s in the game.

  4. Petec, there are many more mistakes to come, granted. Thankfully der Hun are not anywhere near the standard we faced tonight. Ave Ave

I have to say that over the years I have detected a degree of goodwill towards Celtic FC and it’s staff from UK BBC so long as there is no poisonous BBC Scotland involvement.

British broadcasting, the first 2 letters of BBC to me it defaults to the propaganda wing of the state.that state.it marshalls and defaults to defend the union.

The same organisation who knew and done nothing of Jimmy Saville we are expected to think they don’t news manage-news by not investigating, not reporting in a fair and balanced way,.. better to narrative build and become what they loath in a murdochesque manner.

A good win, reminds me of karagandy.we got the breaks.and we have been short of them.

    A happy and content tim

  6. Broadcast BBC in Scotland is Hun Central, Sky TV is Hunbelievable too.

    They are controlling TV rights.

It’s annoying to say the least.

Just now I’m as Happy as the Proverbial pig in shit, however it was a bruising encounter , Bhoys need rest & recovery, we go again on Sunday, it won’t be easy there.

If this new, young, team, with a load of derby debutants in front of screaming hordes do better than getting well beat it will be a mark of Ange’s management skills.

Don’t forget it’s his first trip there as well.

But tonight was a huge performance, and it’ll be fresh in everyone’s memories

  8. stebhoy- we agree more than you think,,absolutely we need better quality, if you have the Man City GK and back you can pass out from the back…..we do it far too often, and sometimes tonight it was ridiculous .HH

    …………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Perhaps efter newco Struggling against 10 lately the MIBS will refrain from evening up the game (Celtic 10 – Sevco 11 players), or go mair rabid and send 2 Celts off for little reason.

Stay Tuned as Newco need that £40M jackpot.

As a person , Ange comes across as being worth 10 of the shiftless ned . As a manager , I think he will be worth 10 of him too . If it’s not proved on Sunday , it will be as the season progresses . Just give him the means to prove it .

  11. BBC Scotland Radio News have repeated the same in their last two hourly reports. Celtic’s cal;amitous display but a narrow victory thanks to a 3-0 (wtf) home win in the first leg (news reader, UK Craig, East Belfast).

  12. We missed the Ayrshire Superstar tonight as a sub

hiope he is ok for sunday

    On the board backing thing

I work in a company with few levels , like a football club

i run the process improvement so put in a system such that all deals go through gates, approvals etc such that the goal is that no deal is rejected by the board

the board don’t do analysis , they expect the operational people to do their job and explain why this is the best deal

in Celtic , the CEO should be run through the options and recommend to the board

as such, the Director of Football/COO/Chief Scout and the Manager should put the case and options to the CEO

The Board backed the club with funds in 2018 and 19 but the CEO recommended bad deals which those below put to him

The Board did not back the club with funds in 2016 to 2018 , hence no deal by the CEO and staff went through

what was worse? debatable but by the PLC process the blame for any failure in 2016 to 2018 was on the board. We did not fail in the short term

The blame in 2018 to 2020 is firmly on the CEO and staff as they recommended bad manager and player deals

The strategic failings of the Board in 2016 to 2018 are apparent to me but much harder to pin on them due to the football success at the time . The phasing of investment is beyond most supporters patience or focus

I’m talking BBC UK sport coverage over the years of Celtic.

My opinion over many years is that they have a respect for our club and our staff. UK BBC used Mr Stein and Mr McNeill on live coverage of games at a time when such was still a novelty. They have a degree of regard and I believe respect for us which I have never experienced from Pacific Quay.

I do not equate the BBC UK v BBC Scotland sport coverage debate with their constitutional political coverage or indeed their news coverage in general.

Both as a rule are as you say deferent to the UK Government meant of the day with BBCs mission statement contains a line to the effect of “defending and promoting the Fabric Of The Union”.

  14. SQUIRE DANAHER on 26TH AUGUST 2021 11:37 PM

    This is EXACTLY the time.

Maybe tomorrow after breakfast, or after the hangovers worn off. For now enjoy the moment, like JHB’s proverbial child (or junkie). I think it’ll wait

    CELTIC40ME on 26TH AUGUST 2021 11:56 PM

    I am enjoying the moment.

I hope some of the feel-good factor our manager has developed over the last six weeks, re-energising ould curmudgeons like me in the process, rubs off on our custodians and they maybe give him a hand.

  16. It’s fashionable to Bash the Board but this year we have a new CEO & so far this window we have been busy.

Already 4 of newbies, Hart, Starfelt, Abada & Kyogo are first team regulars.

Juranovic is just in the door , I reckon he will be joining them.

Scales supposed to be joining tomorrow but I reckon he won’t figure in first team anytime soon,

Maybe in a minority but I think we are doing OK in recruitment process, would still like another couple in though.

  17. Hope everyone who is going to BMCUWP hoot on Sat has a great time and talk all opinions

shame i was over 2 weeks ago and will miss it

  18. We have made it through that’s the bottom line , but that defence needs work done on it . Every time that team attacked us was danger without us giving them a helping hand . Before the game that defence was a concern to most of us on here and so it proved . A tough as teak commanding centre half is a priority . A left back another priority two positions that should have been strengthened ages ago . Looks like right back position has been filled , hope he is better than some of our previous signings . For spells tonight our midfield we’re not at the races either an area we have been buzzing so far this season , But pleasing to see better performances second half , Eddie made a big difference . Lbada tried hard .kyogo were maybe looking for too much from this wee man ,he gets some abuse . Tom rogic just not in the game tonight ,we get this from him to often and imho should have been subbed earlier but super player if we’re fortunate to get to see it . Christie was tremendous he has some engine in him . Turnbull seen him better too . We have the makings of a right good side , but were not there yet . Tuesday is coming up fast will we get the players required time will tell , but I won’t hold my breath HH

  19. Aff tae bed.

I knew at Celtic Park that AZ were a very dangerous team.

    They were not one dimensional.

Thats a massive step for Ange and the Bhoys, he defo needs backed by the hierarchy. Our bench was not remotely good enough but we got through.

The Huns (thems and their mediums) will be at it all the way until 12:00 on Sunday.

Ange expect thems @ full strength, oh and that Bhoy Adam is a player alright.

    ———————————————————–

Too true, what a difference he makes. Sadly so injury prone, Forrest’s never truly fit anymore. Ave Ave

  21. Ralston has been immense but there must e a case for starting Juranovic against the Hun & give the Bhoy a rest,

Would like to see McCarthy start as well to give us a bit of dig in midfield.

    However in Ange, I trust.

Off to my Leaba, a Happy Bhoy.

    God Bless Glasgow Celtic.

  22. What a difference a good manager makes [ and this is not an assault on past ones] a manager that believes in his philosophy, installs this belief in his players, backs them to the hilt, and in my opinion never back’s down on this strategy

we are in for a grand old time

  23. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Couple of weeks ago Alkmaar were a great team who were pipped by PSV by a single point to 2nd place in Eredivisie.

Tonight, according to some, they were good but not great.

    I enjoyed the second half.

They came out and went straight into a ten-minute “bust a gut” drill to break us.

    We withstood it.

From 55 minutes onwards, I felt confident we would go through.

    Ange is an impressive bloke.

While Michael Stewart was babbling his well intentioned nonsense about naive formations and the need to be more cautious ….

    …. camera cut to Ange.

I saw a man in complete control.

You could see it in his face.

His team were going to play HIS way and they were going to suffer while they learned to do it.

    No pain, no gain.

The group will be stronger for tonight and there were signs already of their strength.

Starfelt looked like he wanted to run away and cry after the own goal. He pulled himself together.

Hart had a mare for the first goal… but look how physically relaxed he was as players bore down on him. No tension, just a man going to work.

Ralston and Welsh are actually quite limited footballers. An extra half-yard of pace would do wonders for each of their games.

But they are both really tough lads, physically and mentally. Am full of admiration for them.

    Credits to the jersey.

And, if you want a smirk, check out the two shared bonus pools for the Europa League this year …

… the TV Market pool and the 10-year Coefficient pool.

By qualifying we just took a huge chunk of revenue away from Sevco tonight.

    Night all.

    Hail hail

    Keep The Faith

    We’re Not Half of Anything

    19-1

We share a city AND NOTHING ELSE.

  24. Squire Danaher

And jeez they defended that ‘fabric’ in 2012 over the liquidation of rfc.they are still knee deep in the mud of continuity for the unions symbol in Scotland.read its trust view. from then

    Till the morra mate.

    Night Celts

    Hh

  25. BACK TO BASICS – good summation. Delighted we did the biz over 2 games, which is what this stage is about.

Ralston to Abada to Furahashi was a smash n grab of the sexiest variety.

As somebody else kinda said, we gifted them two and repelled all other efforts by a bruising, physical crew.

For Sunday, the huns plan is to rule-bend so they can play their rested COVID cases against our battle weary bhoys. Not a game to debut Juranovic or rehabilitate bunga-bunga Bolingoli.

Mark of a good time is to grind out results even when it’s not your finest day or night. HH Ange!

  26. NORRIEM on 26TH AUGUST 2021 11:16 PM

    Bada

Personally I would be giving Adam Montgomery his chance

*that’s what the late great TB thought before playing a very young Barry Smith against laudrup who tore a new one in him. IMHO that game pretty much ended young Barry’s Celtic career.

  27. Delighted..what a great goal..two shambolic goals…weathered the storm and few of the younger lads will have learnt so much from that aerial bombardment late on..thought Welsh was immense.

Apologies for next bit but some pish posted earlier

BBC Scotland are not only anti Celtic they are anti Independence in a very big way and dont care to hide it, just like the negativity they have for us.they have become more and more Pro Tory and Unionist imo.

    Hail Hai Brothers

  28. Well done Ange and all the Bhoys. That was a real rollercoaster but most importantly, we have qualified for group stages. Be good to get Legia Warsaw in our group, even if it’s just to see the holy goalie play one more time at Paradise.

Best players for me were Ralston, Welsh and Montgomery ~ all defenders, all Scots!

BTW,Montgomery came through the Celtic Academy as a forward, only converting to a defender ahead of his breakthrough into the first team.

    Happy days are here again!

    In Ange we trust.
