  1. We’ve had some very young players for us tonight…especially at the back..

To play most of the game with 3 out of your back 4 aged 19 & 21 & 22 is a great achievement.

    Welsh – 21

    Taylor – 23

    Montgomery – 19

    Ralston – 22

    Soro – 23

    Turnbull – 22

    Abada – 19

    Edward – 23

i agree. The prosaic nature of a blog doesn’t convey the emotion and contrarian journey through a game.

my example would be the first Rodgers treble , Rogic final

I had a great night on the Friday at a wedding Present gig in the ABC on the Friday with a good pal; bumped into a school pal after and we all went to an indie disco in the Admiral. Great night

went to Kitty’s with my schoolmate and his pals for the game

everyone moaning like hell , especially when McLean missed a sitter

My mate having a massive rant when i pointed out that Rogic had received the ball in space and was going to score

he said ‘what are yiu tallking aboit?’ but looked to the screen; gradually everyone did the same as i screamed that he was in

    bedlam, tears, hugs

all equal in celebration no matter how positive or negative

one of best nights of my life,,,,

…. because i saw it coming first!!!!

Rangers overcame a Covid outbreak, stifling heat, and a limited 10-man Alashkert to clinch a Europa League group stage place for the fourth consecutive season… failing to add to their 1-0 first-leg cushion, a goalless draw ensured safe passage against their Armenian hosts, who were reduced to 10 men for more than half of the contest.

Celtic survived a torrid night in the Netherlands to edge past AZ Alkmaar on aggregate and reach the Europa League groups for the fourth season running.

i have never understood why it matters to most people on here what the media say

it doesn’t influence the results, only winds up fans

    Celtic overachieved in this tie

    The Rangers underachieved in theirs

We have a great spirit for Sunday and Ange learned lessons

They know they peaked last year and are reaching for results

we are still on track to not lose and likely win

    hail hail

  11. Petec, Edouard was man of the match for putting the fear of God intae them, haudin the ball up.

  12. Sionnaigh,

Eddie Bhoy got a great reception @ the weekend and I hope he stays if just for 1 more Season if he is on it like Ryan is at the mo.

You are correct that Eddie was the game changer but young Adam really stood up to pressure and secured the left side of the defence like Fort knox and he is good wae the ba’ at his feet.

Incredible performance for me by the young lad.

  13. CONEYBHOY it doesnt matter how the BBC choose to read out the news? One might expect an editor to fact check and not to give a hun carte blanche to read out loud whatever to the nation.

  15. For me the 1st goal was 90% Welsh, 10% Hart. Had he been quicker off his line would he have prevented it? Yes. But he came out, realised he wasn’t going to make it then tried to stand up as much as possible without getting himself sent off which less experienced keepers would have done and the tie might have been dead.

Slight hesitancy yes, and poor decision at a punch at the edge of the box but some good (although not peak Forster or Gordon wondersaves).

Starfelt has some big errors in him but part of that is settling in. His stats are generally better than Welsh’s. The own goal was a bit absurd.

Both had a ragged but ultimately successful night in the end.

Still think the Taylor hate is way over the top and completely ignores the statistical facts of his performances. Lots of fan bias. Montgomery did well thankfully and hopefully he can develop this season.

This wasn’t a night for Rogic and we played far better when Christie swapped into the centre. This was partly down to them tiring but on a night you need massive energy in the midfield it’s not a night for big Tam.

Would love to see Eduoard on the left and Kyogo through the middle (with some swaps) this season but again Eduoard doesn’t put in enough of a shift, or a press to fit well into this system. Certainly not against better or even high pressing teams that can be dangerous.

Soro was a breath of fresh air when he came into the team last season but I don’t think he has a good enough touch for an Angeball midfield.

Wondering if Juranovic might end up a defensive mid?

For the end of the window I think we really need:

    – A conclusion to the Eduoard ordeal, a commitment to stay and impress for the next 12 months, or to leave.

    – the Greek striker if Eduoard leaves, and maybe even if he doesn’t.

    – Scales looks like he could be really useful although hard to judge when the quality of opposition isn’t the highest (although is it in Scotland?)

    – it would be great if we could pick up a loan signing of an experienced centre back to help add knowledge until Julien is back.

    – Christie to sign an extension. Don’t see Lovric coming now but maybe if Christie is sold.

    – it’s now looking extremely foolish and costly that we extended Griffiths deal, and Ajeti is another that something earth shifting needs to happen for.

Good recovery for the big Swedish pro, which helped us to the more appropriate league, our supporters deserve. But the only way was up, when you don’t know what foot to kick with and choose a pitiful playground Angus. Carl’s problem may still be dislodging blossoming Stephen Welsh when Julien is fit. Joe Hart also kept us in the Europa where Barkas and Bain playing together, wouldn’t have.

Ralston, Welsh and Montgomery were colossal, whilst the excitable commentators waited on the home goals, AP’s men stood firm. The key wasn’t the sieve but midfield, where levels of fitness and legs proved the battleground to the Europa.

Ryan Christie and Calum MacGregor toughed it out for 94 minutes, and Christie was offered a new contract in the showers shirley ?

Ralston to Abada, to Kyogo was a thing of beauty, abberation’s in between don’t matter, not the greatest of Celtic sides it was hardly Nicholas and McCluskey in Amsterdam but AZ is now up there with Ajax, and Celtic go through.

  18. I had a wee look-see over on an enemy forum and Celtic are the top listed of the Pot 2 teams. Sevco also Pot 2 but a good 5 or 6 places further down the ranks.

The ingrained, institutionalised, systemic anti Celtic, pro hun bias stops at Gretna.

    It really does.

  20. Petec, the bhoy Adam did well. Didn’t seam phased, oozed confidence. Starfelt came onto a good game in the second half and cleared his lines timely – Hart also, kept the bhoys calmy on their toes as the game went into lockdown at times.

Thought the much maligned (by me, sometime !!) Edouard was the difference tonight – turned the second half tide when a third AZ goal looked innevitable.

  22. I have read back this thread and it seems to me that there are loads of Hunposters posting on this site and are influencing some actual Celtic fans.

    We won

    We were never behind

We gave away 2 freak goals tonight

In Ange we trust. He never lost his cool or belief

  23. Bournes. “Of all the sieves in all the towns in all the world he has to walk into ours’ I think that will sum the big man up. Welsh! Couldn’t agree more HH ☘

  24. Malone Bhoy,

Obviously it depends on personel, I’d love to see Odsonne play the left side attacker again at the hate factory.

Let Kyogo do his thing up top. Ange will know what to do.

Signs of the old Odsonne Eduoard tonight . Extending his contract would be like a new signing!

  26. Tom McLaughlin on

Bottom line – apart from an own goal and a handing on a plate, AZ didn’t score. Great defending for last 30 minutes, even from Starfelt.

    Tremendous result.

4 weeks until first group game, after high pressure games every week for 6 weeks. Nice break until we consolidate.

    Well done Celtic.

  27. glendalystonsils,

Dinnae think Odsonne will sign another but if we can get him playing like he has last 2 games – It’s well worth it.

  28. Sutton called it at half time that Rogic should go off for Edouard. Hartson said not very much.

Big John seems to be intimidated by Chris who clearly likes a wind up

enjoyed the two of them though

as Ernie said earlier, 2 one in a million screw ups don’t happen and we win 1-0. On the flip side, they missed a sitter first game so it should have panned out 3-1 to us not 3-2. only one goal out and we deserved it
