  1. Go tell the Spartim on

Levein- the guy who refers to us the whole night as the opposition

You’d only listen to the Beeb if you had no other alternative

We’re still at the early stage of our development some quality additions now and then in January and we could have a promising season domestically, Europe is always fun (I’ve erased last year from memory, as well as some of the 80’s and 90’s)

Let’s spank this mob on Sunday

    I’m with you mate.

Some of the comments during the game were piss poor.

  3. Big Euro nights to enjoy.

Some of the groups in the CL,deary me.As usual,Man U get the easiest.Give us a season under Ange, and we can have a pop at it.

    Over the Moon tonight.

    Sleep well Timland.

  4. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

    Ralston a warrior tonight.

Fair play to Ange and Dom for getting us to the Europa League given the utter shambles they inherited from Lawwell and Lennon. Incredible achievement, especially when you take into account the difficulty of the draw. 👏👏👏👏

  5. We still have huge amounts of work to do to develop as a team.

Any of our throw ins in our own half is big positive for the opposition.

We just do not have the attitude / confidence / energy / imagination to keep possession.

Plus we have no physical confidence or capability at the moment to deter a cynical / aggressive opposition. We are currently relying too much on the MIB to play it straight and that is not a strategy for the SPL and as tonight showed we cannot rely on EU refs.

what is the problem at the club? kyogo tried to run a whack off. Are you saying he is out for Sunday because he played on?

honest question , i have not heard about post match news, feed died at full time

  7. The second half must give us some defensive confidence. Well done Celtic. Progress against a proper European opponent. Philboy is right, some of the comments on here tonight were pish; but the team performance wasn’t. Weaknesses, yes. Good points, also yes, second half a proper credible performance. Credit where it’s due to Edouard. Terrific outcome.

  8. Half of you posters would have been booing Celtic at half time tonight.

    Just what the lhads needed.

    Shower.

  9. Tom McLaughlin on

Tom English: Yes it’s disappointing for Scotland to see Aberdeen and St Johnstone going out and Celtic could have gone out as well.

    Jesus wept

  10. We’re through!

This style whilst we attack we will concede, hopefully not like those errors (which are more likely to happen more early in a season)

That said, showed we had bottle to reset and leave the errors behind us.

    On we go to Sunday🍀

  11. Thought we were as skillful if not more…..but we were way behind in physicality……way way behind…..it is such a huge part of the modern game !!

I saw Scales for last 15 mins. Playing in midfield. Had a great shot saved and covered loads of grass

Raw but looks a good buy

This is EXACTLY how it was presented on the BBC site:

`If Celtic do go through, they’ve gotten away with it tonight. They’ve given away big goals and played themselves into a lot of trouble at times`

    How did Scales play?

    —-

    wash watching Celtic, not S.R.

By all accounts he didn’t play as well as AZ’s Afas, who was outstanding :-)

  15. Julien will definitely improve this team, possibly also Juranovic and Scales. Exciting times

  16. What a result. Honestly thought getting through to the Europa League group stages was well beyond us 6 weeks ago. Not the best preseason for us by a mile, terrible first match and then boom!! Ange-ball arrived.

Played a team tonight who were well drilled and knew they needed to press the hardest they could to ‘break’ our formation and game style. A he held farm and they players overcame ‘the shakes’ (and we have all had them) to keep belief. Touch and go, I give you, but second half they ran out of steam and the pitch opened up to us. Relief and delight in equal measures and belief that we played a better team tonight than the Other Orangemen we will see on Sunday. By the way, was that the producer’s son in the stands that the cameraman kept on cutting to for a close up???

  17. And here’s a weird one but usually I’m going up the walls when Celtic are playing, but tonight my dearly beloved had a performance of Mozart on in the background…Symphonies 39, 40 and 41 from the Proms…a young Russian conductor…and the outcome was never in doubt. I didn’t even need medication. So now my match day ritual is green socks, green pants, Celtic mug for my early morning tea and Mozart symphonies at kickoff.

  18. CALLEYROADBHOY57

You’ve never seen a dud in nearly 60 years? Gary Caldwell in his pomp would struggle to emulate Starfelt’s own goal tonight. No threat from a cross, no one near him, and he still contrives to score an absolutely ludicrous own goal. Does not bode well for his future.

  19. Not bothered by commentators or pundits, only what I watch on the pitch. We are not fooled by dishing out domestic drubbings, the Scottish League is very poor so, from a very low base, we have put out a Dutch team with a bit of a pedigree. Well done Ange, you and you alone deserve the credit for giving us some Thursday nights under the disco lights.

Now the board have five days to get some quality additions in the building.

  20. Super Ange! What a hero! Against all odds! Terrific night for Celtic and a great result. We shot ourselves in both feet first half and I fully expected one of our defenders to administer the coup de grace to our qualification chances in the second half but we prevailed.

Oh and Adam Montgomery exuded class. Out standing performance son.

  21. Packy Bonner on Radio Scotland asked about Qarabag beating Aberdeen –

“It just shows you that small countries, perceived small countries, are doing almost quite well too”

  22. Ange got the guys to dig in second half …. AZ we’re getting a bit ragged as the game progressed overall we deserved to go through … work in progress in 17 months it will be a wonder to behold watching the tic

  23. Well that’s us through , and if there was any neutrals watching that game they would have enjoyed it ,both sides gave their all . We hung on so let’s be happy with that . How many times would we have conceded the last minute goal/goals that would have gutted us ?

We know we need more in , but what we have ain’t half bad.

    Up the hoops

BBC/CNN the msm “special relationship”…that’s why they mis-speak (sic)..

Thank god our own man is in the White House. Celtic Joe

  25. All this after one transfer window. We’re a team on the rise with plenty of room for improvement

    Compare with the mouldy Huns.

  26. Alkmaar 40 years ago reached the UEFA Cup final, losing narrowly to Bobby Robson’s Ipswich.

Much more of a level playing field then.
