Every team in world football gets a hammering once in a while. Barca got absolutely horsed by Bayern last season, did they not? That was brutal tonight but it can happen. Barca were fantastic tonight and we were poor. We lick our wounds and come back out fighting.

    God bless the Glasgow Celtic

    T4

Nice wee touch it was too ….and they haven’t got any of it back yet

  3. Barcelona can do that to ANY side in world football. We all accept that.

The heads went down – that is harder to take.

The signings have now two options – shape up between now and May or be moved on.

This was the end of an era for me and a new Celtic team must now emerge to take the place of the last one.

    No excuses, no nonsense.

Build a team in time for next season or this side won’t even make the CL.

They were lucky to do so this year but that luck will not hold forever.

Move players on, bring new ones in and get a team ready.

I’ll accept this was a transitional year and I’m thankful we got away with only losing 6 tonight.

    That cannot happen next year.

  5. Ah well got to take it on the chin, I feared the worst, they do that to most teams, tonight it was our turn, not pretty painfully actually, you would honestly swear they where on some thing my god they just don’t stop, the energy is just unbelievable .

When are we going to rid ourselves of these dastardly fans who brought shame on our club and made our team lose by 5 goals against a team that was humiliated by an average Dutch team? Lennon and Lawell have been great, pity these fans conspired to ruin everything, shame on then. Hey but we are still the best supporters in the world and it’s more important to preserve that image than actually be competitive on the park, well it is isn’t it?

  8. I’m so stressed I don’t think I can manage a rant.

hope the supporters on here keep the faith at least half as much as our away fans.

    though I somehow doubt it.

    Doo-dooo doo-doo-doo!

  10. Seriously….

This Barca side will not reach last 4 without A fully fit Messi.

There are at least 4 better teams in Europe.

I am sorry but I wouldn’t give any pass marks to any Celtic player tonight big Efe at this level is as slow as a week in the jail. The midfield was non existant and Lennie got it wrong again. We need to move on put it behind us and start building for next season. H.H.

Can’t agree with that, as a way to learn from a football point there is merit in what you say.

As a way to progress in the CL it is flawed.

Show me the money! It’s that simple.

We have earns fortunes in the CL this year again, spend wisely come back next year and learn some more. If we drop into EL at group stages we will be financially hamstrung.

    This group was difficult.

Who would want those diddies ?

You’ll not be able to give them away if they continue to perform as they are now

  16. charles kickham on

oh dear -not just the team that took their eye off the ball this week – the board were too busy with the GB – how does brand CELTIC look tonight worldwide

  17. Neil Lennon again put a player in that had not played first team football after a significant period. Adam Matthews. Also played out of position.

Neil also played two wingers in the Nou Camp

Played the same shape of team that was shown not to be effective against two Italian sides.

    Result 6-1.

    Happy Scottish Media

Loss of potential income for a point or 3

Happy Sevco- I wonder if they will have that video in Sports Direct for Christmas

    Questions being asked

    Worst ever defeat in Europe

Sammi looks back to the player he was two seasons ago

At least that will put off some of the clubs chasing Forster and Ambrose.

Biton has played how many games and then gets a start in the Nou Camp?

  18. glendalystonsils on

Tonight was abysmal but truth be told, we have been disappointingly poor in our last 3 CL games .

I’d love us to do a bit more than just qualify for the groups.

  19. Only consolation is that we’re not Napoli.

Win 2-0, finish on 12 points and still out.

In a strange way, it’s easier to lose when you’re well beaten – it’s the cliffhanger defeats that are hard to take.

Last year was over achieving – reversal to the mean this season, unfortunately.

  20. the long wait is over on

    Delia

Sorry but fundamentally disagree , even if it were possible.

If we play against the best opposition we can and don’t learn from that then we have to change the personnel but if our history and image are as important as you suggest being anywhere other than the top table and that by choice is demeaning and , frankly , cowardly.

Playing and even doing well in a second tier level because we’re afraid to compete in the top league is definitely not what Celtic is about for me and would be completely empty.

Sorry , my friend , in Celtic but my opinion.

  21. Delia Smith@2136

I ask again. How do we get into the Europa League? There seems to be no route other than by default.
