Better have Dresden expose some weaknesses

851

Technically we’re not preseason anymore, but today’s friendly away to Dynamo Dresden is an important step.  There are six weeks before the end of August, with five Champions League qualifier match days in that time.

Tuesday’s gentle introduction to competitive challenges was probably a good place to start for Celtic, this week’s run-out at Murrayfield will allow more of the squad to get some miles under their belt, but you can be sure we will meet our match at some point in the next six weeks.  It would be better for all that Dresden expose as many weaknesses as possible (at the time of writing that doesn’t look likely).

As usual, the mantra for these occasions is: no injuries.

Legia Warsaw are on league duty this evening. I hope we have someone watching.

Agree. silence is no longer golden.

We have kept our powder dry for too long now.

I do hope our silence constitutes an alternative strategy which will lead us to a new environment.

The alternative is the “Old Firm and normal service”.

Are we really that gullible. ?

Good luck to Donegal for tomorrow’s Ulster Final.

Whether the County win or lose the All Ireland this year, I think that Jim Mc.Guinness will step down from the manager’s job.

I expect that he will then take up a full time position at Lennoxtown.

    Only a hunch.

No cannot use the park and ride for long stay.

There is Scot park or Fly park ? At exactly same area, left hand side , instead of right.

For the difference in price, you are generally as well doing the airports own long stay, sits right at side of airport and a wee bus every 2 mins, or airport surface terminal, sits right at airport, and decent value.

I have just booked 17 days stay ( October) at airport surface £119, right at front door, long stay was £99 for same.

Worth noting it is vehicle registration recognition, once booked, you can also use multi-storey, cameras cannot distinguish between areas

    I use it every week

thomthethim- RD said a couple of weeks ago he wants Jim McGuinness more involved with the first team,so you could be right.

  9. Gordon Legia lost 0:1 but played only four from first squad tonight. Two debuts for young guys from Legia Academy. Three substitutions in 46 minute of the game. We are not in form but should have won.

My youngest son (17) is travelling up from England with two of his pals to Murrayfield – His first Hoops game without me or his mad uncles. Obviously he won’t be able to go into any hostelries – because he’s only 17 you understand – but I’m trying to persuade him to wear my CQN beanie – if you see him give him a kick up the arse.

captain beefheart- I think it’s hilarious that Betty will be at CP for the opening ceremony, the vermin say they will be there protesting, geez peace,no one without tickets/accreditation will get within miles of CP.Has she ever been to Poundland ? Even the lights at Celtic Park have been changed to blue, and the stadium is draped in unfamiliar colours, the east end is virtually a no go area for the games, and Celtic head home to Murrayfield.

I’m at a wedding, outside having a smoke and only saw three posts before your’s and have read no further so I’m not aware if it’s been commented on.

I visited Celtic Park last week to buy some merchandise at the superstore and was shocked by what I saw.

Our stadium looks like an armed fortress. It’s akin to what would have sullied the landscape of the north of Ireland during the war. This week the Queen of Britain and British soldiers will adorn its turf and be proclaimed by all those who look in at the splendour of The Empire Games.

Michael Davitt will turn in his grave.

    Z,

Evening. How many tickets do you expect Celtic to get for Warsaw? By the way you asked about Bamboo and me and our silence on Ukraine. It is tragic that the EU and chumps like Ashton interfered in Russia’s backyard.

    Indeed Bada.

I’m partly basing my hunch on that quote.

Also, if he wins the All Ireland again, then he can go out at the top.

If he fails, I think that the knives will be out for him, as I believe he has ruffled a few feathers along the way and if there is one thing the GAA bods don ‘t like, it is their feathers being ruffled

A full time job in sports psychology would suit him down to the ground.

  23. Bada Bing. I think we will play it :-). Captain Beefheart. It’s not tragic what you say. Tragic is is those innocent victims. You miss the essence. Legia Warsaw stadium is circa 30k. I guess Celtic can get between 2 and 3 k tickets.

My wife and daughter were at the rehearsal for the opening ceremony tonight.

They had to go right up the new road to the Gallowgate then turn down onto Janefield Street to get to Block 107 and that was before going through security.

The rehearsal finished around ten and they only got back to Dalmarnock Station about twenty minutes ago. The staircases leading from the stadium behind the ticket office to London Road are blocked off.
