Technically we’re not preseason anymore, but today’s friendly away to Dynamo Dresden is an important step. There are six weeks before the end of August, with five Champions League qualifier match days in that time.
Tuesday’s gentle introduction to competitive challenges was probably a good place to start for Celtic, this week’s run-out at Murrayfield will allow more of the squad to get some miles under their belt, but you can be sure we will meet our match at some point in the next six weeks. It would be better for all that Dresden expose as many weaknesses as possible (at the time of writing that doesn’t look likely).
As usual, the mantra for these occasions is: no injuries.
Legia Warsaw are on league duty this evening. I hope we have someone watching.

“Michael Davitt will turn in his grave”
—————————-
On the contrary Michael Davitt in his later life was a great supporter and advocate of advancement of the British working class and was fine example to myself of someone instrumental to the principles of founding the British labour movement.
The commonwealth games and in particular Celtic FC have advanced the lives and conditions of the East End people. Our club was founded on the same principal of helping the poor of the East End.
As I said previously, and I reiterate a price worth paying.
HH.
Z, of course you are correct about the innocent victims.
Thanks for the response.
You will forgive me for hoping that the Bhoys thrash your team. I will try to attend the games.

!!Bada Bing!!
I like yourself don’t know if she was at Ibrox after the disaster.
On that basis, I share your concern and remarks about possible inappropriate humour.
HH to you.
Watching the Glasgow Girls just now on BBC 1, it’s concerning if that is the way refugees are being treated.
From experiance, in staying in the double block in toryglen with my kids ten years ago, any refugees I met were hard working and their kids were well mannered.
Surely if we can accommodate the likes of mad dog and his ilk, these desperate people can be helped!
Right you 2 you’ve goatmaatenchin

I hope the small minded will give it a rest and hope the games go off well with a great opening ceremony at CP, her Maj included.
If that was aimed at me mate, just say it,if not ignore.I could not be less interested in the CG to be honest,i do find it funny the hun hordes will be spitting feathers.HH
Phyllis, if he has any bother…..
Getting to and from anywhere.

I’ll send you my mobile number, if needed I’m close by.
Sipsini,
99 percent of my colleagues are immigrants (overwhelmingly Polish). They are the hardest working people on our site. Add Latvians to that as well. It is a farce as my supervisors don’t speak English but I respect their work ethic. The CQN thought police would not like the non PC comments from them though.
Z – i was asking if you think you will go through v St Pats mate HH
Doc, apologies, will drop a text to bus committee themorra, or to Sean, to find oot
Would think own wee bus will be going ?
Hail Hail
Greenpinta – ditto HH
G64- greetings from Tenerife :), is VP back mobile again?
Our own wee bus would be perfect, if JG is driving, I’m wearing a helmet:-)

Thanks Doc – appreciate that.

Mad as hatters with hearts of gold.
Captain Beefheart.
Just back from Benidorm today.
The PC thought police would have heart attacks at some of the “comedy” acts there.
Very notable the Celtic tops in the audience.
I make absolutely no comment on the acts only that the reality is that they exist.
I am very sure the same acts were on when we held the Celtic convention there.
HH.
Bada
Buenos noches grande hombre.
In the words of Willie Nelson
VP is back on the road again.
G64- good news ,he was gettin frustrated with situation last week.Amanda fae behind the bar got engaged btw.
Bada Bing I did not watch the game but the press said it was the worst Legia performance in Europe of all times. We played experimantal squad. I’m not hundred percent certain we will go through but I think second game will be different and we should beat St. Pats in Dublin. Out of Europe at this stage would be catastrophe. Can’t imagine us not going to the next round.
Gordon64,
I will be the one people sometimes mistake for you even though we have never met :-)))
jamesgang
Must have been a past life,
Me I’ve been Bourne again :-)
HT, hope you get this tomorrow, or next fag break.
Commonwealth Games, good for Celtic, PR and financially helping the redevelopment of CP, good for the East End.
Progress, moving on, forgiving and forgetting.
As for Michael Davitt turning in his grave, yes he would, then, perhaps, but perhaps not now. Times move on, to stay in the same place would be to stagnate. We don’t do that.
Celtic Park – opening ceremony of the commonwealth games
How much does that hurt ?????
Michael Davitt will be laughing along with the rest
Every commentator from the commonwealth will have to explain the history of the stadium and the club that lives in it
‘Our revenge will be the laughter of our children ‘ oh how we laugh
Hail Hail
!!Bada Bing!!
It wasn’t aimed at you actually. I’ve no idea what your outlook is.
I’m a Falls Road man myself and was never a big fan of the monarchy, still not really. However, times have moved on and I’m delighted CP is hosting the opening ceremony and I wish the games every success.
Bada In scale from 1 to 10 Football Magazine gave two Legia players marks 3, seven got 2, one got 1 with suggestion to find any other job. The goalkeeper got 5.
Cowiebhoy, they were in row F.
My daughter should have been called Frances Spencer, she is that accident prone. I would be surprised if the seat she was in is still in one piece.
Hopefully the regular stewards or FOCUS weren’t about.
No doubt FOCUS will resurface on Tuesday to cause problems where very little exist.
I saw some of the Seattle Sounders Spurs game earlier, Seattle had a an ultra style group singing ans waving flags, no hassle from plod was visible.
And not forgetting the Daddy
BobbyMurdochsCurledUpWinklePickers
whose words of wisdom keep the blog sane.
