Better have Dresden expose some weaknesses

851

Technically we’re not preseason anymore, but today’s friendly away to Dynamo Dresden is an important step.  There are six weeks before the end of August, with five Champions League qualifier match days in that time.

Tuesday’s gentle introduction to competitive challenges was probably a good place to start for Celtic, this week’s run-out at Murrayfield will allow more of the squad to get some miles under their belt, but you can be sure we will meet our match at some point in the next six weeks.  It would be better for all that Dresden expose as many weaknesses as possible (at the time of writing that doesn’t look likely).

As usual, the mantra for these occasions is: no injuries.

Legia Warsaw are on league duty this evening. I hope we have someone watching.

    Petec, so it was 1-1?

I’ll take either in the next round. If it’s St pats, it’s a shame they couldn’t experience the same atmosphere at paradise as the bhoys from Cliftonville did.

Marrayfeild is a magnificent arena but it’s not paradise.

    Pete,

Today’s game was anything but a friendly.

We were up against a team of thugs and in the first half Kayal and Biton had the measure of them easily.I was pleasantly surprised with both of their performances.

I really like the cut of Henderson. What a workhorse.

I have resigned myself to Deila more or less working with what he has until hopefully,we make the group stages. He might get a few bob then.

  11. How come The Republic of Ireland have no representation at the commonwealth games. Are the not part of England’s once great empire?

I don’t have problem with the commonwealth opening ceremony being held at CP. I do have a problem with the butchers apron flying there though. It should never be flown anywhere in Scotland.

It was defo 1-1, Irish fitba is getting stronger and the St Pats will have a really tough game this week. The Irish teams are better than the Scottish teams, with the obvious exception of Celtic. SFA, what have you got to say?

Winning Captains, great photo’s of the zombie hoard. A special mention should go to the braindead wonder who’s holding up the 30 mph sign, their team are geriatric and I doubt their zimmers will reach half that speed.

The jaky red faced clown and tinfoilheid look like a scene from the brokeback ibrox sequil, “biff me blue”. They make a lovely couple.

I missed the game, sleeping and going through the comments it was Brilliant that Nir was selected first, IMO. I hope Beram also cements his place in the midfield, although I think he will play a Brilliant 6 months and move on for free, I hope the 2 Israeli’s win that Big Cup together at Celtic. As Kojo says, Beram is going to be sensational, again… Will Celtic pay him the Money to stay, before he is tapped up.

Loads mate, but where is the time?

I never see Irish football so cant comment on the strength od their teams. Great to see St Pats and Cliftonville in the mix.

Ultimately this season will see no Irish team in the CL but hopefully we may see one in the not too distant future.

    Me? I’m supporting Celtic.

As I say, I’m staying neutral on the St Pats I’ve L. Warsaw game. I’ve got Polish friends who I’d love to have taken to paradise.

I’ll take either and I think we’ll take either and go right to the play off’s.

    Pete,

Friendly or not,I thought Kayal should real hunger and desire and his passing was crisp and accurate.Biton can play,no doubt in my mind.

He is strong and has a good quick eye for a pass.

It’s deffo make or make for Kayal.

I think he can do it.

I fully understand that, I’m a St Pats pupil, I have no Polish links, well not that I know of.

I have a very good Polish friend in work (not worked alongside him for years, unfortunately), well he listens to my ‘nonsense’ and he engages me with the Spiritual stuff etc.

Petec, cool banana’s my friend. I’ve no issue with that whatsoever.

BRTH, seeing winning captains pics made you think of a song?

They made me feel sick. Sick that three years down the line after they should have been wiped from the face of the earth they are still here. Still giving us their vile sectarian abuse and demanding to be heard as relevant in Scottish football.

The thought of them entering Celtic Park again turns my stomach.

I don’t have a song for them right now that would do justice to how I feel about their vile supporters. Suffice to say, I really do not like them, they make me feel sick.
