Beware snooping TV mics

640

Offensive, insulting and abusive language is not condoned on CQN nor anywhere else but if you’re mumbling to this effect while typing more prosaic comments we don’t have a problem. If, by some clever use of technology, I discretely caught you on mic while recording a feature for CQN and broadcast your words it would be my fault, not yours.

If Neil Lennon addressed insulting or abusive language at an official or opponent then he should be correctly disciplined, but if, as reported, television microphones picked up randomly comments there is no case to answer.

We’re getting back to the days when directional radio mics were used to pick up sound from Celtic fans getting off buses outside Falkirk Stadium in 2009. This one feels opportunistic and is not balanced by audio from other technical areas under scrutiny. If this is how the SFA want to control technical areas, they should issue advice to this effect and introduce appropriate measures, not attempt to discipline Neil Lennon without precedent.

  1. Another hot week in perth.. So much for summer being over.

Regards lennons charge.. Celtic need to fight back. Surely it doesnt take a genius lawyer to wipe the floor with sfa considering all the info on the famous oglive and the ref/dallas/pope scandal.

    Rotten to the core

    Goodluck saturday everyone

    Til the last✊

  2. Nothing in The Sun today from Craig Whyte, which would suggest that it’s been shelved, if there was anything in it at all. If he has a story to tell though, why not just publish online or via twitter, don’t use the mainstream at all.

On another note I feel genuinely sorry for Sandaza, who is the victim of a not particularly funny joke and an employer who seems hell bent on cutting costs. I hope he finds another club soon.

  3. Sandaza sacking.

I said at the time that I thought Tommy was wrong to do this.

For me it wasn’t funny , infact I found it cringeworthy.

He has allowed Sevco to cut 10’s of thousands of their wage bill and cost a gullible ,possibly greedy man ,his livelihood.

    Not classy.

  4. Paul Hartley would like Sevco FC fast tracked to the SPL! Another former Celtic player who sold the jersey. He joins a long list of fuds – Burely, Walker et al.

    Ghood for you M8 !!!

But…have you considered an – alternative view ?

    I’ll take that as an – Aye:o)

Right here goes…what if – the bored are sitting tight

hoping that the establishment – chase Neil oot the door ?

Maybe the bored have a new manager up their sleeve as we

    type ?

Surely…the bored must know that – SB sales will be down ?

The bored will not accept any blame for all the empty seats and

will slither their way oot of the noose and – I might be wrong but

more rucks for Neil and – no back-up from the Celtic hierarchy(now

there’s a surprise) – all of that might just convince Neil that he’s

putting oot fires for a collection of – toothless tigers.

    I might be wrong ! But…..

  6. What is it about some ex-Celtic players?!

They join the club and come out with stuff like – “It’s a dream come true, always been a fan, I’m the happiest guy on the planet…”

They then star for the club, kiss the badge and are idolised by the fans.

    Then they leave.

… and proceed to sh*t on the club at every possible opportunity!

Thankfully there are a few notable exceptions – these are the REAL Celtic mhen!

    HH!!

  7. IMO Lenny would not be short of suitors when he decides to leave Celtic. Don’t believe any the ‘big clubs’ would be interested however ambitious mid table EPL clubs certainly would.

Sandaza was under the false impression that he was involved in a private conversation. He said nothing defamatory, or anything that could be interpreted as being damaging to the reputation of his employer.

Compare and contrast with the following:

    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/neil-alexander-rangers-me-truth-1806133

In which it is implied that: sevco are lying about the contract negotiations; NA was given an express instruction from his employer not to speak to the press ( with the exception of their own media office); sevco are unwilling to discuss an improved contract as the company has an unwritten policy of removing higher earners from the wage bill (this could severely weaken sevco’s ability to negotiate future contracts); Cammy Bell’s pre-contract is at a significantly lower level than even the reduced terms that NA was willing to settle for ( unlike Sandaza, NA is also disclosing, by implication, details of other employees contracts); Sevco, by the actions of their media office, are not a trustworthy employer.

    Has NA been suspended yet?

Tommy from Glasgow is not responsible for Sandaza’s dismissal, neither is Sandaza.

  10. swatson Neil Lennon's 6ft skinny twin! on

Funny how all the guys who want Sevco fast-tracked are guys who were paid thousands BY football, when all the guys who don’t are the guys who pay thousands TO football???

Leeches the lot of them and were the lifeblood!

    Mmmm —–

” We played very badly . We made terrible defensive mistakes . It will be very difficult to come back from being 3-0 down . It would have been easier at 3-1 but the Referee turned a penalty into a suspension for our top goal scorer.. It must be great to be a big club with a name that frightens Referees “.

  12. So according to the rads Lenny’s “spat” with Goodwin has gone “viral” on YouTube.

Just looked and see that there have been 301 views. Hardly viral, more like an old darts target!

Also interesting to see that Keech seems to already know that Neil will moly get a rap on the knuckle rather than a further suspension,

Now, just who would have told him that.

The whole thing stinks. If I was Lenny I would accept the title, take it to the GB again, get the half way line mike and announce I was off ski, blasting the SFA, MSM and also our board who have give him here haw support in the matters.

  13. So it seems the only (ex) Celtic men wanting sevco fast tracked are the ones being paid for their opinion.

Doesn’t that compromise their opinion somewhat?

I’ll give you my views for free.

  14. South of Tunis

Total consensus on Radio Nacional de España that Galatasaray should have had a penalty. Even Pirri, albeit reluctantly, agreed.

This is as unusual as it would have been to hear Gordon Smith agree on Radio Scotland that a team should have had a penalty against Oldco Rangers.

Not that I’m comparing the two men: Pirri was a good player and is also a doctor.

  15. Has Paul Hartley or any of the fast-trackers given a coherent reason as to why Sevco should be fast-tracked?

Has anyone even given an incoherent reason?

Stuart Cosgrove is the only one I have heard call this right: “If it’s all about money, you should fast-track, but you should admit it’s all about money.”

  16. 'crushed nuts?' 'Naw, Layringitis!' on

Former sevcovians have either left because they felt they were getting shafted or they have been given their harry potters. How many former employees have been interviewed by the MSM?

Hartley et all are footballers, when they are asked loaded questions, or even worse, deliberately misquoted, they have very little means of reply.

Even if he did say what the DR attribute to him, you have to wonder why he’s even discussing it given that he’s now managing Allow. It’s a stock response: SKy; competition;crowds; the good old days; dropped standards.

He’s just another footballer confirming the ‘brains in his feet’ stereotypye.

  17. Celticrollercoaster

Celtic might vote down a resolution to seek compensation from the SFA or The Rangers if football debt lives on after liquidation but they would have to give their reasons in writing and in public so the support would at least be better informed.

They might on the other hand welcome a shareholder resolution in order to make the point to the authorities and SFA in particular that their inability to do their job in a professional manner costs clubs lots of money and that unless the governing body shape up the PLC ( two can play that game) have no option to do as shareholders have voted and pursue legal redress.

Making professionalism at the SFA a part of the governance of our game would be the aim for me as a supporter and shareholder rather than financial compensation because as things stand the SFA are not only unfit for purpose but appear unwilling to even admit that they have questions to answer.

Its a long game but if the principle of SFA accountability is worth making its worth waiting.

Whats the source of this Paul Hartley story?

Paul Hartley is a very good Celtic man but dont let that stop the rushing in to condemn hm.

    Fortunes Favour Mibbes .

Real deserved to win . Galatasaray’s defending was dreadful.. Terim’s point was that the Referee not only failed to give the wee team a stonewall penalty but also ensured that the wee team would have to play without their best striker in the return leg. He wondered why .

  20. Morning bhoys, damp in the mountain valley, but hun free as ever.

The ref last night at the Real game was shocking, a homer to the core.

In the space of 10 seconds, two real players kicked their oppos in the head, not a yellow between them.

It’s good to see that certain teams are on track to make the final.

Space was big enough for a corporation bus. Kenny was being guided by his Missus and was half on half off the kerb.

    Celtic First .

Pirri was a very good player . Memories of a bar in Ceuta which was decorated with lots and lots of Pirri related memorabilia…

Gordon Smith’s finest moment was when he took part in explaining to the nation why Cadete’s goal at Ibrox had been disallowed ——- he went from offside – through to it being handball or a push to finally settling for – ” The Ref must have seen something ”

    Pathetic !
