Broony Lewis, Fraud or not, Establishing Locus

370

Been in conference in deepest Manchester for a few days, has anything happened? First of all, well done to the captain for the whole onesie thing. I remember the days Celtic View staff had to campaign for days to get a word from a Celtic player. Notions that the senior players would roll their sleeves up and get involved with media, commercial or Foundation projects were fanciful.

While the move to Lennoxtown has no doubt been good for players and coaches, fans seldom get to see players in less formal roles, like this, or the now frequent Celtic shop visits.

BroonyIf you’ve not seen the video, check it out here.  It’s a Joy of Celtic kind of thing (which I know you have in spades).

Fraudulent or not?

Lord Haw-Haw: Yes.
William Shakespeare: Maybe.
Celtic, East Dunbartonshire and NHS Greater Glasgow: No.

Audit Scotland yesterday announced that there were no fraudulent activities surrounding the purchase of Lennoxtown by Celtic. Imagine that!  Celtic paid full price, including tax…

CQN and others spend years predicting the fate of Rangers and Murray International Holdings. The evidence was there, if a little hidden. Just because one group of fans can successfully uncover significant information on another club, doesn’t mean that any or every club is managed in an illicit manner.

The tip is: if you’re going to put a lot of time and effort into something, chose your subject carefully. Otherwise you not only waste your time, but you miss a whole lot of more serious action.

Establishing the locus…

….what you need to do before you are considered appropriate to mount a Judicial Review of a process. Mike Ashley did this yesterday, despite his 9% shareholding in Newco. Fan groups wishing to pursue the SPFL, should they fail to look at the goings-on at oldco in the light of various recent legal matters, will need to convince a judge they are entitled to ask for a Review.

There is a clear route for pursue, should it be necessary.

On Ashley’s Judicial Review of the SFA’s decision to fine him £1000. If the Association are wise they’ll capitulate now. He knows what they don’t, he started this action knowing he has enough to win.

So what would you prefer, Newco fan money goes into Newco, or is held for a more productive moment? I reckon they should pile in now.

  1. Injuries and suspensions have given opportunities to players on the fringes of the first team to step up, please Ronnie pick your best defence available and instuct them to defend as if their lives depended on it , have a shape and dont over commit to attack, use what pace we have in Griffiths and Forrest to counter quickly, if we play the way we have with full backs pushing on together we will be punished.

Good luck to Ronnie and the players, I hope we win this.

I know where you’re coming from with the sixteen team league, hasn’t it been stipulated that they can’t change the format for next season.

    Then again… :(

My team for tomorrow (before we hear of anyone else who’s out) –

    Gordon

    Lustig, Simunovic, Boyata, Tierney

    Armstrong, Ambrose

    Forrest, Commons, Rogic

    Griffiths

Subs Bailly, Izzy, Mackay-Stevens, Allen, Ciftci, McGregor, Nesbitt

  5. Don’t know if it’s just me but I have never known a more subdued atmosphere before a European game. I’m normally chomping at the bit to go but won’t be there tomorrow night, strange times at Celtic.

On another note I have loads of old Celtic gear both adults and kids and was looking to give them to charity. Has anyone got any details of where I could send them? Thought I seen BRTH mention before a charity? Many thanks, H x 2, Cambhoy

  6. Cambhoy, for me the Molde game was the eye-opener. Atmosphere totally flat, stadium barely two thirds full on a Euro night.

Could hear the players shouting at one another.

Despite everything, feeling optimistic about tomorrow night, though I have no real idea why!

  7. wee try at a team,

    Gordon

    Lustig Boyato Joze Tierney

    Armstrong Rogic Allen

    Forrest Griffiths Ciftci

    Subs no idea

There are 5 players in that team that RD signed or so he says.

A win tomorrow could be a turning point for this squad of players but i still think they lack strength.

    KTF fingers crossed

Awe Naw – No idea why you would want to move Tierney into midfield when he’s not even established himself at fullback yet, surely that’s asking too much of the guy. We need to try and establish a settled back 4 and play them as much as injuries and suspensions allow, whether that Izzy or KT is up to Ronny…We already have an abundance of midfielders, play players in their proper positions….

  9. ITALIABHOY –

Re the Molde game I do think that the 6.00pm kick off and the pouring rain didn’t help the atmosphere.

I think tomorrow night will be completely different. The online ticket site looks as if there may be around 45,000 – 50,000 attending.

Full house at Man Utd and all you can hear is the pocket of PSV fans singing…prawn sandwiches brigade out in force…

Depending on wether Commons is fit or not my team would be

    Gordon

    Lustig Simunovic Boyata. Tierney

    Armstrong. Rogic

    Forrest. Allan. G.M.S

    Griffiths

Mulgrew shouldn’t go straight back in,especially in the middle of the park, where he has been shown up in Europe in the last 2 seasons,I’m not a fan of Ambrose but would rather see him play in midfield before Charlie

  12. Tierney should be left back tomorrow, Izzy should be on the bench. Tierney been very good both defensively and going forward in both group stage home games, Izzy has been poor in both away games.

  13. Team v ajax…..Gordon , Lustig jozo boyatta izzy,..armstrong mulgrew..forrest rogic gms….griff….Cant for the life of me see a Win..not with the players available, with a full team .l think we would win …i Expect to lose…

  14. The big surprise is that Chico Mulgrew got a mention as being available, suggesting he’d be picked. Not the kind of game you want to return in, after being out injured for months. If he plays we’re desperate, and he probably wouldn’t last until Inverness IMHO.

I’d consider Tierney in his natural position at LB and play Izzy in front of him, this would free up Armstrong to try and find some form in a more central role. His problem is he’s not tough enough

    to play there.

I agree with others we need a minor miracle, everything else is bravado including RD’s comment that “it’ll be more open than Saturday’’

Privately I’d bet he’d bite your hand for a draw with Ajax, given our form and missing players.

    WEST END,

I think if we want to win we need to gamble. Apart from Leigh he is the only truly creative player we have. I would also play Wee James on the other side.

  16. A fair few must be lumping on Ajax with bet365, they have come in to 19/10 from 21/10.

Still a good bet for those who think we are gonna lose, nothing from me, cos I don’t think we will lose, if Efe plays we will win handy.

  17. Ronny’s luck and honeymoon is now coming to an end – two Euro and two league defeats will seal his fate and he will be home in Norway for Christmas – Brown’s injury will be the catalyst.

  18. West End of East End on

Awe Naw – If you want to gamble play Stuart Armstrong in his natural position through the middle, play Scott Allan in his natural position (who the Dutch wont know much about) gamble by playing 2 up front, not by playing an 18 year old out of position which could set him back…

Tell him he is playing against Molde as left back and tell Izzy to cover. I think he is tbe only one thart can hit a cross apart from Sokesy and is willing to have a pot from outside the box. Kris excepted. Allan is even less experienced at this level. Armstrong hasn’t delivered for weeks.

I fear P.L.`s statement at the A.G.M. has locked us in to Ronny for the foreseeable future.

    Unless there`s a resignation.
