Readers of Celtic Quick News will know that our club has not been out of debt since Fergus gathered up our cash in 1994 and set about building the new stadium. 19 years later, with the mad arms race which consumed Scottish football over, we stand on the verge of coming out of debt.
The full consequences of this will not be known for years to come but the first material benefit is the £100 discount per season ticket Celtic announced today. We’re no longer in debt, we can team-build in a measured and sustainable manner, and with Champions League money in the bank, Celtic have cut prices.
I know season ticket holders who missed out on the Barcelona, Spartak and Benfica games as, on top of everything else, they could not afford Champions League tickets. If we get back to the group stage next season, supporters will be able to buy their season tickets and Champions League group tickets for less money than they paid for SPL tickets this season.
The return of the £50 under-13 ticket is also very welcome, along with a tiered level for older children. With so many competing distractions, it is important that we bring as many young people into our community as possible.
Peter Lawwell’s comments underline the importance of bums on seats to everything that happens at Celtic, “The backing of our fans has, as ever, been crucial. Domestically and in Europe they have once again been right with us and we felt it important that we rewarded their commitment by making this gesture”.
More welcome good news for the Champions.

convict set to rule Ibrox…cam this get any better?
Hats off to the board for the decrease in the ST nice gesture in these hard times hopefully a few more getting along to support the hoops especially the young ones they are the future and seeing a winning side will always keep them coming back nothing surer, Don’t no if It’s just me but can’t help thinking this is going to be a special time in the clubs history and in 20,30 40 years time we will be talking about lennons teams just like we do now about the 60s and 70s and the lions just a great time to be in the ‘family’ HH
Barca will win 12-4 on aggregate
….PFayr
Agree re: RM (assuming they reach the final) – they will ‘cement’ the likes of; Muller, Robben and Ribery early.
Ticky-tacky has taken a severe doing tonight as BM go 4-0 up.
This’ll be 3 semi final knock outs in 4 years for Barca. Think they may need to sign some defenders in the summer. Puyol hides so many deficiencies but when he’s not there they are poor defensively.

They just want to spread the CL around the big leagues to keep the money rolling in, that’s all.

since 2.30pm and everyone we’ve spoken
to has been keen really complimentary
and keen to confirm their own prices for
next season.
“Initially, renewals will be online and over
the telephone only but we’re looking
forward to processing all of these when
the lines open at 9.30am tomorrow
morning (Wednesday, April 24).”

True! lol!
Gene – not meaning to put down Dortmund, but Madrid have real quality to add to their power & speed. Bayern v Madrid will be some final.
Barca were one of the greatest club sides of all time, but the game has moved on and they will have to adapt. We can only dream about being involved at this level.

Given the money PSG are throwing at it they must have a chance in next couple of years

I’m not sure, hence the question.
Had asked my oldest son if he wanted to come back, even just for some of the games, he refused. It doesn’t excite him, his case is nowt to do with the price of course.
I might use any saving to upgrade me and the youngest’s seats. Otherwise I’d struggle to give it to our club.
Dare I say it – Barca look as if they could do with a V67 prowling in front of their defence. Someone to break up attacks and make the simple pass to the ball players.

I forgot about them – silly money club

OK accepted ; but just imagining a quote.
Night Night
4-0 Bayern FT. Thoroughly deserved, though 2 of the goals shouldn’t have stood. Barca as poor as I’ve seen them since pre-Pep team. No defence, no attacking threat, midfield keeping possession but no one to give it to.
Remember shares can fall as well as plummet !
McGill’s Bus Services was initially owned by Alex Kean, a former taxi and local bus operator who had previously sold the Ashton’s Coaches/GMS business to Arriva in 1997. In October 2004 he sold his 50% share in the firm to the Easdale family who owned the other 50% through their company called kylemuir limited, which also runs a number of taxi firms in the Inverclyde region, as well as several non-transport businesses.McGill’s co-owner Sandy
Easdale was convicted of fraud in 1997,being sentenced to 27 months in prison at croydon crown court, south london for selling stolen computer parts and vat fraud, prior to the creation of the firm, but rumours linking him to organised crime have been dismissed by Scottish Traffic Commissioner Joan Aitken.

You are right but I think Victor’s 5 yard passing isn’t good enough.
I also think Victor is our best player.
