Googybhoy ye stretched the page …..

Use the link creator it’s easy, even I can use it :>)

Sorry about that I usually do. It was a copy of previous post.

As a member of the Fat Bhoys club I feel more comfortable in the wider version;););););););););)

    Apologies Paul67.

  2. Charlie Richmond came from nowhere to ref our game against

    Motherwell.

Yesterday he was nowhere to be found in SPL …. not even fourth

    official.

It will be interesting to see when he next appears.

  3. I’ve never been one for singing the Rebs at CP but the latest campaign by media, polis, Snp and spl has changed my mind. Political songs are not illegal. Blast them out Bhoys.

I’ve even looked out my wee D tin whistle. Tunes which I’ve not played for years are now getting blasted out ( badly).

    Good wee story btw.

  5. Is ‘Match Commander’ the new black?

For decades the phrase never was written nor uttered but it is

    difficult to avoid it now.

Yesterday at Ibox the Saints boss was cautioned by The Match

Commander. The manager had made an offensive gesture which

    was noticed by the police.

When was the last time the police noticed anything offensive

    at the Whyte House?

  6. googybhoy – there was me thinking the incident which caused the most fascination might have been the bombs sent to the Celtic manager and prominent Celtic supporters, the death threats, or the (non) assault of a manager on the touchline by a fan.

Either me or tom english clearly require a priorities re-adjustment.

  7. Morning all from sunny Jersey. Just got back last night after enjoying a great visit to Glasgow. A week ago on Friday I was privileged to meet my first CQN’rs. Lennybhoy and bundoran bhoy were my first two and two excellent guys they are. I went on to meet a dozen or so on the Friday and then again I was invited to Oneal’s on the Saturday.

One of our more esteemed bloggers made a comment outside on a smoke break. He told me ‘that of all the CQN lads he has met he had liked them all’. I thought to myself ‘thats a sweeping statement’ but one I can happily endorse, I know what he means. On Tuesday night I was also lucky enough (along with Mrs G and my mother) to enjoy the company of Vmhan♣ and derryghirl. God bless you all on CQN.

  8. Larsson and McStay on

Having watched the game yesterday , I thought it wasn’t a great performance , but the bhoys on the field got the job done.

I thought our travelling support were excellent , although I’m now anticipating a fresh attack in tomorrow’s media following more offensive singing and chanting at the game.

We’ve no excuses this time…..I clearly heard , in the 2nd half , the Celtic support , probably to a man , sing “Terry Butcher ….you’re a wa***r”

Hormonally raging , pubescent teenagers up and down the country must have been livid !!

  9. Have now watched our game in full having had to tape it as was out and about yesterday.

Therefore had the misfortune of having to tune into Radio Scotland’s match commentary at the time. The biased commentary really is dreadful. Any time a Celtic player was fouled, Rob McLean said he “went down easily there” or in the case of Majstorovic taking studs in his leg, he went down “theatrically”.

When our second goal went in I actually wasn’t sure we’d scored such was the monotone in McLean and Bill Dodds’s voices.

    Their pain is palpable.

    Keep twisting the knife Celtic.

  10. I don’t know if anyone watched the Sunday Morning Live programme’s discussion on racism. Basically, it was about England (although purportedly it was about the UK). Only the last contributor mentioned the sectarian abuse meted out to our manager. A real form of racism says he, a Jewish rabbi,

I read Esplin’s (that well known supporter of the bankrupt sou siders) report in the Observer about our game at Inverness. Basically, he gives Butcher’s view on the sending off and spends much of the remainder of his piece trying to blacken our support’s name, while having to admit that they didn’t sing anything he could criticise. No mention whatever of their kicking us off the park.

  11. Beautiful sunny crisp day in the valley, was out all day yesterday and was very pleased after watching the Celtic game to goo to BBC to see that Coisty’s Cowards had dropped points!!

Celtic delivered a performance that got the points and considering the injuries and the tactics of ICT, we did well to get a result.

Well played Young Lions, special mentions for Victor and Anthony for me the difference between the two teams.

Don’t get me started on the refereeing again a poorly officiated game, it seems no two refs in our league have the same understanding of the rules.

Onward to Wednesday and our next must win game.

A lot of football still to be played, Hail Hail The Celts Are Here.

    Away Support take another bow.

Re Richmond, he wasn’t even officiating in the Scottish Cup yesterday, not good enough for the likes of of Bo’ness Utd, Inverurie Loco Works, Irvine Meadow or Auchenleck Talbot?

Or maybe he has been “suspended” after that utterly woeful performance at Fir Park??

    Whatever happened to honest mistakes?

I guess the interpretation of the phrase is decided on whether Celtic benefit or not.

A accurate match report from yesterday

    Inverness Caledonian Thistle 0 – Stevie O’Reilly 2

Scottish football is in turmoil after a referee with an offensive name made sure that Celtic scored two goals by sending off an innocent player. The referee beat an Inverness Cally side who were playing like Barcelona and had totally out played Celtic until the sending off.

Statistician’s in the Scottish press have proved that Celtic did not even get a touch of the ball until Greg Tansey recently subject of a £55m bid from Real Madrid was sent off. The controversial incident happened in the 36th minute when Celtic’s Georgios Samaras violently through his face at innocent by stander Tansey. Referee who never seen the incident sent Tansey off after consulting with his assistants Mr Neil Lennon and the Virgin Mary.

The loss of European player of the year Tansey was massive blow to Inverness but they battled on against a rubbish Celtic side who with the further help of the referee scored two jammy goals one of which was miles off side.

Speaking after the game mild mannered Sir Terry Butcher showed all the dignity and humility that comes from captaining the Glasgow Rangers when he said “Our lads stuck in there but after Ki and McCourt came on in the second half we could not live with them. I love Celtic”. After being pressed on the sending off a dignified Sir Terry told the press pack “I thought the referee had a great game”. This was in stark contrast to a snarling Lennon who had to be restrained from attacking anyone within a half mile radius of the stadium.

Sorry for not replying sooner, but yesterday was a ‘hit-and-run day’, celebrations and all that,!

You may very well be spot-on! Unfortunately!

  16. An unbelievable discussion took place on Radio Scotland at half-time yesterday. It was suggested by someone, I think it was Richard Gordon, that the ref should perhaps rescind the red card at HALF TIME and approach Neil Lennon to see if he would agree to allowing the Caley back onto the pitch for the second half.

    You couldn’t make it up.

“Or maybe he has been “suspended” after that utterly woeful performance at Fir Park??”

    No, surely not.

I was told by all and sundry that he had a decent game

    and that fitba’s a man’s game

and if some people get their way tackling will be outlawed.

I think he must have been at a wedding or some important family thing.

  18. Stokes and Wanyama were the stand-out players yesterday for me, with the Irishman just pipping the Kenyan to Man of the Match.

Wanyama’s best play came in the first half, when he was more involved due to Inverness dominating the middle of the park, due in large part to a shoddy performance by Beram Kayal – someone yesterday described it as playground football and I can’t disagree, a shame as he looked to have got over his early season duffness.

I actually thought Stokes’s first half was even better than his second. He looked a tad sharper and more alert than the rest, mixing a fantastic work-rate with some intelligent play, let down at times by his strike partner.

I said Paddy was tailor-made for a ground like Inverness, and I thought he showed that yesterday- some great mazy runs, and he’s also demonstrating greater overall awareness – it’s just a shame that he only got 20 minutes, but he didn’t put a foot wrong.

Finally, Ledley was excellent in both halves, and he had a lot to do as he wasn’t getting much help from his midfield partner. He cut out a lot of Inverness attacks and restored composure in the middle of the park.

One more bum note, I’m afraid – El Kaddouri. It’s become clear why Neil has been playing Matthews at LB.

  19. Gordon_J, it’s dreadful to listen to. If they mentioned the sending off once they must have mentioned it a hundred times. Unfortunately I had no option to tune in as I was out and about in the car yesterday.

I’m sure plans will be drawn up to re-write the rules of the game and even the laws of the land should we get to close to the title!!

    Oh hold on a minute!!

  21. Mr X.

Listened to that discussion myself. To be honest I think such a suggestion has some merit. I know it would open a real pandora’s box and the decision making process would take some tying down but it would go some way to ensuring fair play to any player who was red carded incorrectly.

The interesting point of course is that said discussion took place when the ICT guy was sent off. Had it been a Celtic player red carded in similar circumstances that discussion may not have taken place.

  22. Oh my …..

Let’s look at yesterdays red card incident….

Tansey knew that he had no chance of winning that ball…

As a football player in such times you go fir the header hoping to put pressure on the opponent enough toput him off…

Tansey was not remotely interested in the ball let’s make that clear!

His eyes were solely on sammi … Unfortunately for him… The refs eye was solely on him knowing exactly what he was doing!

That in itself is a booking !!!!

However going for the player with his arms above his head was purely idiotic

And when he connectedwith sammis face in an ‘uncontrolled’ movement he was leaving himself open to a straight red !

Fortunately it was his hand that caught sammi in the face..

With no control it could have been his forearm or his elbow that is dangerous play and can resultin broken jaws nose or cheekbones…

    Technically

    The ref was100% spot on!

If he was going for the ball and not the player? It might and I stress might! Have been a yellow, unless he was Naismith and he would be merely stretchered off with ‘poor naisy’ cries from the media .

  23. Steinreignedsupreme on

Tansey led with his elbow – had Samaras not been as high as he was then he would have taken the elbow full in the face, as it was he got a hand in his face instead.

A hand to the face is a red card in the modern game. Scottish referees may ignore this rule when Rangers players are involved (Barry Ferguson grabbing an Aberdeen player by the throat at Pittodrie a few seasons ago, Elbows McCulloch raising his arm to the face of an Aberdeen player at Ibrox a couple of years ago) but that doesn’t alter the facts.

The reaction to yesterday’s dismissal is similar to the Nakamura free-kick incident at Love Street where the referee is getting shredded by the Scottish media for making the correct decision … and that decision favouring Celtic, of course.

Mind you – that particular referee paid us back big time midweek.

  25. Inverness should think themselves lucky to have finished the game with ten men, a proper referee would have seen them reduced to 8 men, Foran’s challenge on Big Dan was thigh high and that trollop Shinnie tried to “do” Paddy.

Funny how these teams set out their stall to kick us off the park and start greetin’ when it comes back to bite them on the bum.

Try cutting your grass and playing football ya mugs.

LisbonBhoy……..CAREFUL………you’ll get offered a job by the daily ranker…..!!!…….LOL………if he had broken Sammi’s nose he might have got a yellow card……..did naebuddy tell the pundits ‘leading with the elbow’ is a red card……especially when you huv a wee look to make sure you don’t miss the target….!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do we always give them an excuse to concentrate on a negative aspect of a game………Smmi should not have made a fair challenge for that ball…..when is he ever going to learn……!!!

And when are Celtic managers going to learn to stop complaining about other teams over-watering piches, and leaving the grass long……..Neil, it’s not a case of trying to prefent quality football being played……the lawn-mowers just keep breaking down………..

Oh by the way, didn’t hear the Radio Scotland commentary at ipox yesterday…….preferred to take my grandson to the Cinema……..did anyone count how many times the commentator said how beautiful the ipox pitch was………….(whisper)…….that’s because it’s green lads……!!!!!

By the way, we have a new (great) centre half in Wanyama ………!!

  27. Bonjour la classe,

One of the most pleasing aspects of yesterdays series of unexpected events was Mr Strachan’s statesman like appearance on the box.

Granted, I would sound like a Nobel Laureate beside the amateurish Hateley, Burley or Hendry on ESPN.

However, not only does Gordon know his onions when it comes to the finer points of the beautiful game, but he always speaks of Celtic with affection and honesty, I have never heard him denigrate the club or even be remotely critical. I really liked and admired him as manager and he continues to endear himself to me every time he dispenses his wisdom.

  28. Tracy McVeigh in the Observer has another stab at tackling Scotland’s Shame. While it is mainly about a young Protestant rangers supporter giving up singing the vile repetoire and how he has been rejected by his own family and even had a death threat at the age of 16, she basically argues that one is as bad as the other, because of Kafflik schools. Things will change when they go. Sectarianism, according to her, is now being tackled head on in Scotland. What world does she occupy?
