The good news keeps coming today.  A solid 0-2   win away to Inverness, the gap at the top of the league narrowing by two points, and issue 4 of CQN Magazine is now out!  Out cover feature in this issue is an interview with Lisbon Lion, Willie Wallace.  Willie lives in Australia but keeps in touch with events at Celtic through the internet.

Bobby Petta also speaks to us, recounting some of the great times he experienced as a Celtic player, as well as providing an introspective on the disappointing John Barnes season.

We cover some recent topical subjects, including policing of Scottish football, the perennial poppy and the financial crisis that has engulfed our game.  Checkout the speech from 1941 by President Roosevelt on four essential human freedoms.  At 60 pages it’s our biggest issue yet and stuffed full of great articles.  Get stuck in…

Is made the more remakable by it’s indefutable resolve to lay

bare a series of very curious events that occurred around and

before a most certainly incurious scottish press corps were stirred

to inactive attention the already flint scraping of truth, others had

sparked in attentive gatherings the few dry remnant words

in bundled kindling that has so far afforded a low hob set broiling

the still chewy state of the ringers.

Instead of providing a much larger copper bottomed vessel for their

Public stewing and the more heavyweight use of a commensurate

to a simmering low degree of anticipation any chance the final plate

Ok. I can in some respects accept what you’re saying because as a general rule a lot of people lump Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani in together but of course (as as you point out) there’s a religious divide Muslim vs Sikh and Hindu.

The Asian Tims I know are all Indian Sikhs.

How so? If an Indian or Asian fellow chooses to sing that, it’s up to him/her. Makes sense to me. It’s like me singing I’d rather wear a bunnet than a sash. Or I’d rather be bald than wear a KKK pokey thingy on my napper.

To me it’s a direct attack on the bigotry of sash-wearers. You think it’s an attack on people who might wear turbans?

Aye. At least that one was honest. But as they are working at improving themselves in hundercover work and being more stealthy in their approach at sniffing out Kafflicks and Irish descendents, I can see that particular poster being banned. The source is unclear, but there is some group investing time and money in teaching these muppets spin and sleekitness in their approach to their hatred. I’ve seen it on the streets more than once, and it’s evident online all over.

Worrying stuff, but at least I can take heart from the fact that the Scottish establishment has recognised the need to deal with this before it escalates to genuinely threatening levels. Oh wait…….:((

I’m reminded of a time from my Primary School age.

We were taken on a day trip to a primary school in the west end of Glasgow, which due to the demographics of the area, was attended mostly by Asian kids. We had a fantastic day (hence why in my late years I can recall it well), enjoying a celebration of the several cultures which all us kids brought to the table. In my adult life, I also had the pleasure of experiencing a Seikh wedding. A fantastic event.

Would it be within our remit to create a charity fund: Free the Follow Followers. Raise funds to take a section of them once a week to experience the beauty of cultural events that don’t revolve around the hatred of others?

Would require a heavy police presence as entrenched hatred is unpredictable however. And this could be difficult as many of them might well be the ones to whom such a charitable action would be directed at.

Attendance at non-denominational schools may account for some of it but I think you may find that the Scottish Asian community whose forebears came over from Pakistan (the Muslim community) have more of an allegiance to Celtic.
