CELTIC’S Champions League conquerors FC Midtjylland were trounced 3-0 by PSV Eindhoven in their first leg play-off round in the Netherlands last night.
The Danes are heading for the exit after a three-goal blitz in the first-half against the Dutch side who reached this stage following a 7-2 aggregate victory over Galatasaray in the previous round.
PSV took the lead in the 18th minute through Noni Madueke and Mario Gotze doubled their advantage 10 minutes later. Cody Gakpo added a third before the break.
The Dutch outfit will look to finish the job in Denmark next week before facing Benfica or Spartak Moscow in the next stage.
