Celtic, experienced winners at Ibrox

239

You will remember being concerned going into ‘these games’ in the past with too many Celtic players who have either no experience of them, or mainly poor experiences.  Not so on Sunday.  The Celtic side and those in the dugout have  experienced overwhelmingly positive outcomes when facing Newco, including at Ibrox.

The same is not true the other way.  Some of their starters will have played in the dead rubber at the end of last season, when Ange left half our team out.  Tavernier and Goldson have at least won meaningly 90 minute games against Celtic, but that’s about it, and even they will still need therapy to cope with memories of players in green and white hoops.

What happens at the side of the pitch will be as important as what happens on the turf.  For months, Brendan Rodgers has been privately suggesting that as long as Celtic are in touching distance when we get to Ibrox, we will be in good shape after the game.  The manager has an outstanding record at that ground, it seems to bring the best out of him.

Joe Hart, our back four, and Callum McGregor will feed confidence off each other.  Daizen and Matt O’Riley will use the relative freedom of an open game to exercise their abilities.

In my entire Celtic watching life, no striker has so dominated either of the Rangerses than Kyogo, even the Great Swede, and he dominated them into a wonderful tax efficiency scheme.  Nicolas Kuhn will be the one player in a Celtic shirt who will need to find he bearings.  If he is against Barisic, that will not be a challenge.

Having the better team does not guarantee anything, but the Celtic team you see on Sunday will be the best assembled side in Scottish football for many months.  Bring it on.

  1. Tomorrow will take care of itself ..

win, lose or draw .. still 100% behind Brendan

    I think we’ll win 🍀

Think the team picks itself (if all available) but I have sneaky Brendan might go with Yang instead of Kuhn, just a feeling

Is there any reason why the huns Dundee game would be behind closed doors? Other than to give the huns a ‘covid’ type advantage ? Oops , sorry I think I just answered my own question .

  4. I may be wrong but the Huns game against Dundee could have been played on the 20th March, the 27th March or the 3rd of April. They avoided these dates to favour them as usual. It puts the ludicrous league split under the spotlight again. It just shouldn’t happen. It isn’t a genuine league because of it.

DR predictions are a draw tomorrow apart from some dick called Gavin Berry 3:1 huns, arsehole!

  6. I have never known one of these games where fans of both teams are speaking so positively about the potential outcome.

I think our support has deep belief that we can based on trusting the manager and players who have been over the course and distance before. Also the feeling that the top players are returning from injury and others signed now beginning to show potential. Giving us a deeper squad to call on at last.

Theirs is superficial based on media hype and possibly home advantage / referee VAR hope. It is fragile and I don’t believe they really are certain deep down. The 10/11 wins since we beat them has not seen them go to Aberdeen or Hearts or Hibs or Livingston or Dundee indeed McInnes’s Kilmarnock seems to have been the sole signature win away of any real merit in that period of 7 home wins.

After tomorrow they have 2 home and 4 away. We have a tough 2 away. A draw would be fine for me. As long as we have a plan to beat their aggressive press I think we have the players to win. 2-1 Celtic for me.

Shuggie says … 3-0 to the Huns … 4 if CCV isn’t playing

The “media” can say and write whatever they want, they still get paid

Am confident Brendan v Fileppee Clementee … if the big Belgian gets a win fair play … I’d have Brendan 7 days out of 7 before the Belgian Pep … (as per the Scottish media)

Keevins said 4-0 to the Huns.

Must still be banned from CP. His brother used to be our local priest, completely different character.

  10. I think I’m right in saying that our Govan rivals have lost two out of their last three home games.

They may have 47,999 supporters prepared to break the new Hate Crime Laws, (though their Chief cheerleader wont be one of them) but that wont help when they go 1-0 or 2-0 down in the first half. The SFA may have handpicked the referee but not all watching will hope or want them to win, so many eyes will be on him, not just the all seeing one. They put everybody up for a corner like they did in the EL we are more than capable of doing what Benfica did on the break, and just as fast with Kuhn, Maeda and Kyogo. Souter if he plays is a disaster waiting to happen and we will be able to bring on up to five fit alternatives though I hope not in the same way we did last time out at 2-0 when we lost a momentum that could have seen us finish 3-4 nil.

Not to mention as Burnley78 already has, that after tomorrow we will have four home games out of six, and after a defeat the road and the miles to Dundee will not seem so enticing. We play at or near the top of our game we win they lose.

  14. Good morning Glasgow & Hail Hail.

06:00 here but getting excited, like a kid at Christmas.

Looks like we have our strongest pool of players available to visit Ayebrokes and its just Brendan to decide if Calmac starts or come on as sub to see out a victory.

Kyogo to get an early goal and put even more pressure on them before the hordes start to eat one and other and then turn on their team

    Out all day.

Caught a little bit of Sportscene … the football not the inane yap.

Dundee blew the chance to confirm top six. They’ll need to go for it on Wednesday. After a long season for Sevco the extra day’s rest might just help the home team.

Killie squeezed past Ross County on the carpet. Were lucky.

Yet again Hibs look like they’ve employed a wrong ‘un as manager.

Hopeless against a poor Sevco last time out they were abysmal against St Johnstone.

Poor wee Nick blamed St Johnstone for getting men behind the ball. Hmm.

  16. Melvin Udall on

Will finish 3-1 to the hoops.

Kyogo with 2 and Maeda with the other.

Tavpen will score their goal. Although, not from a penalty.

    Into this mob tomorrow Celtic!

Let’s get this title wrapped up asap. 😃👍🍀🏆🇮🇪⚽️🍻

The FACt is its a George Galloway influenced Socialist/Working Class Government.

Or, you will end up inside a tin can of “Soylent Green” from the Gates family.

That is the road that Timmy takes his family down…never to be seen again…👀️

Or, Timmy screws the nut and becomes a free Tim. 👀️

Celtic fans voted in 2014 Referendum and twice for promises of Scottish Independence and at the same time…voted against the only realistic opportunities for a peaceful Irish Reunification Process, and the Recognition of The State of Palestine which was only being promised by Jeremy Corbyn, just 2,700 more votes in 2017 UK GE..and Ireland and Palestine would have been free by now.

Just look at the amount of innocent lives lost and then tell yourself “fk the trolls…am still voting Indy!” 😶️

And to think that Celtic fans believed in…a promise from the biggest collection of liars to ever befoul Scotland…don’t take my word…go and read some of Pro Indy Kevin McKenna’s stuff about how the entire country has been taken to the cleaners since 2014.

Big of KM to get over himself and he is also big enough to admit to being sickened watching good innocent well meaning Scots whom he ha known all of his life, and who could never be described as “Unionist Imperialists, etc, etc….” and then his disgust at watching good caring innocent Scottish citizens being subject to…a pile on as they are shouted down and cancelled from platform after platform for pointing out blatant truths.

Well done Kevin McKenna for being big enough to get over himself…and then for seeing clearly….the ugly cancel culture mob who were staring straight back at him from the bowels of the deep and ugly pit which they have dug for themselves.

The wee ugly fan of witches who stole all of your money and told you it was the Tory’s who took it…that’s why this witch has a £500,000 PER YEAR Personal Pension pot carved out for herself and Celtic fans and your families will pay for this witch….and she did what…for you and your family? 👀️

That the likes of former STV Political editor, Bernard Ponsonby, could not lay a single glove on this witch since 2014…is a measure of how corrupt a country Scotland now is.

Scottish Media, Police, The Crown Office, Rangers Tax Case, 5WA, etc, etc, have all been captured by this, Celtic hating, witch, a total demon.

Celtic fans need to undo this unacceptable mess which has their voting finger prints all over it.

PS, Play on the break and Kyogo and Maeda will get us a 0-2 victory.

Or, Brendan will deliberately persevere [PLC plan to boost the Old Firm] with the tippy tappy guff which would leave us open to a mugging. 👀️

    ….oot.

Do not crumble under their bully boy tactics, for they will lay it on thick on, Kyogo, Khun and GT.

Hopefully we have a midfield of Cal Mac, MO AND Reo, with AJ and GT pushing up to make. It 5 but beware of sucking us into that and for a Tav long ball into box.

  21. No one knows the outcome of today’s game but of course like every topic discussed on here there are differing views. No one surely wants a forum such as this to be taken over by ‘group speak’ where only one point of view is tolerated and anyone with an alternative take is shouted down with aggressive hyperbole and name-calling.

The ‘dog’s dinner’ of the new Hate law should act as a warning that free-speech is an unalienable right in a civilised society and should be cherished and preserved.

The more we disagree courteously, the more we protect free speech and if we respect each other’s views, we’ guarantee it.

  22. Does your ‘we’ concern all the Galloway arse eating unionist scum monikers you come on here as?

Do one Tam,have you not got a boat to stoap or a statue to protect?

Up to their knees in fenian blood from your brethren is not courteous it is hate.

We have more or less a full squad …

Don’t buy into the Hun hype it’s the only thing they are actually good at ….
