Celtic hire The System

726

It was (honestly) a complete coincidence that at the start of last week I wrote that football clubs need “people who can say to the manager, “A club in Romania is doing something really clever, we should try it”, without being frog-marched off the premises”, a few days before Celtic employed a GAA coach as a performance consultant.

Organisations who succeed actively look for development ideas from unusual sources.  If you are fishing in the same pond as everyone else, you’ll not find a strategy that will allow you to over-perform.  Jim McGuinness, coach at Donegal GAA, will work with Neil Lennon’s technical team two days per week.

McGuinness had transformed Gaelic football, since taking control of unfancied Donegal they have been described as “virtually unbeatable”, provoking astonishment and some hostility from those close to the game as a result of his tactical revolution, known as ‘The System’. For his sport, he has found the ‘Moneyball code’ and the metaphorical answer to ‘Why England lose’, which we have discussed here for a number of years.

In short, Jim McGuinness sees things that others don’t and Celtic know the value of new ideas. I’m pleased at both.

    Thindimebhoy,

I think you picked me up wrong,

The petition link, in that article does not let me sign, it demands to know which state I live in, even when I select UK as my country.

Anyone else having that problem ?

That is an extremely serious accusation to be making on a public forum.

So unless you are prepared to name your source it’s only rumour and innuendo.

So if you don’t mind. Shut it

  3. jude2005 is Neil Lennon \o/

Our Arabian friends really do have slaves of all ages and nationalities

Why not ask our government to make inquiries for the good of the Arab spring that hit the buffers of winter in Saudi Arabia when a big arms deal was on the cards

These Arab governments actively condone and dont outlaw slavery

Child slavery ie child abuse all part of the need to erode humanity for the service of Mammon meanwhile we pick up the spare shekels whilst turning a blind eye

    Thindimebhoy,

As far as I’m concerned the Arab rulers have never accepted human rights unless its their right to unrestricted freedom.

The so called Christian west has turned a blind eye yet still claim to be Christian, the yanks are the most ridiculous with their so called Neo Christian fundamentalism, the loudest doing most business with countries committing atrocities against humanity.

  6. Ah! Those perfidious dark skinned races.

    It’s a difficult judgement call.

The personal abuse is puerile but I object to the no longer thinly disguised racism.

It’s a residue of the “no platform for racists” view.

That particular poster finds it impossible to be balanced about racial differences.

Anyway, I’m off to bed now that ma curlers are in

  10. There’s rumour flying around that many of the service personnel @ the bigotdome for brittania gloriana Saturday were in fact a visiting group from the u.d.a. all dolled up in fancy dress.

I cannot confirm this : only repeating what I’ve read on TSFM and elsewhere.

It would not surprise me in the least, however.

That was a shameless exhibition and a desecration of something which is meaningful to many, if not to the likes of me.

“I may not like what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

    Fair enough.

But Chunkles & The Sevcovians, that howlin’ tribute act, overstep the mark every time.

And they manage to induce the gag reflex in me on a regular basis, no matter how much I try to ignore them.

They really should not have been allowed into the sfl. They should’ve gone to the back of the queue, like any other team would have had to.

They have not been forced to sell off the bigotdome and murray pk. as would be normal in any other administration/liquidation. Creditors bumped and dissed. Competitors slagged.

Undervalued and pawned off cheap to allow their hideousness to continue.

And having been granted the grace to persevere, they behave worse than ever.

Will no one step in and rid the game of them once and for all?

The irony being that this blabber mouth was questioning Paddy’s professionalism.

Was your informant drunk? Or does he not have that excuse for his lack of discretion?

I am not sure of the reasons for Paddy not getting game time under various managers.

All I know is he has been the one player in the last three or four years capable of getting my attention in the way so many of our past heroes did.

Celtic should always have a place for the flair player, the flawed genius capable of doing the unexpected-effortlessly.

However, not everyone sees it that way.

I posted to try and explain , a reason that was given to me as to why Paddy struggles to get more game time.

There is no suggestion that Paddy is still a bevvy merchant.

I honestly don’t think the powers that be at the MOD would endorse such public behaviour from service men in uniform.

I only saw it a couple of hours ago for the first time and no amount of silence breaking could ever embarrass the memory of the dead more so than that choreographed parody.

It was sickening to the dead and the crown and normal people who harbour sorrowful memories.

  18. Andrew you may or may not be known to me but Paul has a few simple rules on here, I’m not sure if what you posted broke one of them or not but what you did break was the most basic rule of the Supporters Creed…

Never repeat hearsay that is vile and derogatory about your club, or an employee ot the club, or a fellow supporter.

It does nobody of our kin a favour.

Bolton announce loss of £22m,down from £26m.

IIRC,they have debts of over £100m.

Not long for this world if they don’t get back to The Prem within eighteen months,I suspect……

And,allegedly, they are one of HMRC’s prime targets for EBT use if they win the Rangers one.

There is nothing derogatory in my post about Paddy in his time at Celtic.

I was given a reason as to why he doesn’t get more game time.

I was told his skill was not in question, but excesses in his earlier career meant that his body would not allow him to reach a certain standard of fitness now.

I actually don’t think that it is anything that most of us haven’t heard before.
