Celtic should accept Wilson ban offer

1201

Celtic should accept the offer of a two match ban for Kelvin Wilson following an incident at Dens Park on Boxing Day.  He has never been an aggressive player, so there is no need to assume intent, but an elbow to the face is a painful experience and potentially dangerous.  These are the rules and they are there for good reason.

  1. One year ago tonight we beat a team called rangers (remember them?) to go top of the SPL having been 15 points behind less than 2 months earlier. In the year since that night we have become league champions, qualified for the Champions League, beat the best team on the planet on the night we celebrated our 125th birthday and qualified from for the last 16 of the Chamions League.

The team that we beat one year ago went into administration in february and were then liquidated in june. Tomorrow the zombies who continue to delude themselves that nothing has changed, play in their new big glasgow derby game when they meet the amatuers of queens park in the 4th tier of scottish football.

Hasn’t been a bad old year has it?

  2. Just stick to the laws of the game and all the evidence points to careless which requires no additional action ,whereas a caution for unsporting behaviour is the ruling for an player holding to prevent him gaining possession of the ball or taking up an advantageous position.

This should never have even been reported IMO.

  3. From twitter thingy…….

The Roll of Honour is available on ITunes, if the away support play it on their phones tomorrow, does our First minister charge, Apple?

Wouldnt be surprised if Baird starts collecting cards for the temerity to defend a Celtic player.

  6. Forgot how good a save that was from big FF in that match last December, though I do remember their bleating about it being over the line, went on and on and on about it. Nae luck.

  7. Celtic should appeal ban without a doubt.. Even dundee player says there was no real contact and was his fault .

  10. Ask Vinceny Loony to dig out the files on Diouf and Bougherra from a couple of seasons back, see what “punishment “was meted out then,it was days after the Cardigan asked for “common sense” as they only had a small squad.Another one we swallowed without protest.

Got to disagree with you on this one mhate!

ESPN (Craigan) and the MSM have acted as procurator, judge and jury on this incident.

Wilson (and Lenny confirmed) said it was accidental – Baird likewise.

If we do not contest this then we are leaving ourselves open to further trial by TV pundits given that we are most likely to feature in televised matches. Time for the Club to put down a ‘marker’ even at the expense of a ban for Wilson.

Can anyone recall the zombie board coming out after (EVERY) game in condemnation of their fans’ behaviour …….I suppose it highlights the cultural difference…….and it has become even more pronounced with this new zombie2 club, where the CEO / manager actively encourage the hooligan element…..SCOTLAND’ SHAME IS ALIVE AND KICKING …..

They, and the LL, really are ‘a piece of work’ ……… It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so pathetic…

    Rangers go under

    14 June

Rangers’ perilous financial position had been an open secret but there was still shock when, after 140 years of history and a world record 54 league titles, the club was consigned to liquidation in mid-June. The Glasgow giants were subsequently reformed as a new company and granted entry to the Third Division, Scotland’s fourth tier, which they currently lead by nine points with a game in hand.

The MSM are always happy to apply plenty of spin on negative Celtic stories. That will always be the case.

I wasn’t at Dundee, so I can’t possibly comment on what happened. But we are all aware of the ludicrous stories the MSM have peddled in the past about Celtic, and we should all remember those tales – and the agenda of our detractors.

In saying that – we all know Celtic have some mindless idiots among the support as well – I’m sure we have all encountered them at various times. I certainly have, but thankfully they are as rare as sensible Zombies.

    Hey ho.
