  1. dire getting out drambowie – but we caught a good sight of Jota trying to get out of the car park – mugged by fans – great day!

Not for me to encourage gambling but the Bhoys who topped the Prediction league this weekend could have made a few quid perming the results they got right. 14.5/18 even with small amounts to cover the larger number of bets would have taken the Bookies to the Cleaners next door. Results are hard enough to call, actual scores then some. Well done to Ayrshire Tim et al.

Enjoyed the game today. Great stuff going forward but a bit more shooting wouldn’t go amiss.

Thought Stephen Welsh and Greg Taylor were outstanding today.

Interesting to see the names who didn’t make the bench today.

I also the bench would have been strong enough to win today.

  5. loan players serve an apprenticship.

sign them when qualified, aye thats an improvement.

  6. Nite Weefra…be busy, don’t be busy…u do what’s right for you ;-)) Take care of yourself

  9. Anybody think Greg Taylor has improved since last season ?

Does that mean our first 11 has improved

Just for the record I like Greg and think he is a far better player / defender than many Celtic fans think … Ange obviously thinks he can do a job as well

I thought Greg’s calmness on the ball under pressure and his use of the ball going forward were excellent today. Definitely better.

He also defended well and worked very hard.

Toss up between him and Welsh for motm today. Stephen also looked more confident today.

  11. @Higgie 12.04…when we got off the bus at greenock celts

Funny you mention Stephen Welsh, am still to be convinced BUT am delighted to have him in the squad, am sure Ange will know more than us eijits :-)

We are going in the right direction … and unlike some I think we will collect points in the group stages this year, I think 3rd in the CL is gettable and wouldn’t rule out 2nd … we actually got more points in the EL group stages than that amazing team that lost on penalties

May as well hope for the best than some others who wish for the worst :-)

  13. oh well nae weans so beddie byes…

But catchin up…@M M. lovely thoughts for Peter ..

Im sure he was looking down on us today.

and please enjoy our new season..every one is special

    well said Dan.

others seem disappointed Celtic were only Very good instead of outstanding, standards are standards.

    IF if if…

if Johnny( a Celtic favourite of mine) had scored we still win 2-1, if Jota missed we still win, if Celtic had have taken their Chances and if JH(a Celtic favourite off mine) had taken his? the only IF is would it have been 5-1 or 6-1.

‘IF’ the Queen had balls she would be the King

    Hail Hail bhoys!

Well done all Celtic players and our amazing fans for an opening day to remember including a world-class goal from Jota that Messi would have been proud of.

BTW James Forest was invisible again!

    In Ange We Trust

  16. The game was a bit dull in long spells. It seems our attackers especially Kyogo, Maeda, Hatate and Big Geo were still pretty rustly as they hadn’t played in competitive matches for a while. All of them missed good opportunities to score. And their passing could have been better.

Standouts for me were Jota in the second half, Matt O’Riley, Greg Taylor and Josip Juranovich. Although a number of the others weren’t bad they just didn’t get up to a lot. Deffo not yet a ChampionsLeague performance. I’m sure things will improve.

    Celtic supporters backing the workers.

    Just like the old days.

Except that this isn’t the old days.

Nowadays Celtic supporters chant “Back The Workers” and then they vote for snp austerity, and snp along with every other elected member in Holyrood turned their backs on striking bin men emptying bins full of rats and other ugly stuff.

Nowadays the Celtic supporters at least the one’s who administer certain blogs, talk out of both sides of their mouths.

Bumping their gums about plc deceit, then whining about fans suggesting boycotts to remove the plc deceivers.?

It can be confusing at times.

A lack of leadership creates confusion.

Good morning all Celtic fans on here.

Dan @ 09:40 last night. Brilliant

  19. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Enjoyable enough game but still looked a bit rusty?

Stephen, Greg, Matt all very good for me.

Bit too much overplaying the flicks in first half by Josip and Jota in particular. Much better second.

Kept it dry during preseason re Calum but I thought he was worryingly off it for first 75 minutes yesterday (he came on strong towards the end).

Don’t know if he is just in a dip or the system leaves him exposed in attack to defence transition.

    Much appreciated.

  24. I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday.

A good solid 3 points against a strong Aberdeen who will be better than last season by a distance.

Complacency and arrogance domestically will be the biggest threats this season.

A few of our players looked that way I felt at the start. Even going out the tunnel. For me it was interesting that Welsh and Taylor were 2 of our best on the day. GG and Abada also showed no traces of it with their effort when on either.

Ange can knock this out of them hopefully. Turning up each week can involve grinding out results and earning the right to win. Showboating is great when 3-0 up. Not 1-0. Great to hear Ange unhappy at FT. Sending out the right message.

Great also to hear the non Green Brigade signing from South West corner too. Often louder than the GB. Also great rendition of Grace pre game.
