The interest in this game from all the Celtic fans that I know (Young & old) is massive whether any individual agrees with it or not……
By the way 10th of September is Miss GFTB’s 8th birthday so I can assure you that will be the most important thing in this household that day :-)

With a forthcoming visit to Celtic park of a new club from Glasgow. I wonder what the Celtic program will say
Usually they list honours of visiting clubs. Surely they must print the new clubs lower division titles and that is all
It will have been printed. Has anybody seen it yet ?

I’d doubt Thomson was furious, he was refereeing the match after all.
What referees (an that’s groups of them) will be railing against is being called out for what they are hopeless at best, cheats at worst. I’d suggest the opinion of Webb will be a key target of their ire. Maybe They want messrs Dougal or Clark to provide “live” analysis ?
Now there is no doubt most are the former. The evidence is there weekend after weekend when the MIB is the story, after game changing incorrect decisions, by highly paid unaccountable officials.
Cheats, open to conjecture what category individuals fall into. But there’s enough proof to suggest cheating takes place. For example Tait.
This has the hallmarks of goading Fleming into an invidious position.
Personally I have given my two season tickets away for the tribute act game, and I never attend any games at Hampden now either, but that’s just me, and I’v not got problem with anyone who does the opposite, it’s they’re choice.

Chris Sutton puts his mouth where his money is.
And risks losing his gig in the process.
How long have we waited for a commentator to call it like it is . And we know it is.
If Chris Sutton suffers any sanction , I would hope Tims demonstrate their solidarity with Chris in a subscription way.

Great day at the game yesterday, suffering now, looking forward to this fry sorting me out.
Seen a lovely memorial Hurl of Macanbheatha (photo),I’ll try C&P an post it.not too good at that stuff.
Here’s an article I did manage to copy,I was both honoured and humbled to take part in this great tribute to our friends and comrades.
Chris is obviously not a Mason and that’s the reason they can’t reign him in, so it looks like the brothers have had a meeting and big Sutty is it.
I’ll be watching this one very care fully as it develops, interesting indeed.

Watching yesterday I think the main change is De Vries’ speed at passing. Gordon delivers a long ball accurately * but is slower in distributing to defenders. The speed of building from the back is also dependant on the outfield players being on their toes. Watched Lustig do it a few times. Like all change it’ll take time and practise.
What our supporters need to be conscious of is that any passing doesn’t alway come off, so we’ll loose the ball sometimes. Practise makes (near) perfect though.
Yesterday I thought we were a little staid in the middle first half, plenty of possession but little forward movement in the area. I’m sure Brendan will fix the matter, with an addition. Lots of opinion on CQN about needing a defensive midfielder. I think it’s a creator we need.

You may soon discover that we are more likely to sign James Mccarthy than not.
I’m still on a high after yesterday’s match and result. Thought we looked tired at times but still played very well scoring some great goals. I don’t think it was a penalty though and any feelings of compassion for Reynolds red card is tempered by Virgil’s red card for nothing at Pittodrie.
I’ve become a bit hard of hearing in my old age but I could hear the Green a Brigade sing a lovely song yesterday which I believe is called Grace. Can anyone tell me who sings it and if I can download it on iTunes.

Might be a change of format for this game.
Not that it will matter though, Celtic are more than happy to stay silent while the same club narrative is established, and in a season or two it will all be forgotten.
It’s what the majority of Celtic fans want, whatever a few might say on the internet.
The buzz of excitement even now in anticipating the game is quite noticeable.

Referees should be above criticism, but by their deeds not diktat.
Seems we have to accept “honest” mistakes but they won’t allow honest criticism. Even when it comes from someone demonstrably better at the job, like Howard Webb.
By their actions, they are either dishonest or incompetent. Whichever,it makes them unfit for the position they hold.

There’s two versions on YouTube. Jim McCann’s version has a nice introduction about Grace and her husband, and the Wolfetones rendition has the lyrics.
It’s a fantastic song, full of emotion, the GB version demonstrated that.
Referees are over protected a legacy of the influence of Dallas which made them the centre of the game , beyond any criticism and if the clubs dont like it they will go on strike. Test their resolve on this, they get £800 a game in the SPL then their Euro games and internationals, this will be a lot more than many pro footballers here and its their livelihood.
Let them threaten to go on stirke they are woeful and their inconsistencies frequent to be anything other than deliberate , we can then employ refs from other associations and have a proper accountable refereeing structure carried out by impartial overseers which is clear for clubs players and supporters. Sorted once and for all.
They are paid well the least they can expect is accountability for their actions
I like the song grace. But I like this one better. It’s about the Pearse brothers as far as I can tell. It’s a kind of rebel sing but like all the best ones it just tells a story.
The singer on the band sadly passed away. He had a beautiful voice. Derek McCormick I think he was called. Big pal of the furey brothers and a lover of life I’m reliably informed.
The local gossip here in the milk is that the James McCarthy deal is almost a done deal, two days ago my info was its not happening from a family friend with a wry smile, so who knows, this person was coming out of William Hills and this person doesent gamble?
The simple fact of the matter is the referre fraternity is a 90% Masonic club, with the odd Tim like Willie Column thrower to the lions, that’s the way it’s been from day one.

I also wondered what the GB were singing as I’d never heard it before. Thought it sounded fantastic. My Lhad told me last night that it was Grace by the Dubliners.

Had a great day out around the game yesterday. Started off with a pint or 4 in Malones irish Bar where I had a good chat with Lisbon Lion John Fallon. An absolute gentleman and Celtic to the core.
Good entertainment with live singer/guitarist. Jeanette Findlay of the Celtic Trust took the stage to explain the work of the trust and to update on various on-going issues.
A guy from Not-The-View then took the mike and described the trip to Be’er Sheva. A bit of an eye-opener.
Finally, John Fallon spoke about that perennial Celtic issue . . . referees. Very entertaining.
All in all, a great way to pass a few hours before the big game, which hosted Britain’s biggest crowd of the day – 57,758 – and what an atmosphere it was too.
And to round it off, I followed up my prediction on CQN by betting £20 Celtic to win, giving the Dons 2 goals of a start, @ 11/2. With 5 minutes to go, I was sure my money was gone.
