He’s paid hansomly to score goals. He was given 2 gifts tonight that he squandered, he failed dismally to do what he is paid to do. Ajax had only 2 chances in 85 mins yet scored both. Our failings in Europe for many years have been that we never(or almost never) take our chances.

  2. The happy clappers are very much to blame!

Mediocrity and regression accepted for years

But hey. At least we’re no liquidated right kids?

Hello this is WEE BGFC. Also I dont suppose any of the boo-boys who are suposedly “Celtic fans” will be getting up at 5:00 in the morning to go to Inverness on Sunday to SUPPORT Celtic.

Was laughing at SFTB’s “great effort” quote and imitating on how far some folk would see us fall.

Well, you needed the laugh, given your recent moods. I don’t see much sign of your imitation though- were you speculating perhaps? Some of our fans are very fond of the oul speculation.

We are being dominated by an incredibly poor Ajax team and never in a month of Sunday’s do we look like scoring another goal. We are trying to hit Ajax on the break at. How. The team are trying but look so limite it’s scary.

Except , in the second half, none of your self proclaimed Cassandra prescience came to pass. We dominated Ajax in the second just as they had won the first half. Leigh Grifiths, who has carried us in games, had an off night- no blame attached.

That performance tonight was fine, no matter how much you want it not to be. The result was tragic, however. Overall our Europa campaign foundered on the 2 Molde ties, we performed creditably in both Ajax ties and against the Turks. Bottom line is results but, despite your predominant Private Fraser outlook, you do not get to credibly put tonight’s match into the Molde (H & A) & Malmo (A) box. It was nothing like that and any fair football observer would allow their judgement to notice the differences.

Ajax hit the post and Sonogo missed a sitter

They had far from just two chances

    ———-

Yep, tactics, poor buys, horrible defence etc etc can all be blamed on the manager but it’s amazing with all those negatives we still create loads of chances and then miss them. And I like Griff and don’t blame him tonight (just one of those things)

  7. Really enjoyed the game tonight

Apart from the result of course

A good open game that could have gone any way

Heard Ronny on tax radio say it’s all about small margins

    Of course they ridiculed him

Well that game was about small margins

We could have won by 3

    Lost by 4

    Drew 5-5

    Thoroughly entertaining

    But gutting all the same

    Griff had an off night

    He admits himself on Twitter

Agree with bbj great going forward

But th e defence and midfield are poor at times

    Hope Ronny gets time

    Hail Hail

  8. And logically, that irrelevancy includes your good self Fred Quimby!

It appears to me that some players don’t want to work for the manager. If that’s the case, then they should be out the door.

And a big welcome to all the new posters on here tonight, and a welcome back to the ones who only come out when things are bad.

    OnlyHappyWhenItRains

  9. Look there’s really no point in shedding tears over this.

Ronny will get the boot, or he may resign, he has lost it. Disagree………look at the evidence:

    European competition (Ronny’s stated measure)

Fitness, what’s the evidence have we improved ?

Player recruitment, how is that going ?

    Man management……?

    Player improvement ?

Tactics, how many games have we won by adapting ?

Now, as Sutton * kept saying these things ain’t just to be laid at Ronny’s door. But the harsh reality is when it comes to football you have how many options

    a) sack all the players (particularly the prima-donnas that have undermined your manager)

    b) Sack yourself the Chief Executive

    c) Sack the guy who should be managing

In time honoured football fashion it’s C of course.

We just haven’t reached rock bottom yet.

    * How funny was the big man tonight, absolutely raging and more like a supporter than commentator.

  10. i'vehadtochangemyname on

    night night bhoys

we can solve the ronny issue easily but don’t know where we’ll get a good squad from. After BRTH’s post about the celtic plc being the point when the club stopped being the club I’ve had an unsettling feeling that wgs/lennie may be the best we’ll be for a very long time. need paul’s analysis more than ever but not sure even he could see a way forward now we’ve had a couple of years of being a feeder club

  11. Eddie in kirkmichael,

Ajax had more than two chances. They hit the post, there was also a goalmouth scramble where the ball seemed to come of Gordon’s chest on the goal line before he scooped the ball out of the 6 yard box, plus Sanogo should have scored for them.

Totally disagree on our failings in Europe. Our failing for years has been losing cheap goals.

  12. Tom Boyd is better than SuperSutton on

Huddle. I agree on Rogic but it should have been Allen coming on not Charlie.

If Tierney injured then Izzy is the only choice. But I didn’t see any indication he was injured.

As for the naysayers, my opinion is that in the second half we were the better team and had the better chances. The fact we didn’t win is the reason why I watch football. Nothing guarantees a win except scoring more than the opposition.

I’m happy with the way we played. I’m not happy with the choice of subs.

  14. i to feel for ronny, being the celtic manager is starting to take its toll on him, ronny should have never been appointed as first team coach, its to big a job,so shame on the celtic board for appointing him,so ronny do the right thing and resign, and who could we appoint as the next manager,to tell you the truth i cant think of someone, usually there are some good coaches out there who would do a good job for our club,2 names have been mentioned lennon and moyes, lenny cant cut it at bolton,he had his chance with us,then left,me personnaly i dont want him back,as for moyes,to be honest i dont know,

No one is expecting players of the calibre of Sutton Hartson and Petrov

We know we can’t compete with the CL big hitters or afford the present day suttons

But now we can’t compete with EL lightweights and CL cannon fodder despite having more financial resources than such teams

Taken to the cleaners by the team that finished 5th in Sweden and 6th in Norway

7 games running in Europe where we have lost at least 2 goals. 10 Europa group games without a win.

That’s what happens when you overload a squad with temporary loan signings and young inexperienced players

The economics of football do not explain why Malmo Maribor Legia Warsaw molde etc pump us. Complacency, poor signings and a lack or organisation from top to bottom are the primary causes of our failure to live with Scandinavian also-rans etc not economics

  16. Charlie Mulgrew has been an excellent servant to Celtic since he signed.

The very least he deserves is no one passes judgement until they hear why he went off.

  17. Regarding Mulgrew, watch the replay of the late goal from behind the goal, Charlie starts sprinting back and pulls up at the centre circle. Would some folk prefer he kept going till his leg fell off?

GMS is just hopeless, lost boy who should be left out the team

Griffiths had plenty of praise, so when he has such an appalling game then he deserves some gyp, especially when he was playing for himself and not the team.

Young Tierney continues to impress, well done son.

Don’t know where to start with Deila, 10 games without a win, same movie game after game in Europe.

  18. SFTB

I don’t know what game you were watching, or how you arrive at your analysis.

But I think its obvious that this team is going nowhere under RD.

I don’t think he will improve the team.

The nervousness spreads from Craig Gordon throughout the team.

Young Tierney apart, the team should be ashamed of their performances in Europe.

They were mauled home and away by Molde, and now by Ajax at CP….I don’t see any progress at all.

    HH

  19. Muscle injury my arse most of us would give our right arm to play for the hoops. Big time Charlie indeed me tinks

  20. So how’s RD throwing under the bus tonight. We usually have someone or something.

I’ll suggest we have a flawed signing policy and management team. From board to coaching staff we need a change.

  21. Tom Boyd is better than SuperSutton on 26th November 2015 10:44 pm

    —————

They commented that Tierney has a strain or something, Rogic muttered to the bench that he couldn’t continue (looked knackered though maybe injured).

We didn’t really have any defensive cover in mid, and if Mulgrew was fit (which he apparently had been saying all week) then why not play him.

In all that time and I’m no far behind you have you ever seen a Celtic player do what he did tonight.

We’re all gutted mate totally gutted to watch that powderpuff team go out of Europe but Mulgrew should never wear the strip again and that goes for anybody who does not want to play for the manager or for Celtic..

    HH

    ………………………

Yes I have. Stan Petrov walked off the pitch at Celtic Park in a game against ICT. He wasn’t injured or being subbed and it wasn’t anywhere near the end.

  23. But tonight’s game was make or break, the result and performance said break, never turned up until the second half, why ?

I’m no normally that negative on the team, they knew the job that needed doing and they failed, the first half they lost the game.

Was laughing at SFTB’s “great effort” quote and imitating on how far some folk would see us fall.

All you need to know about NegAnon2. Laughing at a good Celtic supporter for supporting his team and sneering at him.

Its all about Neganon2 and not about Celtic

  25. We were excellent in the second half

We lost the game because we have nothing up front.

Strikers cost money. Celtic PLC won’t spend money.

This is where we are as a football team.

  26. just in,

    so where to start.

Final result, i cant and i wont blame the manager.

He played what might have been the only fittest 11.

    Tierny was fantastic.

McGregor, I never could have thought he had a performance like that in him.

    Jozo I like.

Allan, was making a telling contribution. Then that mistake.

Griff manages to miss chances he normally takes, god knows why.

The whole team kept trying , and we lose in another daft manner.

PiCK ourselves up and go again.

All of the above players, imho, will improve.

Now my concern, time and time again we see players on empty 65/70 minutes, they looked tired.

Rogic, Armstrong, Griff, GMS, Lustic (tierney excused, ).

Why is this ? what happened with the super fit team that will compete to the end.

Anyways, I aint despondent, I will let Ronnie win the league. and we might even enjoy some performances if he plays scott allen,

Sorry ghuys. Slow lane’s been closed for road repairs. Diggers are parked on the hard shoulder so it’s closed too. So it’s up the embankment and into the farmers field for the Cellick.

  28. Dear oh dear oh dear , a manager who can’t get his side off the bottom of the English Championship will be our saviour and will fuel our progress in European football God help us

  29. heard at the game that the ajax hoolies attacked the hoops bar before the game , is that true ?

I wouldnt be a celt in town tonight, get home safe bhoys, these animals are out for blood.

  30. Caltomtongs I don’t mind your anger. But don’t be lazy. I am around after ins too. But you lot just choose to forget that.

Auldheid I am sorry but your increasingly desperate attempts at being reasonable lay betray your inability to see the obvious. You may do well at suppressing your inner anger but in doing so you simply allow yourself to accept then acceptable. Celtic financially should be in the CL but we keep getting beat by clubs with far.lower finances than us. I know it’s inconvenient for you but that’s what’s happening. We are pursuing a strategy called Moneyball and it’s a complete disaster. Your increasingly despareate attempts to prop all this up only betray your own in built prejudices.

Celtci40me I never run away. You want to debate with me? Bring it on. Pl and co have just orchestrated an agm in which the accused a campaign of racism because they didn’t like the campaign. They are fair game. They are a disgrace.

SFTB you are looking for crumbs of comfort. Look at ronnys European record. Enough said.
