Fair point I actually thought MacGregor was still that young, or at least not so far off it.
My point is still valid though, and if we were further along the line that Ajax are a 22 yr old would have vastly more 1st team experience than MacGregor does.
We need time to get there, we can’t just chuck all of KT’s u19 teammates into the 1st team.

Oh I think we pay enough already.
Look – it’s the job of the Celtic board to ensure the football budget is sufficient enough to meet the aspirations of the fans/customers. That is constrained by how much money they make from the business side. So the choices they have are :
i) Raise more cash from business operations in order to pay for better players/managers.
ii) Develop talent that is acquired at low/no cost.
ii) Re-set the expectations of the fans/customers so that they don’t go into every season expecting to perform well in European competition.
I think the fans find (iii) unacceptable and do not have the patience for (ii). So that leaves (i).
It’s not a job I’d want, but the bottom line is – if those in charge are unable to properly fund the football operation to meet the expectations they’ve set, then they are failing and someone else needs to be given the job.
Let’s say RD genuinely does have the skills to create a CL team from youth and decent transfers. How long do you think that would take?

Nat Henrik who played international football at the highest level and played in world cup finals. Henrik who has played for Barca and won a CL medal. Henrik who has played under Alex Feguson. Henrik who was our greatest ever player. What does he know about football ?
What can’t be allowed to happen again, is both our first choice CH’s being allowed to leave, especially when they were as talented as Jason and Virgil.
There were some signs tonight that we could have a decent back four, with a lot of hardwork put in over the coming months. Broonies injury, given tonights game, is a real blessing in disguise for the future, IMO.
Their winning goal sort of sums up things at the moment for Celtic under Ronny Deila.
I couldn’t see who lost possession from the opposite end of the stadium, just like I wasn’t sure if it was Scott who had played a majestically weighted pass that we were unfortunate not to score from, and a probable winner, as the game had opened up Big Time by then as both teams realised they had to win this game.
Young Kieran after a shakey first 10, produced another superb performance where he made excellent decisions continuously, throughout the match. A real star in the making.
Unfortunately, I never seen the hard pressing game we should have had from mid forward and Ajax were able to control the play for periods of the game.

I’ve only read the last two pages after just watching the replay on Celtic TV.
Two individual errors were fortuitously and then ruthlessly punished.
We weren’t as sharp as they were especially in front of goal.
Leigh Griffiths didn’t have the best of nights up against a fast defence.
Considering we had our three main midfielders out, without even mentioning Kris Commons, I’m not despondent.
We are crying out for a striker to hold the ball up and have the midfielders run in behind the defenders.
