I agree re Provan. He was right behind Celtic tonight.
I just wonder how his mind works sometimes though.
When the ball deflected off Virgil in the Ajax box and the striker was clear and hit it wide, Provan said, “The flag is up. It wouldn’t have counted.”
When the side-on replay was shown, the striker was well onside – apart from the fact that the ball came off Virgil anyway – and Provan started saying . . . he’s well onside, the linesman got that badly wrong.
Davie – the linesman raised his flag to indicate a goal-kick to Celtic.
Great great result. As ever, proud of the Bhoys, proud of us. I really hope Beram takes confidence from this and gets back to being the player he can be for us.

IMO I enjoy his posts he speaks a lot of sense and makes me actually laugh out loud, my Mrs is a converted Celtic fan from Aberdeen and loves to read his posts, ok it takes her a while to read them and I get a few questions ( as a Coatbridge Bhoy )

That may not be the best balanced Celtic team I’ve ever seen but they worked damn hard for the points tonight and showed bravery and skill.
Ajax have a good spine in Poulson, Fischer De Jong and the Icelandic forward. We matched them with Forster, Van Dijk and Ambrose. We then created some problems with Sammi and wee James for them.
Pleased with everybody’s efforts. Whatever you think of the subs, you are not privy to what Neil knows about the individual’s state of fitnes and injuries.

Absolutely fantastic result for the Celts tonight, we rode our luck a bit at times but we were certainly due a bit of luck in this comp. Glad that I didn’t have to listen to any pash interviews from De Boer and co after the game, Crocker is usually fair to us but Provan is a disgrace. The guy out here in Oz on SBS is always very fair to Celtic, David Zdrilic I think his name is, always talks up the stadium and the atmosphere. Would be great to get him over to experience it some time.

Some people seem to think a striker should just go on the park and score goals. Apart from the goals tonight, Celtic did not have one clear-cut goalscoring opportunity. Not one. That isn’t the fault of the strikers. It’s a mixture of lack of service and good defending. Pukki can be blamed for neither. He worked hard and, as I said earlier, when he did have the ball, he didn’t do much wrong.
Criticism of him tonight is very unfair and betrays a basic lack of football knowledge.

I try to read all posts here religiously, which means me skimming through all pages on a phone at 3am while knowing I need to be up at 4.30am.
But match days are excluded.
Don’t waste your time or breathe on match day commentary here. A few obvious reasons for that, and a shame for those that it matters to…but, fuds will particularly abound around such times.

Lenny has taken the best of our greats AND learned how to make it work in the SPL, and then turn it around for Europe.
A decent football historian in 100 years where normality has been returned to sport, would fill half a book for a man who has stood strong against all evil and attacks from morons and government, created a team on a restricted budget that could beat anyone on the planet, including the much credit Barcelona, and do it again a year later with a different team.
And having met Mr Neil Lennon more than once, I say – there are no words to describe this man, other than, Celtic Legend.
