We ran ourselves into the ground, which we had to do because there will little guile or craft.
It had to be workmanlike.
Toss up between C Mulgrew and V V Dyke for MoM.
CM’s intelligence and knowing when to cover team mates out of position was critical tonight – if possibly unnoticed.
Wee J Forrest still has that aspect to add to his game when he wasnt as sharp at covering in the 2nd half.
big Fraser looked like a great wall any time our defence looked like it might be penetrated.
I also think special praise for A Stokes because he chased and harried like a tiger tonight – not something that comes natural to him and was therefore a conscious effort of knowing he had to go over and beyond.
I dont know what Pukki is going to bring to this team, although I have faith in Lennon because he has gone pretty far out there in his pursuit and backing of the man.
I see someone who isnt going to add to the physical nature of our game, isnt going to win aerial battles and wont be therefore capable of holding the ball up overly effective. He also isnt quick enough to run in behind defences.
However, thats not his fault – so what do I see in his locker that he can influence..
Does he chase and harry – I dont think so. Does he go in for tackles and put his leg in where others wont – I dont think so.
So im a wee bit miffed at the min but as I said ill back Lennons judgement as being better than mine at this stage (he proved me way wrong on Forster!!)
All I want for Xmas is Kayal to be given 90 mins on the pitch too by the way!

I was seated above the Ajax fans. There were about 100 of them intent on trouble. lots of seats ripped out and thrown. They kicked off twice during half time break when Celtic supporters produced Palestinian flags.
What was also noticeable was it was the stewards who were holding them back and trying to keep order. Alex Army were standing by watching with very few getting involved.

Good result from a very hard working Celtic side.
Anthony Stokes stood out in that department for me; as busy as a busy bee.

Pukkie worked his arse off, and settled well in a new formation as did all the Bhoys.
Brilliant stuff from a brilliant team.
My worry is are the complainants plants from Jack Irvine or plants from a Celtic PR company to deflect from the potential exposure of evil bastard Jack Irvine. My feelings on the latter don’t worry me too much though, as his cookie is about to be crumbled.
Eyes Wide Open, Charlies covering didnt go unoticed by me. I cant pick a MOtM, so many candidates tonight. Beram had a great game, but did wander a little, Izzy got forward too and Charlie was always there.

To overcome that, and compete against FOOTBALL PLAYERS is amazing…

Really enjoyed tonight’s match, and a result which puts us into an interesting position as regards the next two fixtures.
When Forster eventually leaves us we’ll need to wipe our eyes with an unfathomably large pile of banknotes.
Van Dijk is improving with every passing game, and he was pretty impressive to start with.
Great to see reminiscent performances from Izzy and Beram. Both of these guys have had a rough old time trying to recapture form, but I thought they were terrific tonight.
Charlie Mulgrew is living the dream. A remarkable sequence of performances stretching back 2 years now.
Sammi: I run out of vocabulary.
James Forrest, really well played, not least given the recent illness and whatnot. Cool as one of Kojo’s cucumbers fresh from the cool box.
Easy to overlook Efe, but we’re pretty solid in the centre of defence, and he’s half of that.
Stokesy worked hard to little effect, bar neat footwork for the pen.
But Teemu Pukki. sorry chap, this is Celtic. That was a Champions League match. You were disinterested. I can accept that every player has an off night, it happens to the best. But indifference? I can’t accept that.
Lenny will sort you though. He’s pretty good at that sort of thing. Another clever game plan from one of the best young managers in the business.
