  1. Not long back in from Paradise….

    Awesome, amazing just fantastic

I really enjoyed that tonight, felt confident we would win all night long. Ajax huffed and puffed and had some chances but big Fra was up to the task.

Ajax fans – scum……. what was worse is the fact that more Celtic fans were ejected/arrested/spoken to by the SS scum. Unreal when you consider the amount of damage and disorder the Ajax “fans” were intent on creating. Be careful any Bhoys that are are going to the Dam…

James Forrest – coolness personified and a brilliant penalty kick especially given the pressure and the keepers antics. Beyond me how he was not cautioned.

I didn’t think we had a failure tonight (well with the exception of Biton whose challenge was ill advised to say the least) and it was good to see Kayal playing so well. Efe had one wee aberration but nothing came off it and he and Big Virgil were immense. Charlie Mulgrew had a cracking game. All round it was an excellent performance from the whole team and a fantastic win!

We are right in this group, if we can sneak a win in Amsterdam we can make the last 16

Best moment for me tonight was the 2nd goal as I knew it was in as soon as it was deflected and turned to grab Leaf Junior and he had the biggest grin on his face as he leapt out of his seat into my arms. A special moment for me I have to say!

Enjoying a cheeky wee Port or 5 watching the game….

Hail Hail and have a good night all

Oh and the tribute to St John Doyle was very special.

FFS mate ‘ I hate Forrest ‘ he’s not my favorite but he’s still a Celtic player, there’s plenty of Huns to hate so crack on with them HH

    Good Evening All,

    Just back from the game.

Excellent result with some very professional performances.

Izzy, Big Virgil, Charlie Mulgrew and Big Fraser all stood out tonight, and I thought Forrest showed real threat at times and fantastic composure for the penalty.

Hopefully Beram Kayal can fill his cup with confidence after that display where he worked his socks off, put in a couple of great tackles and deservedly got his goal– if you hit it clean and low from outside the box you are always in with a shout.

Sammi was Sammi– always a threat and I thought Stokes chased down well and used his head at times.

Efe had one of those nights where he occasionally reverted to a bomb scare but at others was very composed.

As for Pukki– I think he is heavy legged at the minute.

He can clearly turn a man, but he just doesn’t look sharp enough yet for me but hopefully that will come.

We can get a result against them in Amsterdam especially if Commons is fit– and that would make life very interesting.

  4. “It leaves us in a very good position,” he said.

“We have to get a result in Ajax if we can. It´ll

be very difficult, but on tonight´s evidence it´s

not beyond us. It´s opened up the group and

was a massive win in the context of the group.”

  5. Great team performance tonight, but special mention goes to big Fraser, Virgil, and Charlie.

Thought Beram had his best game for a while, hopefully it will help his confidence.

Delbhoy Jnr just in from game, he’s still buzzin, can’t sit down, he’s hoarse, can’t stop talking, the atmosphere, the goals, saw Ajax fans being “kettled” against Emirates wall, Green Brigade are brilliant, can I go to Milan game dad?

  6. 67 Heaven,

“Correct…..we always have to contend with those who would be moaners….comical, really……”

    Don’t start your moronic pish.

Why are you conflating clowns who might or might not be moaning Celtic supporters with Celtic Supporters who want to ask serious questions of the Celtic Board? Don’t do that, ffs, it displays idiocy.

There are serious questions needing asked of the Celtic Board, and the correct channels are being used to do this.

Blind and moronic defence of the Celtic Board in such a scenario is completely out of place. Unless you want to turn the next 24 hours into a debate about that…..

Well done to Lenny and all the Bhoys tonight

    GREAT RESULT .

As for any of the hurtin currants that say we were lucky ,well we were unlucky in games 1 and 2 not to have at least drawn both games ,so

    GIRFUY .

  8. Ffm,

Whose moronic p*sh? 67’s or mine? Camalar usually refers to my posts as p*sh. Night all.

  9. fergus slayed the blues on

Ajax fans were a disgrace .

What happened to the polis kettling tactic or is that reserved for the GB .

  10. kayal33

Two minutes to go and player got straight back up. Ajax player made it look worse than it was.

  11. The triangle of Ambrose, Van Dijk and Mulgrew in front of them looks better and better with each game. Add Lustig and a rejuvenated Izzy, with the Great Wall behind them all and we look like we have a defence that doesn’t look out of place at CL level. The days of the sieve seem long ago….

  12. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

He didn’t seem to make contact, but it was a high and reckless challenge with studs showing, the type that can do serious damage if contact is made. Don’t think he can have any complaints.

    Hahahahaha……was it something I said…?

There are those who just love Celtic, knowing that Celtic are not, and never could be, perfect. …….and there are those who just like to moan, but they are not idiots, they just like a wee moan……live with it…..could be worse, you could be a zombie…hahahaha

  17. paolosboots Good Luck Wee Oscar on

Great result wasnt expecting it to be as good a performance. Thought kayal did well and he will take alot of confidence from his performance. All gave a big effort and well done lenny for putting this patchwork midfield together. We are competing in this group and to finish third would be some effort!!!

I look forward to taunting and smiling him “black & blue ” in the morning.

in fact I think i will tell him I had Jamsie and 2-1 just to torture him.

Anyone who hates wee forrest on here is just a DOB lurker

  26. West CSC

Yes lots of problems, they tried to break through the cordon to attack Celtic fans when the penalty was scored. They then ripped up seats and threw them at the stewards, police and Celtic fans in close proximity. Lots of disorder.

The Police reaction was pretty non-existent except for them getting heavy handed with Celtic fans?!? Not a big surprise of course….

  27. FFM

We can go round in circles on this one as you make soooo many very bizarre posts !

The one I was referring to was the “Lenny has taken the best of our greats and learned how to make it work in the SPL and then turned it around for Europe ”

    What does that mean ?

  28. Biton – straight leg studs showing no contact with Ajax player proberly a red, if he made contact the Ajax boy would have been in trouble HH

  29. OK then, need to start with my two least favourite players, CM, AS…

Charlie was immense, made the right decisions at the right time and ( unlike him) quickly. Superb effort.

Anthony worked his socks off. As a striker there was nothing to see but he upset Ajax’s flow by prodigious hard work and tactically astute closing down. Couldn’t be prouder of him.

To all other Celts a huge ‘well done’. Not the best we’ve played but one of the most effective with the possible exception of last 15 mins.

Finally…Temmu…for the first time I saw the footballer in him. Some nice touches, good vision and a little burst of short distance pace. Not perfect, no evidence of being a striker but a real footballer and worker.

Could be massively wrong but I think, just a little, that we may have a little hidden gem. He’ll do it!
