    Same room,me and MACJAY?

Haha, aye. Brings a smile to my chops even thinking about it.

A huge surprise, totally unexpected. He attended the hoot a year ago, kids in tow.

And every much a gem in person as I expected him to be.

I’m always grateful for the people I have met through this site. Never a bad ‘un.

    HH yeezaw.

Should you two be on a ……………

    ……….eh………. Date ;)

  3. It’s widely agreed our finishing was abject tonight, and if it had been better we’d have won by 4,5,6 goals, maybe more.Yet people are saying Alloa defended well. How does that work?

If a team defends well the other team should get very few,if any, chances.Shite shooting does not equate to good defending.Allloa’s best defenders tonight were our shots.

  4. 21-5-79

OK I’ll do wan as you so eloquently put it.

Can I suggest 1690 or 12-07 for your next log in, it would be much less obvious.

  5. Well done !Jamsie. Couldn’t see where a goal was coming from. And Mousso, too. Was wetting my breeks. . Sign on the Alloa manager as a defensive coach. No humping as most expected. I still fear a humping v Man Citee !

  6. Good to get through and if conversions counted we would have been 10 up at half time!!

What has happened to Paddy Roberts??? He looks as dis-interested and fucked off with it as he could be?

He has been like this since preseason? The gallousness has been ripped right out of his game, he now passes more than he tries to beat his man?

  7. Not a great game to watch but to very skillful goals.

Third game in a row we have reverted to being a reactionary team.

Resulting in us looking like a team who struggle to string passes together.

When the players have no sense of position or off the ball movement they only look up and weigh their options once they receive the ball. This allows teams to close off space making passing options difficult.

If we play like this against City then the Barca result won’t look like a one off.

Guardiolas teams are designed to put pressure on man with the ball and with poor movement and a reactionary posture we could be in for a tough night.

There were signs of Brendan creating a more proactive style but in Israel.Spain.Dingwall and tonight that has largely disappeared with the resultant struggles.

Watched Man City at the weekend and if we stand of them like we did at Barca we will get ploughed again….

    MACJAY

IIRC,Van Morrison told us that. I was too young and styoooopit then to pay heed.

    I’m older now…

    ======================================================

Aaah , but I was so much older then , I`m younger than that now.

We ground out a result tonight.

    Played badly and won.

    A good sign.

  13. I will have the great pleasure of visiting Lennoxtown Tomorrow to get my photograph taken with the First Team Squad and Manager, for eighty odd minutes tonight l thought it might be a wee bit embarrassing, but thankfully we came good, also looking forward to the afternoon at Celtic Park, where the perfect Gentleman and great Tim, Tom Boyd is giving me a personal tour of the stadium, l’m like a wee Bhoy on Christmas Eve tonight

  14. Hunderbirds are Gone on

Kompany had his first start with sit ay tonight.

He went off injured near the end.

We can get at John Stones.

  15. Evening

Was at the game and thought CG could have gone for his tackle. No idea what possesed him. Guy certainly was not going to score but serious foul play is a straight red and if he’d gone then I would not thought it harsh. But far less contentious than Sunday .8

Team looked lackadaisical ( prob wrong spelling) until 70 minutes though KT was good going forward JF did well on the right. Really liked Ryan C when he came on – works hard and beginning to look like the player who looked good at ICT. Moussa D was pretty dire but what a great goal. Really hope that when Leigh G is back that we play 2 up in domestic games.

Not a great game but I was at Morton 3 years ago so I will take winning.

    Jim

  16. Eurochamps…….in anglers terms it means we can open the smelly jamjar too oh big fat braw wriggly worms…and start pulling oot braw big fish….I they will be wriggling and louping….

Great to be a Tim fisherman

  17. Well done Alloa, did what the three premiership visitors to CP this season’s couldn’t do, keep us to under four goals.

Hopefully after the second half at Inverness and 80 minutes tonight that’s the spell of bad finishing over.

Roberts has now played himself out of the City game next week, can see a spell on the bench for yang Patrick with some development team games to get his form back. After his abysmal shooting tonight I think I’ll bet on Rogic to score a hat trick on Saturday, he must have got a season’s worth of bad shots outbpfnhis system.

Tierney, Brown , Forrest the best on the night and good to see Jozo stroll through an hour.

  18. lymmbhoy … thanks for posting the goals.

The ball for Forrest was lovely ….. couldn’t see who made the pass, but it was nice … looked like JF had held on too long, but he managed to get his body turned, and finished nicely into the bottom corner .

Dembele’s goal was a cracker … lovely turn to beat the man, made enough space for a shot, and bam! the ball would still be rising if it hadn’t been stopped by the net!

    Naw,he’s too aul’ for that!

We’ve crossed swords for years on here, usually on the nightshift due to location and working hours.

Last night,re Norman Finkelstein, was probably the first time we’ve ever agreed on non-Celtic matters!

I disagree with his politics but I’ve never found recourse to abuse over it with him. Opinionated but pleasant. Meeting him in the flesh proved me right.

I hope it was as much a pleasure for him as for me.

    HH.

  21. As my old Dad used to say: Celtic would try the patience of a Saint!

Woeful shooting – maybe BR should’ve got them to switch boots at halftime – left boot on right foot/ right boot on left foot.

Thankfully we’re through – probably to meet tomorrow night’s winner with the Huns returning to the scene of the crime to play Morton.

Hope BR gets a copy of the ‘defensive template’ off Jack Ross for the City game!

  22. MIKE IN TORONTO…

Pass was from Christie,it was a thing of beauty, great control, vision and skill.

And to meet the other guys. Some of whom had…. eerm reservations.

Incidentally. Where`s Clogher these days ?

Just a jaunt from the cyber pub to the real pub. About a year ago.

Thank god , there is now much improvement in the Celtic Nation between then and now.

    How so ???????????

    :-)

    Finkelstein is some guy.

    Glad we agree.

    No mix up .

    Van sings , Bob disnae.

    A combo.

Lateral bloody thinking and mixed metaphors.

    What`s the problem ?

  27. Through to the next round and that’s all that matters. Credit to Alloa, I thought they were excellent and did themselves proud.

It wasn’t a red for me, I thought yellow at the time and Howard Webb agrees apparently.
