  1. Morning all.

    Lovely day here in Rome.

Time was on here that if someone used a swear word they would be reminded that children read this site. That sadly seems a thing of the past. Can we not agree to get back to it.

Didn’t see the game but a victory is a victory.

Speaking of the Aberdeen fans’ posters,I reckon you might see some arrests because of it all.

Mocking the afflicted has to be against some daft law.

Said it last week when tacticians were talking about BR using last night to try this that and the other.

Only thing last night'[s game was to be used for, was winning it.

I think that practice fell into desuetude during the period when you had to negotiate your way through a series of semi pornographic pop up adds to log on.

What in the name of the wee man was Craig Gordon thinking, making that idiotic lunge at the Alloa player? Had all the hallmarks of a player lacking in confidence which impacts on his decision-making.

    ###

His head is scrambled. Looks like he needs therapy rather than coaching.

The problem is that his replacement isn’t up to the job either.

Which of course affects the defence and makes them jittery.

Absolutely, one of the most noticeable traits of the Hun sites is the deplorable language and terminology. We are better than that. Also it is one of the few ” rules” that our host has asked for, and to ignore that is lacking in common respect..

Good post, although KT was immense last night. My concern last night was there were a few players whose first touch was poor which gave the opposition a chance to get in a tackle or for the chance of a decisive pass to be lost.

I don’t know what Brendan has to do but in the second half last night we looked as if we had run out of ideas. Christie looked up for it when he came on and his pass for the goal was brilliant

    Craig Gordon .

    Mis-timed challenge.

    Who hasn`t done that ?

    Looked good.

    Was good .

    Is good.

  9. Christie looked good last night. Pleased he got some game time.

Aberdeen will have a tough game tonight. They don’t have a great record against St Johnstone lately (from recollection, could be wrong). What if they lost tonight and on Sunday???

McInnes would surely be a goner…

  10. DAVIDOPOULOS –

St Johnstone hammered the Dons 3-0 at McDiarmid Park toward the end of last season, effectively ending any chance they had of mounting a challenge to Celtic.

  11. Yesterday’s Herald published an apology to Rangers. It seems that one of their legal/law journos wrote an article in which he openly urged Joey Barton, in the event of his dismissal, to sue the club for harrassment on the grounds of religious discrimination.

I have read the article and it really is highly irresponsible and downright inflammatory. It basically amounts to advising the guy to raise an at best mischevious, at worst dishonest lawsuit against an employer. The author even suggests he’ll get more damages from such a charge.

The Herald really has gone to the dogs.

  12. Took in the game last night

Well done Celtic, well done Alloa.

Best organised side I have seen at cp

    Good subs again from Brendan

    Thought Toms booking was harsh

And craig was lucky to stay on park

    Good patience paid off

Hebcelt good to see you on, spoke to B when he was last in bv gettin his tea.

    Keepin positive and thinkin o u ;-)

Hope you get a lift from A’deen

    Malorbhoy

Enjoy your tour of lennoxtown, dont be suggesting shootin practice :-)

All good.day off.a Celtic victory to relax to.

    Enjoy

  13. Dembele and Roberts went through the motions first half. Most others were trying but not at it. Roberts hasn’t been anywhere near his best since he returned from injury. He wants too many touches on the ball and doesn’t seem to be 100% fit. We need more from him.

BR is ruthless. Roberts was hooked at half time without a second thought. McGregor and Sviatchenko made errors in Inverness and both were dropped. No messing about.

Interesting article traditionalist. Id agree that with the european structures due to change, and noises from england, we may be for the first time in a while, a possible investment for those with lots of money

    ========

Yes it was, always good to read forecasts of a positive future. Thats a couple of forecasts I’ve read predicting massive a increase in the value of the club in the short to medium term future – to a extent which would seem impossible (only) playing our football in Scotland, where media values are such that we have a hand tied behind our back.

  15. ” Well done Celtic, well done Alloa.”

A fair comment, AT. There was a lot to like about both Alloa and their supporters.

I would add Broonie to the Christie and Tierney list and, although he made many mistakes, Lustig put in a great shift in terms of effort. I also thought Forrest had a good game; Sinclair caused Alloa problems, Toure was his usual self and Simunovic showed that he might become a very good player. Armstrong worked hard but is still not the player I was hoping he would become. Big Tom showed his usual excellent touch but his shooting was dreadful. Roberts had a poor game. Dembele a superb goal on an otherwise lethargic night. I didn`t mean to give my opinion on every performance there. It just happened! Good substitutions as well !

Finally, seems to me that too many base assessment on the score alone. On a less profligate night, we could have reached double figures ( maybe even if Gordon had received the red card his tackle deserved).

  16. embramike says "the Huns are Deid" on

    from http://www.uefa.org/disciplinary/index.html

    Friday 16 September 2016 15.25CET

Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Champions League play-offs, first leg, between Celtic FC and Hapoel Beer-Sheva FC (5-2), played on 17 August in Glasgow (Scotland).

    Charges against Celtic FC:

    – Illicit Banner – Art. 16 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations

This case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 28 September.

  17. On the subject of a change of football environment for Celtic, in the autumn of 2015, I was in the company of a Westminster MP. He knew of my love for Celtic and told me a very interesting story.

According to the MP, who shall remain nameless, following the 2014 Indyref, the Westminster government made representations to the English Football bodies with a plan to facilitate the introduction of an unspecified number of Scottish clubs into the English league structure.

The idea was to, in the foreseeable future, have Scottish clubs enjoying the rich pickings of the English game, only to threaten to end the arrangement should Scotland, at any time in the future, opt for independence.

In other words, a cunning plan to provide the Scottish voters with a carrot and a stick, should a move towards a second indyref gather momentum. Obviously the thinking is, with so many Scots voters being football supporters, independence would be dead in the water should our expulsion from the English game be a promised consequence.

I did not post this on CQN at the time, because quite frankly, I thought it was pure fantasy. I did bring the information to the attention of a handful of CQNers, including Paul67 indirectly.

In view of recent noises emanating from down south regarding a 5th division, I am now not so sure. Maybe what the MP said begins to make sense.

    Who knows? I certainly don’t.

I was just about to say that lol:-)

I’d simply amalgamate the four home associations. Would be in Celtic’s best interests. Might upset the nats though.

It’s certainly upset the tartan army, as without a home association we’d lose the Scottish national team. That may be no bad thing, as they’re largely moronic.

I also happen to know two members who have a) never been to a club game and b) aren’t actually interested in football at all. they just like the socialising.

You are taking an unexpected interest in promoting the good deed of the GB…..hmmmm.

Been telling you all for months, we need to find space for young Ryan Christie :-)

    Hail Hail

  24. I have to say well done to the dandy Dons fans for their plans for first ever game against Sevco.

Thanks to ALL on here for helping me read those plans and posters from Aberdeen…respect !

I can’t wait as these plans will certainly ” pump up the volume” !

As for Celts v Alloa match, the way it was going for 80 odd minutes reminded me of my ” disco dancing days”, when the gaff was full of available women…..and I still couldn’t score !

Politicians are not going to have any say In EPL.Uefa are trying and failing to control EPL, money goes to power.

it was discussed during debate, laughed at along with the repetition of reject letter saying they have again voted to reject.

If you have ploughed money in like your leicester or everton etc,why would you vote to accept us in with no history or pedigree in that league.

Politicians the equivelant of windae hingin wifies in the gorbals .Tell yir pal to fluff his pilla :-)
