We need to dust ourselves down and put this game behind us there is no doubt the Rangers will feel they have a good chance on Sunday.We dont want heads to go down Brendan needs to earn his corn and get the Bhoys up for it after tonight the team will be feeling awee bit fragile. H.H.

Let’s not let this score detract from the visible improvement in the team.
Two avoidable defensive lapses from the last person I would expect brought them their goals.
First one was when we were starting to take the game to them.
The second took the wind out of our sails and the crowd out of the match.

You know my feeling on the suits, they only care about themselfs, but we are where we are, it’s as good as it gets in reality, we are watching CL footy, albeit we are getting humped but at least we are there to get humped, having lived through decades of nothing I am actually enjoying watching us agin the crem de la cerm.
We are miles away from them, we may never get near them, the world may well nuke itself te feck next year, and that’s no that far away from reality, so am just enjoying us against the big boys while it lasts.

Thought it was a remarkably lazy performance from too many players tonight. You have to track back when you lose the ball and we didn’t. Midfield non-existant, they looked like they had 15 players on the park. Same performance as we did against Barca, standing around admiring them and a million pointless sideways passes when we did have posession, again because the midfield reeked and wouldn’t show for the ball.
Turkeybhoy – a wee bit harsh but a lot of truth too. The last few years in particular have seen us shipping goals when there appears to be no danger whatsoever. Sometimes wonder if the home crowd intimidates our own players more than the opposition.

Always thought this season was to early for us in Europe.
But the experience will stand us in good stead.
We have some good players but not enough to compete at this level.
Our net spend is pretty low so hopefully Brendan is given money to upgrade the weaker areas in January window.
One noticeable thing about the players at this level is the ability to open their bodies to the right angle when receiving a pass.
It gives them time, space and options for the next move.
Outclassed.

How is it we wait until the Euro games to make the huge blunders.Its like a curse.The more modern Celtic fans might not know this,but we have been doing it for 40 years.
We make mistakes like that in the SPL be we are not punished to the same level. That’s the problem. For the second goal how many SPL players would have taken the ball and scored?

They were technically better. Very proficient as German teams are. We made the mistakes and they severely punished us. Simples.
If Luis Enrique had any sense, he would play a totally pish team against us in the last game, he would know better that most that eliminating a potential oppo is the right thing to do, so a win in Manchester and a win against a second string Barca team may well be enough, I can but dream.
The crap that we would take four points off BM was just that, crap, thay are miles ahead of us, miles.
Hola from Cala d’Or. Big Kolo has only made 2 mistakes in his whole Celtic career. Unfortunately both were tonight. We just need to win in Germany, by any score, and I’m sure well finish 3rd. Simples!
The Germans did their homework on us and made sure our defenders had nowhere to go when they had the ball at their feet. Surprised that we kept going with our tactics when they clearly weren’t working. Occasional long ball into the box might have been worth a punt.
you know Besiktas are absolutely rubbish this year,and last,and they go to Napoli and win 3-2.This is CL football.Messi gets his 37th hat trick against the richest club in the world.Crazy.It just shows how hard it is at this level.
Anyway,we knew this was our breaking in season.We know the manager wants more players to get the team he wants,to play the team he wants.Next year,unless we get a miracle in Germany.

Disappointed but not really surprised. BMG are quite obviously a very good team. They played the way we aspire to play. They well deserved their victory even if we gifted them their goals. CL is different class.
Watched the first goal again they had two players in our box one to win it the other to have a shot incidentally I think Erik was slow to react to compound Kolo’s mistake, the second goal ball given away two players do the damage again, but the german team deserved to win we never got going and when the ball went forward they had four surrounding our one.

The Exiled Tim – Nice thought but I doubt if Barca have a single “pish” player in their squad. They lost two key players tonight to injury and had a player sent off but never missed a beat.
I reckon getting beat tonight will help us no end against the hun at the weekend.
Nothing like a defeat to get the players back on the winning track and no better….or worse team to do it against.
Feck them, I hope they burn in hell for all eternity, twice.

Agreed – letting your full-backs go too far forward is a risky game at this level

BMG’s passing was excellent – every time a midfielder turned he was looking for a dangerous pass. I was impressed by them. They deserved their win.

Cant accept that ET.I have been watching them since we drew them,and they have been gash.4-=0 against 2nd bottom,and 0-0 against everyones whipping boys,Hamburg who had 10 men for 65 mins.They are no world beaters.I just think tonight,we were so inept all over the park,we made them look good.

Sometimes a cavalry charge approach is the right one.
Challenge a defence . Put them under pressure .
They obviously had the ” frustrate game ” down pat.
Hopefully we learned from them tonight.
But hey Brendan telle us we are getting better, it surely must be true?
