    Are Elsborg not 16 games into their season?

     

     

    They should be running up scorelines.

     

     

    We should be a few weeks further in terms of match sharpness and fitness. We might even have new signings and the signings we have will be more confident in the team and the team in them.

     

     

    Confident we can go out and give a good account of ourselves. Will that be enough?

     

     

    Hope so but we will still be Celtic if it aint

    Re Gary Hooper, I’m hoping he realises that he ain’t getting a big English club anytime soon and that he is offered an increased contract, one that would encourage home to improve and then move on perhaps in Jan or next summer, win for Hoops and a win for us.

     

    He’s a Celtic player and a decent striker, we may need him for the next qualifiers.

    There’s the rub mate, we either haven’t signed that man or Hoops is staying against Elfsborg I would expect Gary to start, CL experience etc etc..

     

     

    We played well in Sweden last year let’s hope we are up for a similar result next week..

    I was very impressed with Kayal before the injuries started, he’ll get better every match I reccon. Let’s see what other striker will ome in and how Amido will fit in.

    I’ve always thought he was holding out for a better deal. At no point has Hooper even said he wishes to leave.

     

     

    I think Celtic are more desperate than Hooper is to move on at this point – because the club doesn’t want to lose him on a Bosman.

    Hooper may wish to join the EPL bore fest because of the megabucks on offer or because he feels that as a Celtic player he is being unfairly overlooked for an England cap. Realistically, he can expect a regular cap in England if he’s playing for a top six team, he can however make big money for not a great deal of effort. It’s a judgement call

    Fair comment and I have to agree I’ve never heard him explicitly request a transfer, neither did Vic for that matter.

     

    And my argument is based on the premise that he wants away, if he doesn’t then that’s a different matter, I just don’t think he does want to stay.

    hooper should be played at every oppertunity until he signs ir goes..would you keep a top of the range bmw in the garage or drive it?he might want top dollar to stay which i think he does,i dont believe his head had been turned but i think he will see that no big clubs have entered the bidding that we know of and that might help him make a decision who knows realy?its all guess work and fans are understandibly frustrated,obviously we dont want him sold in the last hour of the transfer window and have no replacement ,that would be a worry.

    It’s all about opinions I suppose.

     

     

    I think Gary’s head has been turned by his agent. I think he feels playing for us stands in the way of an England cap.

     

    I think he’s wrong on both counts and I rate him highly as a striker.

     

     

    It would be interesting to see if he did stay this season (which I doubt very much), how many other English born strikers would get further in Europe this season.

     

     

    I would love to see him sign an extension. Until then, bottom of the pecking order IMO.

    Guys a note for everyone – last year at this time Helsinki thrashed some Icelandic team by about 10-1 before they played Celtic.

     

     

    Celtic won the tie 4-1 despite losing the first goal of the tie.

     

     

    Don’t be afraid, be professional and our class will shine through.

    Been reading back on the lies and disinformation re Brentford.

    Not only was I at the game,in various hostelries before and after,I watched it the home stand.

     

     

    I also spoke to various security and police personnel-too long to explain-and everyone was delighted with our fans.

     

     

    As STEINREIGNEDSUPREME will back me on,there is no way access to the area was blocked, as has been alleged,and parking spaces were freely available-which p….d SRS off mightily as we got out the taxi!!!

     

     

    So I think the club should make a priority of ensuring that Saturday’s history is recorded properly,and that means retractions.

     

     

    Immediately.

     

     

    We should not settle for being branded as s… any more than we settled for being labelled thugs and thieves.

     

     

    Otherwise,if the club accept this level of reporting,there is no point in attending matches where we are gonna be libelled.

    Am sure Lenny has said a few times that he thinks he will stay. Is this a case of the club wanting to cash in when the management and the player want the club to pay a little more to keep our talent?

     

     

    Lenny said in the last few days that he would be speaking to him regarding his future.

     

     

    This IMO is a battle between the player and management versus the club.

     

     

    We are told repeatedly that we buy young and cheap and develop then sell on.

     

     

    Not too sure that many of the players agree with this. BigVic certainly looked liked he will miss us according to his tweets. Did he go willingly or was he given a little push?

     

     

    Is the same thing happening to Hoops?

     

     

    Are the management and player digging in a little?
