Can’t agree with poster who said Hooper’s head has been elsewhere since we turned down Norwich bid in January. He scored a few good goals in the last half of the season, including the Scottish Cup final.
I think some people see anyone considering moving away from Celtic as some sort of betrayal. They’re professionals. Hooper is an Essex boy. He wasn’t born and raised in the Celtic tradition like a Billy McNeill or a Jimmy Johnstone. Celtic isn’t the be-all and end-all of the football world. Larsson left Celtic, as did Wanyama.
Hooper should be played until he leaves, and that might not be for a while yet.

Thanks for responding. No go anywhere.
Last few games of last season it looked like CelticTV were putting individual viewer numbers on the corner of each feed. This enabled them to track which of the subscribers were broadcasting the feeds.
Looks like the message has been received and no one is broadcasting

I had a conversation with Tony Hamilton a couple of years ago when he was responsible for Celtic TV and his worry was that it was not making enough money to cover the costs of providing it.I think that CTV is very cheap way of watching all games compared to the cost of attending half the games.
His word were “we cannot compete with nothing” nothing being folk watching for free.
The temptation is always there when the game is not being shown in the UK to use a stream and my answer to that dilema of conscience is to subscribe to even the audio addition of CTV, where you can also watch the game afterwards.
Call it an “honesty box” payment if a stream is being used. Celtic could not support that idea but at least they get some payment towards their costs and watchers are indirectly paying to watch.

MH type manipulation of the story is so evident. McMurdo & Leggo are low level chisellers on a ‘retainer’. Press releases to local ‘cat in tree rags’ and pressure applied to Scottish scribblers to repeat the message.
Unfortunately for PR guru sorts, people, companies and local authorities are starting to realise that these people are the modern equivalent of snake oil salesmen. In these austere times budgets are coming under forensic scrutiny, PR is rightly seen as an unnecessary waste.
Charlotte has done a sterling job in both exposing the underhand methods employed and how it’s only ever a short term fix when faced with the truth.
Media House were only effective when they had editors in their pocket. They are unable to control bampots, bloggers and independent journalists.

I can confirm that.
That thing in the local paper was so badly written it was pathetic. It was full of contradictions and the only facts stated were; the polis made two arrests, Brentford did not make any statement condemning Celtic fans, while Neil Lennon praised our supporters.
As for the more sinister claims – they originated from Chris Graham. He has been proven wrong several times in the last year with his ludicrous attempts to smear Celtic fans – using the death of Lee Rigby on two occasions now, the mental condition of a former Rangers player and the death of 66 Rangers fans.
Graham is a compulsive liar as well as a dim-wit.

I agree. However its a catch 22 for Celtic. The internet has opened up and people now expect to be able to get freebies online.
I have seen a lot of comments online that the Scottish based Celtic fans feel ostracized as they cannot get a live feed. However catch 22 again as if Celtic open it up to scottish based fans they will no doubt see a knock on effect on season book sales.
There must be a compromise? The compromise is value. What value can Celtic give the Scottish based fans to allow them to pay £40 a month to see live games? This I believe would make it beneficial to the club to take hit on season book sales.
This is the kicker. How can we keep both the club and the fans happy?
Minds sharper than mine are no doubt thinking this through.
The CelticTV is a gold mine that is largely untapped. The potential for growth here is huge is the club can get it right.
Could we get 100,000 UK fans to pa £20 a month? Thats £2,000,000 a month and a mind melting £24 million a year.
It is possible. The club tho are there to make money and it would require significant investment without seeing a major return for a few years.
This, I believe, is the biggest stumbling block.
We have the fans who can and would pay if the product was right. However to make the product right would require a major investment before it sees profit.
When UEFA make these draws, they have the seeded balls in one glass bowl and the unseeded balls in another bowl. They draw one ball from each bowl and place them in a third, empty bowl and mix them up before picking the home team for the first leg.
Being seeded does not guarantee an away first leg. It only guarantees that you are drawn against an unseeded team.

The huns’ reputation is so bad that they gave up on self rehabilitation ages ago. I have harped on at length about their litany of shame. Therefore all thats left is to drag us into their cesspit through max negative media and the LL are a willing player.
The ‘battle of Dens park’ on boxing day saw less than one third of the arrests at the Stirling 1 Sevco 0 game yet made headines and news for two weeks.
The msm (and MH) must confronted. I cannot imagine Jock or Fergus allowing these people to poison our name just to balance us up with Britain’s worst fans. PL will have act at some point. The huns have very little going for them the next few years so them and the LL continue the fake stories and mud slinging.

I think Celtic TVs hands are tied with regards to showing live games online. With the SPL, SFPL or whatever they are calling it now, they are tied by the television contracts which forbid the live broadcasting of games within the UK and Ireland. I believe UEFA have the same rule for CL and EL games but Celtic can not even broadcast these matches outside the UK and Ireland.
It really annoys me hearing people bitch about Celtic TV. I find they provide a great service, particularly for the ex-pats. Some have had problems with the video streams but for me the quality has been good…not HD but pretty damn good. I enjoy the commentary with definite Celtic bias…I would expect nothing else from CTV.
I can understand people going to the illegal streams but for Gods sake at least give the club the money by subscribing to CTV also. I and many other ex-pats would be lost if CTV had to close down due to lack of support from Celtic fans.

My Dear,Dear Kojo…
I Agree With Your Comments Concerning The Over-Exuberant Behaviour….
Of Misguided Elements Of Our Support…
At Brentford On Sunday….
The Spectacle Of The ‘Pitch Invasions’..
However Benign And Good-Natured…
Will Not Help To Press Our Case For Admission To The English League….
Both Clubs,And Supports,Appeared To Treat This Fixture Much Like A ‘Gala’ Event….
Of A Bygone Age….And A Healthy Atmosphere Was Evident….
Nonetheless,Jack Warner & His Peelers Showed Commendable Restraint,With Their Low-Key Non-Interventionist Approach…
Similarly,The Individual Club Security Personnel Should Be Congratulated For Applying Common Sense…..
And Not Over-Reacting To The Events…
However,Just One Confrontatation….
One Misunderstanding ,Even….
Could Have Lead To The Appearance Of Wider Disorder….
And Things Could Have Spiralled From There….
We Enjoyed A Laissez-Faire Approach From The Police And Security….
But Such Benign Treatment Has Been Rare In Our Travels…
We ‘Dodged A Bullet’….Make No Mistake
These Self-Indulgent Individuals Are Holding Our Club Hostage To Fortune..

As Far As NFL’s Comments After The Event,He Could Only Do His Best To Take Any Heat Out Of The Situation….
And Minimise Any Damage To The Reputation Of Our Travelling Support…
The Celtic Board Must Impress On The Various Celtic Supporters’ Associations..
That Such Scenes Of ‘Over-Exuberance’ Must Be Curtailed…..
Really enjoyed the game tonight. Some of the players are almost “there” and was pleased with Balde’s debut too.
Crowd looked a lot more than 29,000. Although, the closure of part of the upper tier in the Lisbon Lion’s stand was a sad sight.
