    So he signs when?

The boy’s head has been turned. He wants away so why play him?

Get some game time at this level for the players that are going to be here for the rest of the campaign.

  2. I’m inclined to agree, I Hooper isn’t signing then he shouldn’t be getting picked, someone who wants to play for us should be picking up the win bonus.

  3. ……..and what if Hooper is still with us next week.

Do we play him against Elfsborg, bearing in mind that tonight is his first action after injury in pre season?

He is a Celtic player until he’s not.

If he’s so desperate to leave why hasn’t he done so?

As a matter of interest, has Anto signed a new deal yet?

  5. @ John O Neil The Austrian league started last week. Hoping we gonna play them btw.

    HH from Vienna ;)

  6. Starry..,

Naw same applies, I’d rather see someone who wanted to play for us get first chance at the win bonus.

  7. 5k or30k per week its immaterial to me. I would pay either to turn out for Celtic. But then again I am an old romantic. Sent from my phone so any typos are caused by Carlsberg.

Gary Hooper is Celtics top scorer and until he leaves he is a Celtic player and me I tend to agree with Neil, Gary plays and helps us qualify…common sense..

    Re Hooper

He is being handsomely paid to score goals for us

    Play him until he’s gone

He wants to play in EPL to help get England gig

All the mooted potential boltholes have found another striker and he won’t get playing for England wi QPR

Does he REALLY want to go there??

He’s not gone till he’s gone

  10. I would leave Hooper on the bench to show him first hand what he’ll be missing for probably the rest of his life

  11. Totally different set of circumstances IMO.

Hooper’s head has not been in it IMO since Celtic knocked back Norwich last year. He seems intent in moving on as soon as everyone is happy.

I think Stokes wants to stay but the deal on offer is not good enough. How long is it for, 1 year, 2 years?

  12. I will take a 5-0 aggregate win at this stage of the season every day.

    Scored goals and never conceded.

Well done the bhoys, onwards and upwards.

    Hail Hail

  13. Celtic Win

    Cliftonville..Dinnae.

    Ah enjoyed the Game.

    Kojo

    Happy as Larry.

    First out the hat

Seeding only guarantees you a relatively easier draw but BATE Borisov may disagree

  15. Celtic win 5-0 on aggregate.

    Elsborg win 11-1 on aggregate.

Am I the only one who is worried?

  16. Starry..,

Fair enough, and it won’t be the first time I’ve disagreed with Lenny but I’d still rather see who ever is expected to take his place, take his place.

  17. 79caps

Slightly, but we could’ve done that to Cliftonville but we like them ;)

  18. Don’t worry 79. Celtic will show the same professional aproach to the game and go to the next round. No worries there :)

Their situation is exactly the same – Hooper and Stokes have one year left on their current contracts.

Both have been made offers by the club which they have refused to sign.

Only one of them is getting a hard time – possibly because he is the subject of media speculation.

I think both of them are holding out for better deals – and they are within their rights to do so.

Celtic pay their wages, and as long as they are available to play they should be considered for selection.

  20. 79 caps, you may well be the only one. The Swedes are mediocre. Get Celtic Park full and our Bhoys will sort that lot out.

  21. I’m not so sure. I’m worried about playing Kayal and Stokes against decent opponents.

  22. John O Neil

If they are so mediocre, how did they score 11 against a team that must be at least as good as Cliftonville?

  23. SRS,

Seriously, do you think Hooper is just holding out for a better deal ? Or does he want away ?
