What a great day. Went to the game and witnessed an absolutely splendid Celtic performance. I’m now relaxing with a few bottles of Beck’s and catching up with the excellent comments on the blog and then I come upon a post from Tri Coloured a Ribbon to top off the day. So glad you’re able to post again TCR after your terrible experience. I’ve been praying for you.

Welcome back TCR. Hope you are well. Delighted to see you back posting,
I had a true love if ever a girl had one
I had a true love a brave lad was he
One fine Easter Monday. he threw his arms around my waist,
and started away for to make Ireland free
For all around my hat I wear a tri-coloured ribbon, oh
All around my hat until death comes to me
And if anybody’s asking me why do I wear it
It’s all for my own true love I never more will see
He whispered “Goodbye love, old Ireland is calling
High over Dublin our Tri-colour flies
In the streets of the city the foe man is falling
And wee birds are whistling “Old Ireland arise”
For all around my hat I wear a tri-coloured ribbon, oh
All around my hat until death comes to me
And if anybody’s asking me why do I wear it
It’s all for my own true love I never more will see
In praying and watching the dark hours passed over
The roar of the guns brought no message to me
I prayed for Old Ireland, I prayed for my lover
That he might be safe and Old Ireland be free
For all around my hat I wear a tri-coloured ribbon, oh
All around my hat until death comes to me
And if anybody’s asking me why do I wear it
It’s all for my own true love I never more will see
The struggle was ended, they brought me the story
The last whispered message he sent unto me
“I was true to my land, love, I fought for her glory
And gave up my life for to make Ireland free”
For all around my hat I wear a tri-coloured ribbon, oh
All around my hat until death comes to me
And if anybody’s asking me why do I wear it
It’s all for my own true love I never more will see

I followed the match commentary here on the blog. The result was a good remedy after the last couple of weeks. Our form always seem to dip after a Euro match and we’ve been waiting to skelp someone +4 goals or more. Let’s hope the form can continue and the whole squad steps up.
Thanks everyone

*****Last Man Standing 5-No Mexican weatherghirls here*****
Good Evening fholks
Welcome back to a new season and LMS 5, which kicks off Saturday 3rd October.
This is the first competition of the new season and we will continue to support Shay McGinley (age 2) and his young family. Thanks to your incredible support last year we raised over £5,300 through LMS and other CQN funding raising activities. This has gone along way to support Shay’s first and second year of treatment. We have a further year to support the wee fella.
The competition will cost £10 each to enter, and like in LMS4 you will be allowed to buy extra lives in rounds 1 to 3 for a similar amount.
Payout will again be 50% to the Last (Wo)man Standing and 50% to Shay…..
…and all you have to do to is simply select a unique winning team each week from the list of fixtures provided. Dead easy :-) How can you fail not to win?
The winner of LMS4 netted a cool £425.
So to register, you must firstly send us an email to cqnlastmanstanding@gmail.com ( please tell us your name and CQN moniker if you have one) and secondly make sure payment is made by Saturday 3rd October. Payment details and rules will follow on registration.
Please also tell your friends and family about this competition, as the more that enter mean the more you ( and Shay ) can win.
Finally, thank you for your support and good luck in becoming the last (wo)man standing!

On top of our excellent victory today, Tricoloured Ribbon posting , has made today even better. Hopefullly, the a-holes who assaulted him get what’s due to them, in legal terms of course. Big Tam Rogic was terrific today, great close control for a tall guy. A few through balls he tried didnt come off but its good he has an eye for a pass and hopefully his passing becomes as good as his close control.
The difference in him is incredible. I’m sure this is his fourth season with us and I , like many of support, would like his improvement continues and his fitness issues are in the past.
Dundee may fall into the crap category as constantly posted but at least Paul Hartley has them trying to play football on the deck. Greig Stewart was quiet today , I’m pleased to say. He has been very impressive for Dundee last season and so far this season.
Evening bhoys and ghirls – i must be one of those glory-hunting types – only show up online when we win ! Not true , really , but tend to deal with our defeats in my own way.
Anyway today ……… WOW . What a day .
Attended the dedication ceremony at Big Jocks statue organised by the Celtic Graves Society – take a bow bhoys – you did Celtic , Jock and yourselves proud – Bertie Auld spoke from the heart about the big man.
Then we had 60 guests from Downs and Proud and 40 from Downs Scotland – and they were a credit to themselves and their group – even got to meet Broony , Nir , Efe , GMS , Nadir , Janko and Bailly after the game .
Also met up with Malorbhoy (thanks) , MountblowTim (thanks) , Dena , Weefra (glad you’re feeling better) and a certain TOHG who now has a shiny new golf umbrella – dont know if we do polos in your size tho ! ;)
Oh , and we also won 6-0 (going on 12) with one of the most relaxed , free-flowing displays ive seen in a while -first 20 mins v Malmo possibly. Had about 5 contenders for man of the match , not counting Dundee keeper and was pleased for Saidy Janko – he looks like he wont be pushed about and has an eye for goal .
Also really pleased for Nadir – getting the monkey off his back re first goal will , i think , allow him to relax and settle into the club – does anyone know why his earlier effort was disallowed ?
Only 3 sleeps till another visit to Paradise – i must have been a good bhoy this week.

Beg to differ on that analysis. Irony is Unionists bringing down structures over the murders of TWO WC Catholics Jock Davidson and Kevin Mc Guigan who they care not a jot for.
Simple fact of the matter is that violence costs you votes particularly in the Southern part of our island.
Too many vested interests in the media waiting to jump all over it. Gerry Adams getting arrested just before the Euro elections in connection with the disappeared, Cahill case et al. In North they are used to the dark arts. Hopefully some day we get opportunity to discuss these matters over a pionta. For the time being after that magnificent performance today time to discuss the Celtic.
