    Good to see Ciftci scoring. Dundee fans in the Springfield Vaults before the game and they absolutely hate him. Long trip home for them.

    Paddybhoy: Agree with you re negativity. I stayed away from the blog for most of the week after last week’s loss. You would swear we never lost a game before. Oldtim came on a couple of times and I should have backed him up.

     

     

    I’m a happy clapper tonight, but more to do with The Dubs. Delighted for Rogic. Seems to have had a good game. I think he has a big future with us.

    The most disgusting thing about the DUP and UUP is that loyalist areas are completely under the thumb of the UVF and UDA and making a lot of their own people’s lives a misery.

     

     

    Yet, it doesn’t seem to bother them ?

    Celtic Mac at 9.02, I had the same opinion as you about Tom. With a bit of luck, his good run of form will continue.

     

     

    I appreciate he didn’t play that well last week but it will very pleasing, as you posted, if his mental and physical strength get better , we should have a player.

     

     

    If he can perform to today’s level consistently, particularly in europe , he wiil be a real asset.

     

     

    Tom seems to use his right foot more , he had a very good shot in the first half with it, and I’m a very happy supporter seeing our players use their weak foot with no hesitation.

    There was so much to be pleased about with that performance today.

     

     

    The defending was measured and intelligent and there were no unnecessary errors. Efe had his best game in a long time because he concentrated on defending and didn’t try anything stupid.

     

     

    Boyata was solid as well for the same reasons.

     

     

    Janko was impressive

     

     

    Izzy was great and then we had the mental comedy moment.

     

     

    The midfield and attack had movement, purpose and the goals to match.

     

     

    Ciftci getting his goal was fabulous – he’ll kick on from here.

     

     

    The best thing was simply getting a performance where the team went for the jugular and scored the goals their play deserved.

     

     

    There is nothing to be critical about. We should all be happy.

     

     

    Produce that level of performance every week and everyone stays happy.

    Always pleased to see a player improve and hopefully progress. If we cannot buy better players improve the ones we have already, including some of our own homegrown. Nir Bitton is another who has taken a great stride forward under Ronny. A settled defence, (there are some good players in front of them), albeit with players able to come in when needed, and Ronny just might take this team forward again.

    In my opinion any criticism of the performance at Aberdeen was justified.

     

     

    The problem was that other issues were added to the mix, not related to that one off game, and that consequently led to a greater degree of negativity.

    There are a band of posters here, who are always posting doom & gloom but so far none of them have made an appearance tonight. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind had we lost a point today, they would now be dominating the blog. They will be back tomorrow probably giving grudging acknowledgement of today’s Celtic performance but reminding us that Dundee are only a pub team. What is it with these guys is their desire to be proved correct overriding their joy in seeing Celtic do well.

    corkcelt …. ahem…. as I already pointed out to EDB, I think I am a mineshafter (albeit, probably unofficially, as I haven’t been to the swearing in ceremony yet), and I have been posting all day. Admittedly

     

    , I”m in a pretty good mood today … at least, for a mineshafter, so you could be forgiven for not recognizing my mineshaftedness today..

     

     

    But, to prove my credentials, I will say that, in spite of 6 goals today, I still think we need a striker coach…. and Lawwell out!

    Celtic Mac, I meant to add , when Tom played against Dundee Utd last month, he wasn’t played in an advanced posotion, he performed well , admittedly against not the best Utd team in the last 35 years.

     

     

    Nir Bitton showed in glimpses, when Neil was boss, what he could do.

     

     

    Thankfully, he’s now a regular starter .

     

     

    Dundee’s Nick Ross asked Nir for his top at the end of the game with Nir obliging.

    HT: how’s it going bud? I don’t disagree. But sometimes there is too much negativity on the blog. I agree with Corkcelt (and I admire him all the more for supporting the Dubs), too many cyber supporters willing to knock us for the wrong reasons. We shouldn’t expect to win all matches, disappointment yes – especially poor performances- but over a league campaign we will win most and lose a few.
