  1. Could it not be that Lee Harvey Oswald was simply a head banger. The Kennedy Detail: JFK’s Secret Service Agents Break Their Silence by Gerald Blaine makes good, if at times seeming contradictory reading.

Maybe its the system that is at fault.

There aint enough chances being created.

Perhaps the best illustration of this is that there is currently a belief that Celtic’s best scoring chances will come from set pieces.

Missing the point. Not enough coming from open play. And there won’t be until creativity and striking stakes are upped.

Very well done to the Celtic ladies team who have beaten the team from the Ran*ers group of companies. Score was 2-1.

    Made me smile :))

  9. To be honest I’d be very surprised if we by a striker over during the next transfer window.

Our primary target every year is to win the Scottish Premier League. The current group of players seem to have this in hand. We also look to get into the Champions League groups stages, anything beyond that is a bonus. Again all in hand. Why would the board sanction further spend given how much the current squad has achieved?

If we do sign someone it is likely to be a young player, from Scotland or abroad, who looks like a good prospect.

If I was PL and Neil came and ask for £5 million to spend on a striker in the transfer window, I’d ask him what need will this new player fill. He might say, to give the fans a better product on the pitch, but I doubt he would as it open Neil up to questions like why did you not spend the money we gave you to do that? Are the players you bought sub-standard?

With the current squad I believe we will win the league and get a wee run in the Europa League.

We will buy better players come the summer. The club took a gamble this year and it paid off. They will not ride their luck again. In my opinion of course.

    Hail Hail

  10. No Jude I am not. If you were offered a lot of money to help your family then you would likely take it. Principles(if they exist) are usually lost then. Take Unite’s leader Len for example. Jon Daly is irrelevant to Celtic and isn’t very good. If he is successful at his club then he may well make a little contribution towards more goodwill within Scottish society. Few in Ireland appear to care about his move – why should we? We all castigated the huns for their signing policies but when their zombie incarnation changes that, we condemn the player.

  11. This could be a nice time to play Ajax, they seem to to be in free-fall at the moment.

Wont be there for this one as the last visit to their ArenA said enough about their ‘Fans’

Keep together would be my message for all travelling to this one.

  12. Barca are more than happy to retain possession and win 1-0 every game. Some games they score a pile, some they dont. If we want to compete with the europeans we need to play more like them and that means keeping the ball better and buying players that have better game awareness and can play within the system.

  13. Why are the corners so ineffective this season?

    We have decent deadball deliverers.

We have plenty of tall players to aim for.

    Whats going wrong?

  14. Robcfc11 16:07:

You make a valid point if we were only talking about this season but we are not. We have needed a No. 10 and an out and out goal scorer for more than this season. I have not enjoyed, overall what I am watching apart from UCL games for some time now, not just this season. How much time do we give before Plan B kicks in, two, three, more seasons!

  18. I thought young Fisher was doing ok in the first half.

Sad we need to bring on Mikael Lustig ( who is actually class) at halftime to get down the outside and crosses in, having to use the right back to create

  19. On the corners yesterday, there was one, where I believe CM asked young James to take it, he wouldn’t, so our 6’3 midfielder, and one of the better attacking headers of a ball, had to continue taking the corners

    Just an observation

  20. quonno define better value for money? If you mean a better product on the pitch then I covered that in the post. If you mean win the league and champ league football I covered that too.

  21. Bhoys and Ghirls,

Reading about the JFK assassination conspiracy theories. Interesting masonic connection with the hoax moon landing conspiracy.

John Glenn, two-time US senator and one of the first men in space was a known Mason. The number of astronauts known to be Masons is astonishing: Buzz Aldrin Jr. (Apollo 11), Gordon Cooper Jr., (Mercury 9, Gemini 5), Donn Eisele (Apollo 7), John Glenn Jr., (Mercury 6), Virgil Grissom (Apollo 1 & 15, Mercury 5, Gemini 3), James Irwin (Apollo 15), Edgar Mitchell (Apollo 14), Walter Schirra Jr. (Apollo 7, Sigma 7, Gemini 6, Mercury 8), Thomas Stafford (Apollo 10 & 18, Gemini 7 & 9), and Paul Weitz (Skylab 2, Challenger). This list is by no means comprehensive and there are likely scores upon scores of Masons within the ranks of NASA. Werner Von Braun, the first director of NASA was one of many top Nazi rocket-scientists the OSS/CIA brought to America during Operation Paperclip. So to begin with, NASA is full of Masons and Nazis – not the most historically honest folks.

I made the point at 15:10 you do not need necessarily to spend £5 million on a proven scorer. We have done it in the past spent less money on proven scorers who at the time we bought them were scoring for their Clubs. It is all about identifying the right type of player for the position you are trying to fill. Hooper was a striker, goal scorer. We replaced him with two players, Balde and Pukki were regular goal scorers for their respective clubs.

We need to replace Hooper, we have not done so yet, that should not necessarily cost is £5 million but if does, I will gladly see it done if they have been banging in the goals. Why wait until Summer, buy a player who has little time to settle before we play the prequalifiers. In my opinion you should be building for next season in January, although I am not saying we need to get all our players in then.

Saw that exchange also….Charlie didn’t seem to happy with JF. You would think, like penalty takers, that this sort of thing would be sorted out before kick off. Also thought it strange that big Efe wasn’t going up for them in the 2nd half.

  26. Lennybhoy I agree we need to find a more prolific striker. The point of my post is that I do not see us doing so before the summer.

Of course Neil might be changing our system to go for the fabled 4-6-0, but I doubt this as I don’t’ see where Balde fits into that.

  27. Blog is a wee bit muddled today. Is it due to the change of clocks?

Anyway, I just want to ask why our much vaunted scouting system did not watch Lee Harvey Oswald or Jack Ruby.

    Both were accurate shooters.

Oh and this over hyped Welsh derby between Cardiff and Swansea is rubbish.

Arsenal and Liverpool was a let down yesterday as well.

And we have complaints about our performance immediately before a CL game.
