  1. Go tell the Spartim on

Commons, is that the guy who is praising BR but went in a huff when same BR tired to make him fitter and weigh less ( in a professional football sense), he’s a clownshoe

Bonnar is a soup taker, isn’t any better as a pundit as he was a GK, though he did have one great season (to give him his due) he does his masters bidding. BBC aren’t going to hire a pro Celtic pundit.

That’s my opinion which isn’t kneejerk or impulsive, I’ve seen, read and heard enough of both to reach that conclusion myself.

  2. !!Bada Bing!! on

John Kennedy has been well compensated by Celtic, and foisted upon managers in arranged marriages into a senior role by Lawwell, if he is any good other clubs will come calling for him. He needs to leave the Celtic safety blanket himself, to learn in different circumstances.

  3. I see much excitement in Dominic McKay starting early and it appears we are going to try to grab headlines tomorrow by a double whammy announcement

Now I wish Dominic every success, and I’m sure improvements to catering, business deals, Celtic retail, your matchday experience will all take place, maybe even better-improved disco lights, however, Dom has no expertise in running a football dept what so ever, none zero zilch

The man running the first-team dressing room will determine our success, his name on that door will be significant as is his performance in that role

    Enjoy our day

You’d be forgiven for thinking one out of ten.

  5. Just checked UEFA website.

    INVESTIGATIONS

    UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary investigation

    Last updated 03/19/2021 16:44

In accordance with the Article 31(4) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, an Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector will conduct an investigation regarding the incidents that occurred during the 2020/21 UEFA Europa League Round of 16 second leg match between Rangers FC and SK Slavia Praha on 18 March 2021.

Information on this matter will be made available in due course.

No further information as yet but I’m sure I read/heard last week that they would report on 5 April.

EUFA investigating officer requested extra time to carry out all his duties regarding the disgraceful scenes that night, a flurry of allegations have been made surrounding the events, that report will make interesting reading I suspect it will be subjected to much wailing and gnashing of teeth from Govan

  8. On the subject of transfer fees, regards Celtic players,a bit of reality required. Many on saying that the valuations put on yesterday were too high.Really?Eddy for example, valued here at 25 million. That is a bargain for any club in the EPL.Covid or not,They spend more than that on projects.Villa paid 38 million to Brentford for a striker, with no International,European experience.12 million for Calmac!!!!!!!!.A pittance for EPL.Same as 10 million for RC.ManU pay 80 million for Harry Mc Guire, nothing exceptional, yet some scoff at 15 million for Ajer.EPL clubs have had great success from dealing with us,even Armstrong would now be around 25 million to buy.

We know the market we are dealing with, dont devalue our players.Leave that to our enemies.

  9. It is difficult to asses the attributes of John Kennedy from the outside. None of us know what he brings to the table because none of us have worked with him.

There have been positive comments by players over time and apparently Brendan wanted to take him with him to Leicester.

I don’t think he is ready to be our next manager and, like Kris Commons, I don’t think that Eddie Howe is a messiah, or, in the same class as Martin and Brendan…..yet!

However if he becomes our manager he has a chance to make it a trio – Martin, Brendan & Eddie.

  10. St Stivs, he has listed the players from right to left in

both rows as you look at the photo.

    Cracking photo mind you.

  11. “Big Packie is easily led in the discussions I have listened to.”

As I do not know Mr Bonner, that is a much more poilte way of saying what I said earlier.

One question though: Is that why he is given time on these interview spots?

  12. I don’t read the SMSM; so, I can’t really comment on Kris Commons. I, however, have had to listen to Packie Bonner on Radio Scotland (usually when I’m driving home from a game). If there is anything contentious during the game, Packie will invariably support the opposition. I have enjoyed him being corrected by Willie Miller when Aberdeen have been the opposition. He won’t change, nor will those other ex-Celts who write a column for any Scottish paper. They won’t get any work, if they tell the truth. It’s an ingrained part of Scotland’s shame and why I don’t read any of them.

Isn’t that precisely why Paul67 started CQN?

  13. Paddy Bonnar is a Celtic man. I don’t regard him as a ‘soup taker’ but I do regard him as a touch simplistic in his reading of the game and various situations around football and Celtic in particular.

Personally I don’t listen to any of these pundits too much because they are boring, dull, ill informed and I the case of Commons and Bonnar have little or no experience in coaching or management.

Most guys on here know more about football and certainly more about Celtic and what the support are thinking than the pundits. But aside from the genuine soup taker McCann the rest of them are paid to spout drivel and not to be too positive about Celtic.

I remember big Pat B fondly as a keeper for Celtic amd Ireland (some absolute howlers against deadco aside..)

His drivel on the radio doesn’t diminish that but it dies rule him out of being invited on to my quiz team.

  14. Just listened to the Graham Hunter podcast with Eddie Howe.

    Well worth a listen.

Agree he is not Brendan Rodgers, but I believe that he would be a fantastic appointment.

    Just my opinion

  15. !!Bada Bing!! on

No excuses, any ex Celt in the media, Sutton and Hartson excepted, pander to the hun pound, ask Tom Boyd or Tosh McKinley for the script.

He follows in a long tradition of tame Irish talking heads. Val Doonaghan, Terry wogan, Graham Norton ……

By contrast with the final one of that list, check out Tommy Tiernan’s 1:1interviews on RTE, available on YouTube.

    Real questions, proper answers.
