  1. Anyone who admired Gerrard as a player for Liverpool are now seeing his true character , a lowlife who will use anything to his advantage.

I now have no time for Liverpool the club as I suspect strongly that they have assisted him in the turnaround at Sevco.

Ernie- I think we will need to sell to rebuild, Ajer I would like to keep, convince McGregor to stay, the rest can go if they want.

This sounds terrible……but i have a sneaky suspicion there is no EH and it’ll be JK. Hope i’m wrong but the thought is just eating away at me tbh.

  4. Re Margaret Skinnider from last night. I got my daughter to do a piece on her for 2016 at school because it would be a bit different from the characters her schoolmates here in Ireland would pick and she was a top socialist and feminist. If i remember correctly, she had to fight the Irish authorities for a veteran pension because she was a woman. Great story

  5. Who needs ex-hun players giving negative comments about Eddie Howe when we’ve got that wee dick Commons .

    How embarrassing he has become

AN TEARMANN on 4TH APRIL 2021

Margaret Skinnider was a Primary school teacher from Coatbridge. She was the only woman wounded in the Easter Rising and was deployed as a sniper. So proud she came from my home town.

    ======================

And you are right to be proud my friend😊.She played a pivotal part in the republican movement and augmented the role woman

    in the movement.

    …………………….

Thanks for posting the link AT.

There’s a Margaret Skinnider Centre in Academy Street in Coatbridge and a memorial plaque on the wall of the Argyll Bar in Coatbridge which is just across from St. Patrick’s Church.

    Don’t sweat it ST.

The editorial stance, driven by commercial imperatives, is the only factor here.

Which ventriloquist’s dummy actually farts the words out is irrelevant.

FWIW – I have an unwritten “no wee dicks admitted” policy in my home.

Im sure most have seen this clip

I am not qualified to assess the credentials required to become a Celtic manager – I am old enough to have seen the best Jock Stein and a load that are contenders for the worst (no names)

But the interview with Eddie Howe (who has always been my choice based on availability and experience) is refreshing

he “seems” (we never know when they are camera) a sensible trustworthy bloke with a winning mentality and a hard work ethos as well as being a decent bloke

I hope Dermot and Dominic are doing their job and get this bloke

He could be a match made in heaven for us

  9. I like CQN but some of the side articles are straight from the MSSM.

The latest calls the ridiculous Pat Bonner a `Hoops Legend`.

Dearie me. If Bonner qualifies as a `Legend`, there must be many hundreds who qualify to be likewise described.

Kevjungle was more of a legend than Bonner :-)

  10. What is the Stars on

Although there were many women involved in 1916 ,Margaret Skinnider was one of the few women who actually could be termed a combatant (in that she fired a gun and was also wounded),most women were nurses or couriers. However years later when she applied for a military pension she was told that these were only for “combatants ” which the authorities decided was by definition a male role..So as a woman she couldn’t be a combatant and as she wasn’t a combatant she couldn’t get a pension. Disgraceful

Anyone got a link to PBS ‘Revolution in colour’ i missed it when it came on and canny find it!

  12. Can’t see why we get upset by the likes of commons , Jim Duffy etc , they are owned men , told what to say or they won’t be there . What gets to me more is the Keevin’s type who were brought up a million miles from siding with the govan side , At his age surely he doesn’t need the 30 pieces of silver now . But getting back to commons , I kinda agree with him regards the worth of Rodgers and Howe , BR is a top manager and we all know it , if we had the choice out the two to get announced on Tuesday i have no doubts who it would be . But EH would be a good second and hopefully given the chance to show his worth at Celtic park , one concern I do have is his european experience ,but maybe time will tell . HH

  13. Paddy Bonner was a man from Donegal whom minded his own business, as what was his want. Much better his dulcet tones on the airwaives than on the park mind.

It isn’t surprising when each fulfills the smsm requirements of pro them and neg us.

  15. One thing, among many, which puzzles me on here is the frequent smearing of John Kennedy as some kind of hate figure along with the likes of Adolf Hitler, Fred West and Bobby Shearer.

John gave every indication that he would be the outstanding defender of his generation when his career came to an abrupt and tragic end while on international duty. (Alex Rae, of course leapt to the defence of young Kennedy’s assailant.)

John’s ‘crime’ in the eyes of some was to be in situ as a Celtic coach during the first season of failure in a decade. However, the very recently rehabilitated Brendan Rodgers described JK as ‘a top coach’ and, to this day, holds him in very high regard held.

John Kennedy is steeped in Celtic. If he leaves us, this is something we may well regret.

  16. Don’t understand the animosity to Pat Bonner on here.

Came over to us at a young age and became a great servant to Celtic. with over 640 appearances .Look at all the supportive comments about French Eddie et al having to deal with a different environment.

We praise Paul McStay about being a one club man but some bampots on here think he is a phoney.

    Get a life.

Dry yer eyes ffs. We didnt so much as make two bob for the pair of them.

  21. Once again we have the abuse of an ex-celt just because he doesn’t see the world through ‘green tinted glasses’. Even Sutton & Hartson get this treatment on occasion.

Kris Commons gives his particular opinion backed up by facts – e.g. the Bournemouth transfer budget. If some folk think he is wrong, then by all means put forward alternative figures/facts and argue the case.

Slinging mud & insults is a lazy & puerile response.

Why is it that someone who takes an alternative view on particular issues is labelled an enemy of Celtic? The usual suspects are at it all the time on here – it is pathetic.

There are those on here who blinkeredly believe that a caste system operates within the Celtic support and anyone who doesn’t share their views is of a lower caste and can be abused with impunity.

Celtic is a club open to ALL – that means race, religion, politics and the right to an individual viewpoint.

  22. FRITZSONG on 5TH APRIL 2021 12:25 PM

    Totally agree

Players both youth and senior have nothing but positive comments ref his coaching and personal attributes, those who have actually observed his work on the training ground praise his coaching work and ability on the training ground

Our recent improvements in team performance over 90 mins are clearly visible

Eddie Howe should have the final say, if Howe appreciates and values Kennedys input on the training ground and wants him in his team, the haters should give it a rest

Cyber-warriors love to invent hate-figures within their own kind. They feel it elevates their own Celticness – in fact it does the complete opposite.
