  1. I am not sure of it has been said today, but can I ask you all to remember a young man by the name of Damien Martin in your prayers – school friend of mine and many others.

  2. A light insanity

So you made it up……was that to garnish support…..no? Then why accuse me of it?

Think they did that with about 10 to go when they brought on the extra centre half (Ba?) and probably contributed to us seeing a lot more of the ball late on.

I just think that negativity spreads. I may be wrong about the power of blogs. However I remember being shocked when Celtic fans started booing Dom Sullivan never heard it before and just wonder what the source and promulgator of negativity is these days.

I wasn’t implying 6 goals are scored in all games rather the way they play the game ( poor defending and all out attacking) creates the potential for goals a plenty

    Wee thought…

Two up,a draw, yet most of us are not disheartened.

Trying to find the positives in fact, pointing out that some of the players were absolutely first-class.

    Nothing wrong with that,except…

Boy,have our expectations been managed to death.

Five, ten, twenty and thirty years ago,we’d have been bliddy raging about that.

    —————

Really? 20-30 years ago we’d never score 2 at home against a team that had spent the same as Fene (in relative terms).

We played well in stages, we were poor in stages, and overall we were the better team. Kind of sums up most of the Celtic teams I’ve watched in Europe over the last 30 years.

    At last! A sane post.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been raised to support a team that has had a high bar to challenge.

Now we have humiliation, time and time again.

  10. Never one for predicting the weather as you know. But something I will predict is that after the next 2 games the league table will look like this

    Celtic – 6 points

    Ajax – 6 points

    Molde – 5 points

    Fenerbahce – 2 points

We then play Ajax at home with a win guaranteeing us qualification. Simples!

    Sleep well everyone. Life’s good!

  12. Disappointing not to win but pleased with young Tierney”s performance. I thought he was excellent.

Although playing in our last three games and not conceding a goal our resident Jose Mourinhinos are not slow in slagging off RD for playing Efe.

Without hindsight who would you have selected?

I simply made a factual point about the number of winning positions that we have surrendered and offered my views on that. No need for you to belittle or to throw about warped speculative accusations that are way off the mark.

By all means feel free to disagree but we can all do without idiotic baseless accusations.

  14. Evening.

Could have been worse but really should have been better. We played pretty well for 3/4 of the game and Tierney and Brown played very well with one or two others not too far behind. But much as I admire the commitment Efe shows he just does make too many mistakes that cost goals and whilst I and we will never know for sure it is hard not to think that we would have won comfortably against a team that was way less than the sum of its parts had Efe not gifted them that first goal.

More worrying perhaps is that for the fifteen minutes Fenerbache played as a team we were very ragged – we lost our shape ( as they say) totally in that spell. A lot of credit to the team for battling through the rocky patch but as I said this should have been better.

I think we need at least 4pts from Molde now but we are in with a shout.

I think Ronny aside, we sing pretty much from the same hymn sheet

  16. Just in from the game.

Shame for Efe, he was having a really good game until then, and actually had a good after it too.

2-0 and drawing 2-2. Disappointing, sure. But we would be ecstatic if it had been the other way round. I’m ok with the score, it reflected the way the game was played. Both teams had periods of dominance.

And, resorting to whataboutery, we played against a team that has spent much more than us. Spurs and Liverppol also managed only a draw in their games tonight. I think our was the more credible result.

Win our two home games, nothing taken for granted mind you, and we’d have 8 points. That would be pretty close to getting us through.

  17. BMCUW- With respect kind Sir.

Was in Manchester for Rapid and had the pleasure of Sporting 5-0..

There was nothing from that time that could make me rail against losing a 2-0 lead tonight.

BSR – thx , I thought I was invisible and was going to join the unsen fenian hand for company…

  18. As usual our beloved Hoops put us through the ringer.

Haven’t read back but I doubt I’ll be adding anything new.

Incredibly frustrated, I really thought up until 43 minutes they were there to be beaten. An awful error by Ambrose, who was decent apart from that, brought them back into it.

I then thought after their second we looked spooked and it took until 65 minutes for us to start to get a foothold again.

Brown was a leader and I thought Commons, Tierney (take a bow son!), Boyata, Lustig, Forrest and Griffiths were our best players.

    Ggggrrr frustrated.

  19. TGBS

I reckon, the reason I am defending RD is that he does the best he can IMO.

Just like our players do, they don’t deliberatly make mistakes, shit happens, we are where we are cos we are.

There is no way we will win at CP against Ajax, nor in Turkey. I see a point in total against Molde.

  22. STRINGER BELL on 1ST OCTOBER 2015 10:43 PM

Thought Scott Brown had as good an individual performance tonight as any Celtic player for the last decade. His influence was huge and he led by example. He was the reason we didn’t lose tonight. He also nursed effe and boats through the first half, which was needed. Until effe’s moment, obviously.

Boyata played well tonight. There might be a player in there after all.

Nobody died, we got a point and we will beat Molde.

    Disappointing though.

    Same thoughts as myself.

    One feck up from Efe.

yet we have Johansen running about all night like a feckin chicken.

    man short on my books.

away to my bed fed up to feck with the Efe GTF mob.

  23. i like Ambrose but he just cannot be trusted. He is regarded as an experienced defender (WC, Champs League etc..) yet he will forever make stupid decisions. I don’t know if this can be coached or not – what i do know is that Celtic should not tolerate the continuous making of the same mistakes , they should be hooked! If we tolerate , our great standards have sadly fallen below those set by by jock and all before

In a year or two when he’s hung up his boots I’d like Kris Commons for manager. Intelligent, thoughtful, straight and in tune with the club. Send Ronny off to Viking Stavanger or some such where he can wax lyrical under no pressure about how his team are taking shape/ learning/ progressing after their latest 6-6 draw. With a nice wad in his back pocket from his time with us. Nice guy, he’d deserve it for having the balls to take the job and at least give us some good memories of his naive, but entertaining philosophy. But that’s his level.

With respect, fellas,my post stated that back then we would have been raging at letting such a lead slip, not trying to find the positives.

It didn’t state that I could remember being raging at losing a two goal lead back then. Cos we didn’t. If we got it,we kept it. Most of the time,we didn’t get it in the first place. But not the point I made. Which is that our expectations have been managed.

I apologised earlier and will continue my search/witch hunt but I think your joke condemns you.. HH :-)

  30. I heard he was dead on

The next two games will define the group and decide if we make it through.

A home win and a draw at the very least we require.

It would be better if Ajax beat Fenerbache twice leaving them with a point and it should put them too far away from us.

Beating Ajax at home would sea the deal.

We really need to decide what we are in this competition for –

Experience and team building or are we trying to compete to the best of our ability or both.

In terms of performance there are some improvements but you would hope we could retain these players to build a team rather than punt them every summer.

The first 43 minutes is as good a European performance at home as we’ve seen for many years.

Like the previous match there is much to build on and much to ponder.

    Still annoyed with Efe regardless.
