Better than this EPL crap ..

Can’t do a knee jerk reaction just yet. Maybe in a couple of weeks if things improve or not.

Looking at the big picture no one can say that the ole Scottish soccer is borin’.

Will somebody get Pistol Pete to screw the nut, pull the plug, and get in Stevie Clarke to reorganise this squad into a consistent, winning football team that knows what is expected of it and how to attain such.

About 20 mins into the game the GB’s capo shouted through his

megaphone “that’s fcuking shite” the GB upped the decibels….now

up till then I thought they were doing well…….but they set themselves

a high standard apparently………..oh the team we are a shambles.

“Ronny Deila is still competing in 4 competitions due to an administrative error on the part of the Legia Warsaw secretary not because of his tactical brilliance”

    ————————————-

Actually, if there was no administrative error on Legia’s part, Ronnie would still have been in 4 competitions. He would have been in a EL playoff, instead of a CL playoff (against Maribor).

Don’t know how he would have done in that EL qualifier, but if you look at statisics, he has played 2 in the EL with Celtic without defeat. So there is a large chance he would still be in 4 competitions.

Really can’t see how anyone can call for the head of RD.

How is it his fault Stokes/ Guidetti/Commons can’t score with gilt edged chances?

    ——————————————————————————————————————–

You are wrong if you think people are calling for RD’s head on the basis of today’s result and performance. We are currently 6th. in a league that does not include Sevco, Hearst and Hibs. We have a wage bill that is higher than the rest of the teams in our league combined and we are mid-table after 9 matches. The last time we were that bad Lou Macari was the manager. RD is totally out of his depth and I think even he knows this the speed he disappeared up the tunnel at the final whistle. However, he will sit tight and wait for his hefty pay-out when the inevitable P45 arrives in his mail-box.

How can the manager coach an otherwise competent player to score from 5 yards?

Today we missed at least 6 like that and our players in possession of our hallowed jersey failed …….. Simple.

Do u think if Mourinho or Fergusson were our manager we would have scored the sitters missed today?

    No chance.

We appear to be out fir a scapegoat and Ronnie appears to be it .

    Wrong

Lawwell is to blame and what helluva mess he’s made with our team

  9. tomtheleedstim on

Things are not good at the moment and despite wanting Ronny to succeed I can understand people being unhappy with the way things are.

However, I can remember most of CQN calling for Lenny’s head after the Hearts defeat and then the Kilmarnock draw. Twelve months later we were beating the best club side I have ever seen.

I think Deila needs the season before he can be properly judged but I do agree some of his tactics and substitutions leave me a little baffled.

  10. so what does the norwegian genius have to say about todays game?

“Some of the chances we missed were just unbelievable,” he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. “I knew Hamilton would work hard, but if you have 10-15 chances, you should win games.

“It was not the standard we want. You have to really want it to make that extra 10%. It is very hurtful and we have to bounce back in the next game. If we had not created anything and had been really poor, I would be more worried.”

Ronny let me tell you a secret that only everyone in scottish fitba knows, including big Pete. When we sold hooper we then needed two centre forwards – we still have got any.

if there was a european award for non scoring forwards we would have won it for the last few seasons. KC is not an out and out striker but he carried us almost single handedly last year.

BUT we still had a reasonable defence and not terrible midfield.

and one last piece of advice for Ronny, you are out of your depth!

I think its until end of November – Because:

If he is still around in December then he will be involved(to some extent) in player in/out in Jan – this takes him to Feb – and if you change him in Feb the new man has no influence on players in/out

If you change in January – then new man has no or limited time to get his players in/out in Jan

And if he is 5 points or even 2 points behind going into march April can you imagine the nerves ??

And just for clarity NOT winning the league would be the single biggest failure in Celtics history

    ———————————————————————————————————————

It would also be the biggest boost for Scottish football since Aberdeen won the European Cup Winners Cup. How bad would that be in the great scheme of things?

    Right

and Ronny isnae good enuff to be a scapegoat

If we compare the current situation to when Moyes took over from Ferguson, IMHO it is very similar. He lost the dressing room and the rest is history. I don’t think the current players have an ounce of respect for Deila. The problem is that a manager of the status of Van Gaal has STILL not got it sorted out despite bizarre spending because the rot set in too early and was unchecked. Decisive action is required.

I think you might be right – I have ignored that for the minute as I do believe there is a period of time (six months) that determine how players judge/interact/respond to the manager

But i do not see any camaraderie “we are all in this together” even team spirit with the manager

All he has done is criticise players for not performing, for not being fit, for not having the right diet

What I don’t not see from RD “I will defend my players” The players did all I could ask of them” (even if not true) – but sound bites that makes the players feel he has their back – I see a lot of “its their fault” ??

Anyway a long way of saying I think you have a point

There seems to be a lot of posters on here 100% convinced that RD must go. No ifs, no buts, no more time to see how his ideas develop.

The last time I seen such convictions from so many posters on here about a decision was the decision to sign Craig Gordon.

Back then there was a lot of posters on here 100% convinced that CG mustn’t sign. No ifs, no buts, no give it time to see how it works out,

  23. Win the league this season! Who said that? There has been no improvement in this team since Ronny sailed out of his fjord. So if we stay as we are, we’ll make the top 6. Just! Thing is, can we stay as we are?

Mulgrew did rave about Ronny at the Hearts game, and when they interviewed Robbie Neilson he also said how many people he’s spoke to in the game that was raving about Ronny’s regime. It might be bull of course but i’ve not heard yet any players go in a huff.

  28. Back from the game and calm enough to post. Once again the teams shape has cost us 433 with kris in mid is a 424 when he’s off form like today we have no other creative player to make things happen too many passes going back and square with no one taking a chance on getting past his market. Poor team selection , poor team performance and all on muesli and fresh fruit

  29. I remember someone (SFTB or somebody else) laughing when I suggested John Hughes would be a better appointment than Deila, I wonder if they are still laughing.

Where are the impoverished ICT in the league with their next to no fans and where are we?

I still think Paul Hartley is a better choice, but John Hughes is a far better manager than Deila.

I said on day 1, appointments like Deila don’t work because to make it work you don’t just have to change the mentality of the players, you have to change the mentality of the coaches, the scouts, support staff, volunteers, shareholders, and the board, these are the people who are supposed to be your friends. You also have to change the mentality of the press, the opposition, the pundits, the players union, the managers union, the SFA, the SPL and Sky.

Lawwell’s appointment and solution was as half-baked an idea as Deila’s all talk and little action system. Both are well matched, and the Celtic park door should only be darkened by their presence if they’re there are part of an opposing team’s make up.

If they’re there as opponents as they’re used in their guise at Celtic, at least we can guarantee ourselves 3 points that night.

  30. burghbhoy

just for avoidance of doubt, when Ronnys time is up (and in my opinion it is up) Lawell who appointed him and who sold our best players one after another can go along with him

and hopefully that will herald a change of direction for Celtic.

i have never came across a club who have sold their way to success

I 100% agree that the downsizing spiral is well out of control. Empty seats speak volumes despite what some are saying about 15,000 faithful tims are better than 60,000

    Haven’t read back.

Full backs who can’t cross relied upon to cross the ball.

Stokes still in the team despite never convincing he is anything other than a squad player.

Tonev worse than a man short. Didn’t know how to go forward, didn’t know how to help Efe.

Stood in between both positions instead.

Commons stayed on the park in hope than expectation. Again controlling the ball and simple passes seemed an issue.

Plenty of chances to win not enough conviction.

Johansen had his best game I have seen him.

Wakaso good but no one on same wave length.

Hamilton had one chance to put the ball in the box and did so playing a percentage rather than trying to be exacting and failing miserably as we did. It seems that 4 2 3 1 isn’t effective against a defensive team or an attacking one. If that’s th case why play it. Scepovic represents our only outgoing but didn’t see any minutes. Instead we push on Virgil and Craig Gordon.

I feel sorry for the players who tried their heart out.

It’s thin margin stuff now. A draw today would have taken some heat out. The stats will tell you Ronny might only have another 8 or 9 points to drop pre Christmas then the board will press the big red button.

  33. Not inclined to give RD and JC any more chances. I sensed we were doomed the minute JC joined.. He is a self obsessed management failure imo

  34. I’m no genius, but there has not been a shape to this side from day 1. I thought RD would watch the pre season games and decide his first and second line-ups and the team shape. Nope. Did nothing as far as I can see. Guidetti is, believe me , a cracking player, the sort who can turn a game. Not for RD however. I can’t comprehend the lack of nous, common sense, awareness-call it what you will. I can only despair. I agree with Auldheid that competitive football is to be welcomed, and it’s brilliant for Accies supporters that they win at Celtic Park for the first time in over 70 years. However, the team that Celtic football club put out on the pitch should be bursting with pride and passion. 2/3 of this team aren’t.
