Broonie is not a defensive midfielder, he’s best and always has been best on the right of a three.

By the way I think he would be a world class right back in a stronger team but we’re not good enough in midfield to drop him out of there

  2. west of ireland csc on

is time to give ronnie diela the road????????

first time we have lost to hamilton at home in 76 years

dont believe in signing managers that practically no one has ever heard of!!!!!!!!!!

  3. jude2005 is Neil Lennon \o/ on

I take it the whole team will be going over Lennoxton for a 2 or 3 hour warm down after that display???

  4. Ronny’s one striker formation is clearly not working

    Taking off Guidetti was baffling.

Not putting on our £2.5m striker was also baffling

Not playing two up front was baffling

    Losing to Hamiltion – baffling

Everyone can have a bad day at the office.

    Anyone.

But, if you start having bad DAYS and continue so?

    So long fella.

I’ve been saying to mates for a while that I’ve been getting Mowbray-esque shiver up my spine with this guy (Deila) – I’ve been told to stop talking nonsense. But lately, the mates have been texting back they’re getting them shivers too.

This is, for me, the equivalent of watching two cars heading towards the crash. I remain unable to affect it yet certain of its outcome.

With a board that is rubbing it hands at the prospect of the return of the living dead – sponsored by Mike Ashley – bet they wish they had squirrelled something away for that Aye Ready Day…

    Just out from the game.

No way is RD to blame for this defeat.

Fairly and squarely rests with our inability to take glorious chances.

Guidetti , Stokes and Commons all culpable .

No doubt RD will get the blame .

No his fault the players are gash

Accies’ annual budget would probably make a minor impact on our petty cash box. Our club has, quite simply, got it fearfully wrong, again. First defeat at home against Accies since 1938. How impressive is that, following a home draw against Murderwell (who were hammered at home by Accies)? We produced another dreadful performance in this backwater of a league. Going downhill……fast. Paul Hartley would be an acceptable solution to me; at least in the interim.

  7. MWD’s, given what happened today I can’t give much of an argument against that.

Ronny is running out of time, it’s not getting beaten today on it’s own, there seems to be very little in the way of progress t all.

But not yet, my knee is now back under control.

With the changes to the culture at the club, methods, tactics etc, this was always going to be a bumpy ride, for a longer than normal transition.

I’m not happy and I’m not clapping, but I’m patient enough to give him some more time.

  8. Pulis knew what he was doing when he signed Ledley at the New Year. Ledley is the glue in a midfield. So was NL. Nothing fancy, just a good footballing brain. I would imagine that Joe L has nothing but good memories of his time at Celtic Park.

AS for PL and the Board–it seems they are becoming like the old-time owners from the 50s and 60s–they think they should be running the football team–take all the plaudits and dodge the flak.

  9. I’m not a fan of RD and his philosophy. Truth be told I’m even less a fan of the rest of his management team. But they’ve had what, 14 games in charge? I think that’s too early for anyone to be sacked as manager of Celtic.

Bright side: still in League Cup, top of Europa League group (more by luck than judgement) and, if we win our game in hand, just 3 points off top of the league. The clocks haven’t even gone back yet.

On the other hand, if we don’t win our remaining four matches in October I reserve my right to light the torch, sharpen the pitch fork and chase the whole damn lot of them out of Celtic Park.

  10. Re Tony Pulis

He left Palace due to owner denying him transfer funds, so can’t see him heading north given our signing policy.

But he’d certainly put out an organised, tactically aware team, all knowing their job.

Would take that, at the moment.

  11. In my son’s ok place today so missed the game.

On his bedroom wall is a poster proclaiming….”the shot heard around the world” with young Tony Watt scoring against Barca in the CL. Date is 7 November, 2012

Today we lose at home to, no disrespect, Hamilton Accies.

How the hell can we have fallen so spectacularly quickly? I mean, the Barca game was less than two years ago!!!!! Is really is astounding.

Mind made up today re RD. I’m afraid he is not long for our parish and needs immediate replacement. John Collins needs to walk with him.

  12. another loss or two and the board are at a crossroads

    – try to tempt an established manager with money (ie MON style which we took years to recover from)

    or

    – risk a poor manager and risk the league

The question is how long do we give him? Being 6th in this league is unacceptable for any Celtic team.

    Really starting to worry.

  14. John Collins or any new manager isn’t going to magically make Stokes and others put away simple chances.

The Hamilton keeper didn’t even have to be good today as we couldnt get anything on target no matter how close to goal the chance was.

I agree with virtually all of that except the stuff about Sevco.

They offer no challenge and are six points behind a Hearts team we battered a couple of weeks ago.

Someone will challenge us though simply because we are dropping too many silly points.

But it is alarming the same mistakes are being repeated – particularly the lack of cover in midfield. I thought Celtic were turning a corner, but it’s back to square one.

I was at the game. We dominated and we attacked throughout. Hamilton scored from their one chance. It wasn’t Ronny’s fault that Guidetti, Stokes missed one on one chances agsindt the goalie or thst we missed three absolute headed sitters in front of goal.

Some people on here just want rid of the manager, many not having even seen the game. We will win the league.

  20. As bad as it gets, the chances we miss are criminal, the formation we play is criminal. 2 strikers 2 wingers and 2 central midfielders with 4 at the back is the only way we should play.

I slag guys for not going to the game after today I’ll never do that again can’t blame them.

Nonsense, Hamilton had 3 or 4 great chances. Should have scored straight away

  22. The huddle I have been to enough games this season to see us for the shambles we are.

Burnley78 – I think we were very lucky to get glasto tickets. They sold out in just under 30 mins.

Sounds like you have got some great sporting events to go to. Enjoy.

As for our tough market. I agree. It is. But we should be doing way better than we are. There are no excuses.

  23. Shocking finishing by Ronny Deila and Peter Lawwell today, nothing to do with Stokes, Guidetti and Commons- they were all superb and are as such are exonerated.

  24. jude2005 is Neil Lennon \o/ on

Hamilton came with a plan and stuck to it! Ours is in the post!! 2nd class btw!!

The huddle I have been to enough games this season to see us for the shambles we are.

    ———-

I’m not saying we aren’t a shambles i pulling you up about attack attack attack, which we did today. We attacked all day long could still be attacking now I’d doubt we’d score.

I dont really see that as a manager problem and more a player problem.

  26. I have not seen too many games this year, so I can’t really comment on the football – I will accept that it has been dire. However, I do think that there is a certain amount of panic in some of us wanting to get rid of RD at the start of October. John Barnes lasted until February.

There has been a lot of (justified) criticism of us selling players without having a replacement ready, I imagine that this would apply even more in getting rid of a manager.

  27. Professor Green on

The most worrying aspect of Ronny’s management was the fact that we are pushing for an equaliser he puts Van Dijk up front instead of bringing on the only guy he has paid money for in Scepovic. Who I believe is on a 4 year contract.

Extremely concerned about some of his decisions. It looks as if he is out of his depth

  29. For me, this one today is simple.

I thought this guy was the right appointment. Based on today, I am no longer convinced. Not baffling as much as incomprehensible decision making, a complete lack of a clue tactically, zero urgency amongst the players … this isn’t working at all.

Playing a single striker in a packed penalty box and attempting crosses? What is that? A guy fresh off a coaching course would know that is bound to fail. How long would we have continued to play like that today before the penny dropped?

It should have dropped in the first ten minutes.

No-one top blame today but the manager … but if he is the wrong choice then there ought to be no hiding place for the people who blew 2 out of the last 3 appointments, and only got the third right by a combination of sheer luck on our part and the collapse of Rangers.

Neil was a success. Relatively speaking. But it ignores the fact that an untried and untested guy should never have been an acceptable appointment in the first place.

This is not an isolated result, or a one off bad decision, if that’s what it turns out to be.

This is years of moving in the wrong direction. This is chickens coming home to roost.

Soul sick watching that today. Absolutely shocking performance, and the clock is ticking on a guy I thought (maybe hoped is a better word) would be a great appointment.
