    STARRY PLOUGH

I think I saw Joy Sucking and the tsunami of negativity at the Barrowlands. Damn fine band.

  2. Levein said on Radio Scotland that Broonie was outplayed by Harry Cochrane at Tynecastle and suggested that Broonie took him out tonight. The insinuation being that Broonie put HC in hospital on purpose.

That was my take and, to his credit, Michael Stewart picked up on the same point. Packy B was his usual

empty-headed self and supported Richard Gordon in that Stewart’s interpretation was wrong.

This, on top of the “natural order” comment after the Hibs game, should mean that Levein should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute.

I won’t be holding my breath!

  3. First hour was like watching a MON team in it’s pomp, pace, power, tackles, movement. Been asking about Kouassi for weeks, wow, he let everyone around him play-The Dark Destroyer- he can see a tackle at 20 paces, then snap.Eddie had his best game for us, confidence through the roof after that finish, touch and link up with MF and the Mousse was exceptional. Not too many Dembele doubters on tonight…

  4. Scott Bain suggestion came from BBC’s Chris McClaughlin (sp) who was at CP tonight, must have picked up snippets in the press room or – more likely – from the thousands of agents that must have been cutting about the main stand tonight.

Scoot Bain hates Neil McCann. That makes me and him practically brothers. Sign him up, I say.

  5. Delighted to read so many happy posts. Sometimes managers keep faith with a system and certain players too long hoping it’s just a dip in form. Sometimes the paying public have good reason to think change is needed.

A back three, a more agressive, beefed up midfield, and two strikers – thank you BR,I was beginning to think last season was as good as it would get. Now I can get back to dreaming of us getting better and better.

We were linked with Scott Bain a season or so back. A fine goalkeeper ,although he might have to play backup to De Vries who has been impressive. Not much to do tonight but his distribution has been first class.

Just a note to all on here who get wound up by interlopers/trolls/malcontents every time Celtic have a bad result ( yes one loss in almost 80 domestic games but draws and narrow victories can count as disasters also)

    Well, where are they tonight…..nowhere

So next time we have a slumpy type result …lets just ignore the clowns

We’ve been peering into an existential abyss the last couple of months. Thank god we stepped back tonight

  9. WITS

I agree with your earlier comment about the ageing squad – some of them lads are nearly in their mid 20’s! Hopeless state of affairs, well be lucky to get 11 years out of some of them.

    Pedal on :-)

  10. On the day of Cyril Regis’ funeral it is probabky worth noting that Celtic started with 5 black players and played 7 in total. Hh

  12. Levein said he tried to adopt Anderlecht tactics against us and while it worked in December it was a complete disaster for him tonight.

Brendan gave him his response and in doing so showed us how he will set up against Zenit. After tonight we must have a wee chance.

    By the way

    Packie Bonner

He was on my flight from Dublin to Glasgow last Saturday morning,

Was very pleasant and courteous to fans who spoke with him and had photos taken .And very happy to talk positively about Celtic

Came across as a total gentleman.

Might not be popular to say this on here but its true.

    Hate is a bad word

    Dont hate anyone son

    Intensely dislike if you must..

  15. Wits No doubt Packy is a smashing guy however as soon as he is on the clock for the bbc he turns into a total arse of a man. Hh

  16. The reason Hearts use of the Anderlecht tactic failed tonight was because we moved the ball quickly. Often one touch.

The reason we could do so was because we weren’t playing on a swamp.

Which means, we just need a plan D which takes into account swampy pitches.

  17. viewfaethewindae on

Just back from a cold, wet Celtic Park, always good to thump the Jam Tarts.

Kouassi looks a player, worth a run in the team?

  18. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

Second half was really just a continuation of the slump, we’ve suffered for the whole of the season.

It’s interesting fact, that Celtic forced a half fit Dembele into the shop window tonight. Contrast and compare with our resurgent neighbours? How can they spurn 7,000.000, whilst we struggle at every turn.

Why do we need all this cash? It’s not being spent on the squad or stadium. I got soaked tonight, can Lawwell not build a retractable roof ?

  19. If Scott Bain has played for both Hibs and Dundee I don’t think he can play for a third team

Only failure tonight was Thompson -dreadfull.

  20. The next time Broonie wants to slow the game down he should tell the rest of the team. It might save him giving any more goals away. Just a thought. Hh

  21. theBHOYfromU.N.C.L.E on

Bit of a concern that we haven’t managed a second half goal in the last three home games…………

  22. Well we did go toe to toe and in doing so alleviated some worries that had been mounting.

It’s not often you get a manager who sees weaknesses that the support see and addresses them.

Putting pressure on Berra by playing two physical lads up front worked well although Berra can take some credit for stopping a route.

Mosunda is a lot lighter than I thought, but his back heel and then lofted pass to Tierney showed why we went for him.

Koussai showed attitude. I like that. You can never have too much attitude. Ask Broony and JF has improved his game beyond measure.

Ntcham superb and Ajer can attack and defend. Simunovic & Boyata were always in control. KT was KT.

Very enjoyable, which is how football is supposed to be.

    The future does look bright.

    It looks green and white.

  23. Harry

I heard the Levein insinuation. Packy? Yep….. pitiful defence of our captain.

Stewart called them out though. Good to here.

Packy is well regarded on Follow Follow I see.

I also noted Kris Commons has a thread dedicated to him on FF earluer in the week

Along the lines of him not being a “ typical tarrier”

A “ refreshing change from Sutton”

    Says a lot…….

A couple of thousand yards of cable and a junction box up tae big Peter’s driveway and we could all have heated seats anaw!:-))

  25. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

Suppose if there’s one thing that scoreline emphasises is that the dropping of Scott Sinclair was the shot in the arm Celtic needed.

Scotts caused no end of problems tonight.
